  1. If we played the Padres we'd probably say the same about how far behind we are.
  2. I've been thinking about what I posted in this thread for a while, and really it does me no good to constantly b**** about getting the short end of the stick. Being angry and bitter does me no good, I should just move forward from here and try to make the best of my situation as it exists today.
  3. There was a guy with a Cigar signature that used to say "Fine Cubans" with El Duque and Jose Contreras on it. When Robert comes up and establishes himself I want that signature with Moncada and Robert.
  4. I hope you're right. I can't wait to bust The Sir's balls when Moncada hits over .300 this year.
  5. Agreed, offensively though Devers has been better. Moncada is a well above average 3B on D. It's really hard when you're competing with Bregman, Devers, Chapman and Jose Ramirez to get a ASG nod. There are 5 superstar 3B in each league and only 3 can make the ASG. Moncada just seems like one of those guys that is going to be overlooked because of the team he plays for.
  6. As good as Moncada has been, Devers has been better. It's crazy how many great 3B there are in baseball. When you think of 3B historically, only Mike Schmidt and Adrian Beltre have done what these guys are doing. It seems like half of baseball has a great 3B.
  7. 3B is stacked. This might be a golden age of 3B in MLB. It's going to be incredibly difficult to get an all star nod at 3B in both leagues.

    Hahaha I remember that.
  9. The gopher ball has been his downfall this year. He's giving up a 3 run HR or GS every start it seems.
  10. I was comparing Giolito's 1st half to 2nd half there. I edited the post for clarification. I wasn't comparing him to Cease except post 2018 ASB. 8.0 is pretty close to 8.4.
  11. Yes, he's striking out more guys but I was talking more command/one bad inning stuff. Giolito struck out more guys in the 2nd half last year than he did in the 1st half. I'm talking about July-September 2018 Giolito not the guy who completely sucked and couldn't miss bats prior to the ASB. By late August you could see how Giolito was going to get significantly better this year regardless of of whether or not he shortened his arm swing.
  12. He looks a lot like 2018 Giolito right now. You can see the talent, but the command blows chunks.
  13. They can't afford to do this any other way than to pay up in FA. Unless someone breaks out next year they aren't going to be able to acquire anyone via trade.
  14. Yeah that makes more sense. Though I wonder if they lose some leverage in a trade if they are over the luxury tax and have to move someone.
  15. The only reason why it even crossed my mind is if they want to go after Gerrit Cole. Hamels comes off the books this year, and Lester after next year. Should they want to do that, they could decline Quintana to free up money.
  16. I've accepted they're not bringing them up until next year. I do think they'll give Collins another look. I still think they should have been called up on 8/1. I now waver because it is so late in the season and I agree with September being iffy because of roster expansion. At this point, I see both sides of the argument but I think we've passed the point of no return. I disagree with that decision, but it is what it is.
  17. I don't think they're that stupid either.
  18. Engel might as well be a pitcher so it's ok. (Don't tell Ricky) He has a better chance of getting on base bunting than swinging away.
  19. When they were with the Sox Maggs and Frank were absolutely among the best at their position.
