  1. Oh I get it, but in my mind if you can't ask the tough questions you can't do your job either. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Teams shouldn't be allowed to control the media like that. It is a mockery of the journalist, IMO. He's there to ask the tough questions for the fans, not to sell you tickets.
  2. On their T100 chat.
  3. Fangraphs had him at 8 OA because they think he's a DH. I'm talking about McDaniel and Longenhagen.
  4. Ah, yes, Jerry "Uncle Scrooge McDuck" Reinsdorf going for a morning swim.
  5. Eloy is just bad. Fangraphs had a scathing report on his D, and they see him as a DH very soon.
  6. I don't disagree. That 2 seamer he was throwing up there in July and August was a really nasty pitch though. He actually threw it harder than the 4 seamer. Was sitting around 94-95
  7. When he was a top prospect he was sitting around 93-94 and topping at 96-97
  8. I know, but if it can increase spin why wouldn't he try it? If it gets him above average it would be a big deal. The last thing you want in terms of spin is average. If it only gets him to average it hurts more than helps.
  9. Yeah, isn't velo down a bit through a pitcher's first few starts of the spring?
  10. Me too, which is why he should get ABs....In LF and DH.
  11. I want to know what he's throwing up there(how hard) EDIT: Banuelos was once a top 20 pitching prospect before injuries got him. If he's back to that guy, he could be our Arrieta.
  12. I'm concerned about how many extra pitches per inning he costs them in RF.
  13. In LF sure. Not in RF under any circumstances. You can hide a shitty defender in LF. You can't in RF.
  14. They're going to score a ton of extra runs due to their speed.
  15. It isn't about being positive/negative, it's about being level headed. I love Moncada's talent, I want nothing other than for him to be Jose Ramirez as a player. He has the talent to be 2nd best player in baseball after Trout, and that isn't hyperbole. The dude just oozes talent from every orifice of his body.
  16. That's where I'm at. I'd rather give him the DH at bats this year over Alonso, not because I think he could be a long term solution, but to be flippable in a trade for a team that needs a LH power bat at DH. I think Eloy is the long-term DH, tbh. He's only playing the field until better fielders are ready.
  17. They should have Giolito do that this year.
  18. I know I'm in the minority, but.....I can't bear the thought of Palka in RF. That is more disgusting to me than wasting 5-7M on a 1-year deal for CarGo or Jones.
  19. Don't get too excited. We were all ecstatic about Giolito's spring last year. Dude looked like an ace in the making. When the regular season hit, well.....
  20. I want each party(team, player) to act in their best interest and I don't begrudge either party for doing so. Like I said about the Machado shit, I'm not even mad about the Sox not landing him, I'm mad about them lying to the fanbase about their level of interest, which apparently wasn't very high at all.
  21. I noticed that too. LOL.
  22. Thirded. I don't think the owners have to give up the 6 years of control, but they do have to give up money in bonuses and other things. Even if you go down to 4 it just becomes economically untenable for the small market teams, unless they just decide to spend money suddenly.
  23. Damn straight. Preach Tony.
