  1. It would have to be someone better than Christian Yelich for me to consider it. If the Yankees called and offered someone like Luis Severino, I'd listen though. That is a completely far-fetched scenario because they have Gleyber Torres.
  2. Exactly my point, which is why bringing up Moncada's trade value is nothing other than pointless whining and mental masturbation. I edited my post to add this, You don't trade Moncada until you are at least 70% sure that he won't scratch the surface of his ceiling while playing for the White Sox. If he does it elsewhere after you trade him if it reaches that point, so be it.
  3. At this point in time, with the amount of information we have, there is exactly one player that I'd trade Moncada in a package to acquire(because I know it would take more than him to acquire him and that is Mike Trout. He has the potential to be a notch below Trout. Moncada is available for nobody other than Trout. If you read the prospect stuff in 2017 they said it might take a season or two's worth of PA for Moncada to figure it out. It is looking like they were very correct. They did say that Moncada might break baseball if he reaches his ceiling, which is putting up seasons among the best in the history of the game. There is zero reason to give up on that potential until you are pretty sure it won't be even close to approached by him while he's playing for the White Sox.
  4. BTW, I'm not mad that the Sox blew the lead, I'm mad HOW they blew it. Utter incompetence by the manager and defense.
  5. Not really. RR puts him out there when he should be patting him on the back for a job well done.
  6. Maybe if a guy was allowed to start an inning cleanly?
  7. OMG they're going to blow this thing for Gio. Bullshit.
  8. I changed my Signature to reflect that. Hahn needs to launch both RR and Steverson at the end of the season.
  9. This is the kind of shit that I can't stand. Renteria has cost Giolito probably over a full run on his ERA by letting him start an inning and the Sox shitty bullpen allows his inherited runs to score. Dude pitched so well, deserved no runs charged to him, and RR had to put him out there for the 8th.
  10. This team has a contagious disease known as striking out looking. The entire team does it. Ridiculousness. Renteria and Steverson should have been fired yesterday.
  11. I'm ok with them keeping Coop still, and I think Coop has the job for as long as he wants it, but the rest of the staff can go bye-bye. Steverson and Renteria can take a one way plane ticket out of Chicago this October.
  12. Get used to it. He's gonna be really good going forward.
  13. This version of Giolito is what I've been waiting for for so long and why I've been so supportive/patient with him. He's painting corners even with his offspeed stuff, getting lots of swings and misses, and only walking a guy every couple innings. This is Cubs ST Giolito. Well done Coop. However, he's so easy to run on. He's going to have to keep that in check going forward. When Giolito is on he's also a ground ball machine when hitters do make contact, and that bodes very well for him becoming a TOR starter. He's making hitters look silly with his offspeed stuff, and it seems the thing that has made it all click besides getting his mechanics down is switching from the circle to straight change. He's not hanging it anymore, getting it down and it moves so well. That is a power change in the making. He has 3 60+ grade breaking pitches right now. If he can command both the curve and slider like he's doing tonight, he's going to be an ace and I don't think there is much of an argument.
  14. Trading Abreu, Avi, or Rodon actually makes baseball sense. Trading Moncada makes zero baseball sense. Does that answer your question?
  15. I think the future is to have 1 pitcher face 9 batters no matter what happens, other than getting shelled. Pitchers have a huge upper hand the first time through the order. If you never give hitters an opportunity to adjust, then pitchers should be able to get significantly more outs. You have two guys designated to face the 1st 18 batters and then go from there. It is also an economic scam. I'm not sure that the PA can argue against it if there is empirical data(which there is) that it leads to more wins. SP are about to become an endangered species. Only the true aces will be allowed to start going forward, otherwise it will be all by committee. I really don't think anything can be done to stop it.
  16. Yeah, with Madrigal it will be "He doesn't take enough walks" or "He grounds out on too many bad pitches " Though it is a small sample size, these criticisms are valid for Madrigal, as his BA and OBP are separated by .006
  17. RR is garbage. He needs a one way ticket out of Chicago in October.
  18. It is more that I don't think AA is challenging him all that much.
  19. He takes so many called third strikes because 75% of the time they're balls and the umps are jobbing him. This case was different.
  20. If this is to get him back with a pitching coach he's comfortable with to fix him for next season, I agree with this. Otherwise it is kinda baffling.
  21. Wow. Hansen going back to W/S. If the reasoning is to work with the guy who helped him with his control issues before last season, I agree with the decision. Get him throwing strikes again.
  22. 100% agree. Same reason why Moncada came up in August last year, along with Giolito and Lopez. Either now or in April.
