  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 11, 2014 -> 05:01 PM) It is strange it was Stewart who hit him and not the others that apparently saw him. Stewart has walked on a track befor, himself, even throwing his helmet at a car. I don't think he tried to hit the kid, but scare him, most definitely. The guy belongs in jail, and the deceased's family should get some of his $70 million bank. It was a dick move gone bad. What's really strange is how you ignore that the guy in the car before Stewart has said he saw him at the last second and that Stewart would've had even less time to see him.
  2. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 11, 2014 -> 05:30 PM) My first instinct would be to drive low on the track where it's flat and not near the guy yelling coming towards my car. it's easy to say what your instincts would be since you have NEVER been in that situation or been on a track. you really look foolish in this thread because it's obvious you have zero experience but you sure have all the answers.
  3. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 11, 2014 -> 02:02 AM) Ah, so he just blindly slammed on the gas then. Even smarter. I dont have a background in any type of racing but I'm curious on what yours is.
  4. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 11, 2014 -> 12:55 AM) And if Tony Stewart didn't have a temper and was pissed off, no one is dead either. Pure speculation on your part rightnow that Stewart was pissed off here. Maybe Stewart did it on purpose, maybe Stewart was just trying to scare him or maybe it was just a freak accident but the other driver is a f***ing moron for putting himself and Stewart in this situation.
  5. I'll probably watch an inning or two here and there and watch a few innings of the title game just out of curiosity. But there really isnt anything appealing in watching a bunch of middle schoolers for more than a 5-10 minute stretch. why not? 99.9% of little leaguers arent half as good as these kids playing in the LLWS. Sure there might be a couple of stud players in a little league but for the most part they are average players and horrible players regardless of the age. I'm sure there are plenty of guys on this site who were good enough to be on their all-star team at age 10 but werent allowed to because of being too young.
  6. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 09:03 PM) Don't follow UFC, but a Rousey/Carano fight would be intriguing. no it wont be. WMMA is a f***ing sideshow. Carano is just another piece of ass to sell tickets and to pad Rousey's record. It'll be ugly and embarrassing but the moron's who Dana White caters to will eat it up.
  7. and he took 30 seconds to get around the bases. but I'm sure he'll claim to be the victim next time he gets beaned.
  8. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 26, 2014 -> 03:40 PM) So what are you and Balta out there doing to advance the LGBT movement, other than call everyone bigots on a message board? If you're not very serious activists, it certainly appears that you are bigoted cowards! you mean you arent an activist by just posting a marriage equality symbol on your facebook page or tweeting #bringbackourgirls?
  9. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 25, 2014 -> 06:29 PM) Except he's not getting f***ed by somebody, he's being asked to kiss somebody. It's his right to not do it, but given how small of a request it is and the iffy reasoning for feeling weird about it, it's going to be difficult to sign him up to a series in the future. Maybe movies where he can know the ins and outs of his role and not jump ship as his character develops and he starts to feel weird typical intolerant response from people who scream for tolerance.
  10. MRSA ends the career of Carl Nicks.
  11. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 24, 2014 -> 12:53 AM) Bears and Ravens had offers in place for Sam after the draft, so 29. And if Dungy hadn't been a supporter of Tebow who has been the all time distraction, it'd be different. But right now it seems the distraction is caused by people like Dungy. those teams werent interested in investing into him though because when you release a draft pick after just one training camp/preseason it makes the front office look bad.
  12. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 11:49 PM) I understand what he is saying. I agree and disagree with it. And I'm disappointed he feels that way. It is a distraction. And with Sam it's a bigger distraction than it's been in the past. But it is in no way THAT big of a distraction, especially compared to things he's helped out with in the past, especially Vick. maybe he thought Vick's talent was worth it? this is a league that is basically win at all cost. There are a lot of f***ed up individuals that we cheer for every Sunday that coaches feel is worth the headache because of what they bring to the field. Clearly Dungy and 31 other coaches felt Sam doesnt have the talent to deal with everything that comes with him.
  13. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 08:09 PM) And he embraced Vick and Tebow, possibly the two biggest distractions of all time. if youre going to be a distraction then you better be worth it. The moment when he distraction is greater than your talent, you find yourself cut or playing in the CFL like Chad Johnson. So maybe he doesnt think Sam's talent is worth the distraction?
  14. I guess calling them refugees sounds nicer.
  15. QUOTE (TRU @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 11:59 AM) My son was born on February 24th, the projected new baby is for February 26th.. I hope they aren't on the same day, would suck for them I have a friend who was born on the 7/7 and his brother was born on 7/9. They would always celebrate the day with dinner/cake/etc on the 8th. I would hate that.
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 07:58 PM) In Atlanta, right? What type of food and roughly what area in Atlanta are you all in? My best friend lives there and I can ask him. You can also probably PM dasox24, who lives in Atlanta. Roswell area. No preference in food, probably a bar/grille type. Pretty open to suggestions really.
  17. I was suppose to go on a Vegas and then camping trip for a week with friends this month. Then that fell apart because of life and other commitments. Then we were going to have a long weekend in either Toronto or DC in late August which just happened to fall on my birthday. I was pushing for Toronto, another was pushing DC b/c he just had a baby and his wife's family is from the area. He was going to go a week earlier to see them. Of course the other friends caved and said DC would be easier. Boring. Then slowly, and thankfully, the others had no interest and those plans fell through. Now I find out today I'll be spending that very weekend with my parents in Atlanta helping my sister move with her boyfriend from Boca. Of course the Braves arent in town so there goes the idea of hitting up a game that Friday night. So I'm basically asking does anyone have a good, nice, local type place to recommend for a Friday dinner? Something casual and relaxed because Thursday and Friday afternoon will be spent driving 9 hours and moving them in. Being in Orlando, I'm in the chain restaurant capital of the southeast so hopefully looking for something different. thanks
  18. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 10:41 PM) You might be shocked to learn that my comments are informed by knowledge of his earlier, explicit anti-gay statements. well your knowledge cant be that great since he told Bob Costas that he'd have a gay player if he was good enough.
  19. "I wouldn't have taken him," said Dungy, now an NFL analyst for NBC. "Not because I don't believe Michael Sam should have a chance to play, but I wouldn't want to deal with all of it." Now look who is putting words in other's mouths. Dungy actually said "deal with all of it", which is probably meaning the distractions outside of football(media, reality shows). Nowhere does he say him being gay was the unacceptable distraction yet you dont mind attaching that to him which isnt surprising since you like throwing the bigot card around so easily.
  20. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 09:56 PM) I'd have more respect for Dungy if he just admitted he has a problem with homosexuality, instead of making up these lies about distractions. except it isnt a lie about him being a distraction. If it wasnt going to be a distraction, then the Rams wouldnt have told Sam to not do the Oprah documentary. Just like AJ McCarron running around doing a reality show with his girlfriend can be a distraction, especially for a rookie.
  21. why is he an asshole, because you dont like what he stands for? I dont remember Tebow whoring himself of a reality tv show. I dont remember Tebow saying at his combine that he wanted to only be known as a football player and then started up a website to take advantage of his sudden fame. I dont remember Tebow saying no cameras in his house for draft day and then all of a sudden having cameras in there for a staged reaction shot. If anyone chose to be something it was Sam and he chose to be a distraction since he left the combine.
  22. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 09:35 PM) For every imagined "issue" caused by hiring a gay person, it's just as easy to imagine a positive especially with the rapidly increasing public acceptance. It's not like the media coverage is negative or critical. You get the support of the lgtb community and their supporters. Your.team gets to be the center of a majority positive storyline for the biggest sport in the country. On a personal level, you can make a difference by rejecting bigotry and letting him stand on his own merits on the field. Or you can be a coward or a bigot and hide behind "distractions" as your excuse for using someone's sexuality as a hiring criteria. youre really following that liberal handbook by throwing the bigot card out so much. as with any sport, if youre going to be a distraction then you better be worth the headache. A marginal player who probably will be a scout team member isnt worth the hassle. Which is exactly why Tebow cant find a job.
  23. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jul 19, 2014 -> 12:23 PM) I did that last year. It was awesome... And I'll definitely be buying Sunday Ticket again this year. So much better than trying to illegally stream games like I used to and having to deal with pop up ads and grainy feeds. lol, as bad as the grainy feeds were, the worst for me was watching a Bucs game that was blacked out on some stream while having a game from CBS/FOX on my tv. The feed was usually 2 minutes behind so I'd see the scoring change on my tv. For $10 a month that is the sports package, getting the NFL Redzone is all I need. If the Bucs werent local then I'd be getting the ST for sure. I wonder if I'm the only person here who turns to the Redzone channel just to hear that music and to see the "Coming in September" across the screen.
  24. QUOTE (farmteam @ Jul 18, 2014 -> 09:55 PM) Vikings suspend Priefer 2-3 games. Chris Kluwe's twitter is a hell of a read tonight, too. This one, depending whether he's right or wrong, might get him or the Vikings in a lot of trouble: and depending on if Kluwe's right or wrong could get himself into some trouble. but if it bothered Kluwe so much, then he should've said something when it happened. For a guy who claims to be such an activist, he sure can look the other way as long as the NFL paycheck is coming in.
