  1. I dont think VT is deserving of the Sugar Bowl but Herbstreit needs to get off his Boise St soap box. I'm sorry ESPN invested the past 2 years in showing Boise games(on Fridays because ESPN wants the best ratings in pushing their agenda) only to have Boise choke and let you down both years. So its ok that ESPN does whats in their best interest for ratings but when the Sugar Bowl wants a matchup not involving low fan base numbers like K-State,Boise,TCU and Baylor its a bad thing.
  2. People are going to start with the Plus 1 talk now but even then there will be issues. If that system was in place, Stanford would be in the tournament while Oregon would be on the outside looking in.
  3. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 4, 2011 -> 07:13 PM) Because there is simply not enough to base that on. Says who? People who dont want to see a rematch of two SEC teams. I dont need computers to tell me who the top 2 teams in the country are. I've seen Alabama and OK State play enough to say that Alabama is the better team. It's not Alabama's fault that Florida,Auburn and Miss St decided to have a big drop off from last season. Alabama has 4 wins against teams that were in the top 25 when they faced them. Oklahoma State has 4 wins against top 25 teams when they faced them too.
  4. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 4, 2011 -> 06:43 PM) OSU had 5 wins over the last top 25 BCS teams. Alabama had 2. OSU has 7 wins over teams with winning records while Alabama has 3. OSU won their conference, Alabam did not. Anyone who thinks Alabama is more deserving is crazy. They are going to go to the NC game based on being Alabama, and also having more preseason votes. But that is the system we have to deal with. How is thinking Alabama deserving a title spot crazy if you think they are the second best team in the country. OK-State fans can cry all they want but all they had to do was beat a 6-6 Iowa State team and there is no debate whatsoever.
  5. SEC hate is because of their fans. Nothing more annoying that listening to fans of teams of teams like Ole Miss and Miss St chanting SEC SEC SEC because LSU, Alabama or Florida wins a title.
  6. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Dec 4, 2011 -> 05:52 PM) I can't believe you're serious. Of course, you don't watch much college football anyway. Iowa St > LSU? Exactly. Alabama is the second best team in the country so they deserve the spot. OK-State has no one to blame but themselves for blowing a 17 point lead and losing to a crap team. And I think Alabama beats LSU.
  7. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Dec 3, 2011 -> 11:55 PM) He annoys me. Sounds like he's getting an orgasm off a 3 yard rush or a free throw, whatever sport he's calling. I dont mind the excitement on plays like the one where Wilson hit the big 4th down pass that led to the eventual game winning score. But there was a kickoff return in the 3rd quarter that was brought back to midfield and I thought Gus was busting a nut on the play.
  8. this Big 10 title game is reminding me how much I enjoy games not called by Gus Johnson.
  9. The Chik-Fil-A Challenge is Tennessee and NC State? Pretty lackluster on the national appeal. That Georgia,Miss St,Alabama,South Carolina is a tough stretch. edit---didnt realize the Chik-Fil-A Kickoff is having two games this year. Is it back to back nights?
  10. Miami played hard but was outmatched inside. Wouldve been nice to have Reggie Johnson because I think they couldve given Purdue a run for their money tonight. Shane Larkin (Barry's kid) is really starting to come along. He's the best PG on the team and hopefully Larranaga starts giving him more minutes over the veteran Scott. Nice to get him from DePaul.
  11. Even the Italian national soccer team is impressed with this flop.
  12. Miami @ Purdue Northwestern @ Georgia Tech Illinois @ Maryland Michigan @ Virginia Clemson @ Iowa Duke @ Ohio State Indiana @ NC State Penn St. @ Boston College Florida St. @ Michigan St. Virginia Tech @ Minnesota Wake Forest @ Nebraska Wisconsin @ North Carolina Big Ten 8-4 There are some brutal teams in the ACC this year. Maryland is offensively challenged and BC flat out sucks. I'll take PSU to not suck as much. I think Miami wouldve had a good chance against Purdue if they had their big guys playing. Losing our 6-10 center who averaged 12/9 last year is killing us. He wont be back until January. His back up who couldnt score but atleast provided size and rebounds is out for the year. We have no size really so we're a jump shooting team. If we're on then Miami has a chance. Problem is that our shooters are either blazing hot or ice cold so you never know. It's safer to assume they'll be off. Last Friday we were down 17-0 in the first 7 minutes at Ole Miss before finally getting hot to make it 29-25 at the half. Then we blew a 5 point lead in the final 5 minutes when the shots started to miss and one of our better players fouled out. Ended up losing by 3 in OT.
  13. but the kid is good. South Florida has the best talent in the state by far but Lakeland is one of the premier football schools in the state. It hurts losing a prospect like Southward though.
  14. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 27, 2011 -> 07:36 PM) Osu stole one of your recruits today Zen. Looks like Urban poaching Lakeland I saw that. Meyer has a good relationship with Lakeland and if Miami is going to lose a recruit, I guess its best it happens at a position that we have some talent on. We'll see if my theory of Rivals and their star rankings holds true on this switch. He was a 0 star recruit with Miami so let's see if he gets a few star bump since he is committed to OSU now. A few years ago Miami got a commit from a local WR with 0 stars. A week later he changes to Florida and somehow magically turned into a 4 star recruit. haha also grumblings of UF QB Jeff Driskell leaving the program and following Meyer to OSU. edit---Frankie Hammond Jr was the UF WR that went from 0 stars to 4 stars just by committing to the Gators.
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 27, 2011 -> 09:18 AM) The Bernie Fine case just got taken up another notch with his wife being recorded absolutely admitting to everything he's done. That Outside the Lines report on ESPN.com with the wife admitting to it was worth the read. Especially the part where the guy who was molested had a relationship with the wife when he was 18. Bizarre. I was kinda on sketchy if these allegations were true based until I read how the Secret Service was getting involved the other day. Now this comes out. Wow...
  16. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 27, 2011 -> 02:15 AM) Notre Dame's QB Andrew Hendrix looked very good vs. Stanford tonight. Kind of excited about a QB who is mobile but can actually throw, and throw pretty well. Dude has a cannon arm and was very fast for a QB. He looked like what Tebow wishes he was. ND fans should be happy if that kid can be half the college QB Tebow was.
  17. I know its early and Meyer left Florida without talent on offense but I think Texas dodged a bullet with Muschamp going to Florida. When Mack finally steps down, they can go out a get a guy qualified to be the HC of Texas.
  18. Remember the day after Labor Day and the hype Maryland was getting because of their uniforms and how the next great young QB threw for 350 yards against a depleted and horrific Miami team? Well fast forward 12 weeks and that same Maryland team finishes 2-10 with their only win since Labor Day was versus Towson. Their "great" QB is benched during the season and they lose by 31 to Temple and give up 42 straight second half points in their finale vs NCST and lose 56-41. Guess Randy Edsall and Scott Van Pelt didnt see this coming in early September.
  19. Hopefully its Houston vs Michigan in the Sugar Bowl. Atleast that game will be 45-41 and entertaining. If Michigan has to face a BCS conference champ not from the Big East then they will get smoked.
  20. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 25, 2011 -> 06:01 PM) The gap between LSU and Alabama and the rest of the country is just massive this year. No one else is capable of playing with those two teams. yet people are still going to cry that another team deserves it over Alabama.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 24, 2011 -> 06:34 PM) If the dolphins and their friend tony romo can hold this lead, this would be a great day for the Bears. The coaches are to blame for Miami losing today. They played for field goals and Miami trying to run Bush up the middle on first and goal from the 3 is just stupid.
  22. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 24, 2011 -> 03:08 PM) Didn't Haynesworth run his cleats on the forehead of someone? yeah, what Haynesworth did was much worse.
  23. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Nov 24, 2011 -> 02:54 PM) Hopefully this is a confidence crushing loss for the Lions and they rattle off a 4-5 game losing streak. the Lions are in full meltdown mode now. Whenever the going gets tough, they start to fold up and act like b****es. Must take after their head coach.
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 10:42 AM) Even so, they had to have some talent if they were ranked 18, even if they don't put it together. I really wasn't going to get hyped up for Haith's first season, even though I was not as upset as some by his hiring. I think Miami is a black hole for bball. And I probably put too much in the loss of Bowers, and not enough in the incredible play we will get out of English, Denmon and P Pressey. Denmon's efficiency to go with English's leadership and pressey's great D right now are an group. I'm excited to catch a game. This team appears to be much more efficient on offense than with anderson. Miami won a Big East regular season title and was on their way to better things before Hamilton left to go to the Wizards. Haith had a couple of decent seasons at Miami record wise. What got Miami fans not liking Haith was how bad he would be outcoached in any game that came down to the final few minutes. And he was absolutely dreadful at designing a play out of a timeout. I swear the guy couldnt figure out a way to beat the press his entire time at Miami. Just totally clueless. He may look better now that he is supervising more talent but I find it pretty impossible to believe he is now a good coach just because he moved.
