  1. Point shaving rumors going strong about Hawaii football. The NCAA has really had a great year and a half in college football. I guess Hawaii was 21pt favorites against UNLV this year. The ML dropped from 1600 to 900 just before kickoff and Hawaii went on to lose that game.
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 10:29 AM) McCoy = Shady oh yeah, totally just read over that.
  3. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 03:48 PM) Anyone else contribute to that besides Fitzgerald, Shady and Baldwin? McCoy
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 05:15 PM) Versus makes the right call and will air the Penguins game tonight! I was pissed because I wanted the Bruins on but the NHL needs to market their stars.
  5. barring a Vince Wilfork TD tonight, the streak of 149 consecutive weeks of a TD scored by a former Miami Hurricane player will come to an end. Last time a NFL week was played without a former Cane scoring a TD was Week 14 of the 2002 season.
  6. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 04:47 PM) Any links to the Bears game? http://www.firstrowsports.tv/watch/93461/1...cago-bears.html
  7. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 04:41 PM) That 4th down run by the punter on the first drive was killer too. They had a 3 & out, and got a great rush on the punt, but the rush was too good and the punter scrambled for the 1st down, and the Pack scored on that drive. yeah, that was a big back breaker. It should have been a block for a TD or Bucs ball in the redzone. Instead it turns out to be a 15 yard run and eventual 7-0 Packer lead. I guess when youre 9-0 those breaks go in your direction and when you're 4-5 they dont go in yours.
  8. Miami self imposes a bowl ban for this year. Kinda sucks right now but I'm sure this will help lessen any type of punishment the NCAA may give the school. Give up the bowl game and move onto the future.
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 03:35 PM) Bengals suddenly don't look so hot now that they are facing some real competition. Very impressive performance for the Buccs so far, although I still expect GB to pull out the victory. Freeman finally started throwing the ball well again today. He hurt his thumb against the Bears and his passes have looked horrible and soft coming out of his hand the past couple weeks. Packers only drove the ball down the field 3 times for TDs but the two failed onside kick attempts led to 14 points and that was killer today.
  10. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 02:17 PM) I hope you guys didn't miss this fight either. Sitting cageside, it was the best fight I probably will ever see in person. bring Bellator to Orlando!
  11. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 11:35 AM) Shouldn't the "greatest fight in UFC history" not have almost three full rounds of both fighters being absolutely gassed? Who cares if both fighters were gassed in the last 2 rounds. That is what happens when a fighter goes all out for a stoppage and the other guy survives. And even after they gassed, Shogun was nailing Henderson with some big shots and mounted Henderson 4 times. It was exciting. Pick out a better UFC match. Only bad thing about that fight was how the judges didnt give Henderson a 10-8 in the third and Shogun a 10-8 in the 5th. Instead of 48-47 it should have been 47-46.
  12. QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 19, 2011 -> 11:30 PM) Chip Kelly tops anything Les Miles has done with that impossibly poor clock management. Oregon was moving the ball at will and failed to use their timeout and settled on a FG with a kicker who is 6/10. I have no idea how you do that. Lot's of bad coaching tonight. Did you see Jimbo Fischer?
  13. Holy f***ing hell! Greatest fight in UFC history!!
  14. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Nov 19, 2011 -> 03:15 PM) Neither Oregon nor Alabama should be in there. But someone who lost at home in the meat of the season doesn't deserve it at all. Then who belongs there? The BCS is suppose to put the top 2 teams in there, rematch or not.
  15. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 11:57 PM) Even though it probably should be LSU-Alabama...man, thats going to be the most boring title game ever. Atleast it will be close. With 6 weeks off, I think the last non boring title game we've had was the Texas-USC game.
  16. What was the Iowa State coach thinking not calling the timeout with 2 minutes left? You have all 3, so burn one and save yourself 40 seconds. Just stupid. and he gets lucky!!
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 08:52 PM) This Iowa State QB is terrible! Did you see his tackling effort on the pick 6? lol
  18. QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 06:01 PM) Dude come on. You're trying to say a guy that won 2 National titles in the span of a few years was bad for the program. I know you hate Florida so you have no chance of looking at this realistically, but come on. You went a long way to discredit a coach who has no business being discredited. You basically just said 'Yeah, he won two national titles, but he didn't leave the program in position for a third so he's not that good.' I've read my post a few times now so I'm going to need you to point out where I said he was bad for the program. And everything I said (minus recruiting straight off of Rivals b/c I really dont know that but it sure looks like he did) is true. Everyone wants to talk about him being this spread option guru but any smart Gator fan will be the first to tell you it was Dan Mullen who was the mastermind behind it all. I watch just about every Gator game and in Tebow's last season, that offense was anemic without Mullen there calling the plays. The joke among Gator fans was that the playbook was 5 plays deep. And last year was even worse. He relied heavily on assistants like a lot of head coaches do. But when his assistants starting leaving, especially Doc Holliday going to WVU, there wasnt a slight drop off but a major drop in recruiting and on the field. So either Meyer got burned out and cashed it in during the last 2 years or his assistants were the ones making him look really good. Probably somewhere in between.
  19. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 05:00 PM) There is nothing wrong with that. That's how Ron Turner managed to recruit two brothers named Mendenhall and that worked out pretty well for Illinois. Nothing wrong with it as long as you think the better of the package is worth 2 scholarships. Plus Miami might may not be able to afford just giving away spots if the NCAA decides to take some ships away.
  20. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 04:42 PM) Which time? When he took that leave of absence, he was only gone for like 2 months. Florida begged him to come back(which was dumb on their part) and the whole 2 month leave of absence was something they fed to the media. He wasnt gone for spring practices.
  21. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 10:26 AM) And then boom, Zooker gets one of the top outside LB's in the country: http://espn.go.com/chicago/ncf/story/_/id/...job-uncertainty only because Brown wanted to be a package with his brother and no other school was willing to offer his brother. Brown is talented but he doesnt bring it on the field. I would still take him at Miami because maybe the right coach can light a fire and get this kid rolling. Who knows really...
  22. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 01:46 PM) Ha, I've been saying Meyer at OSU pretty much since Tressel was fired. The only reason to think it wouldn't happen is his health, and we have precedent for him ignoring that with his "leave of abscense" at Florida. health was code for "Tebow is leaving and I'm f***ed because I didnt bother recruiting anyone worth a damn so I better quit now so I dont embarrass myself".
  23. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 11:23 AM) Why would he leave Florida, who was still in pretty good shape, for health reasons, and then come back 2 years later? He left the UF talent pool in shambles. He recruited no offensive weapons during his last year or two. They dont have a running back who can run against SEC teams. Their WR corps sucks. Recruited a QB who couldnt fit into his offense. You can say if Meyer doesnt have a great system QB, ie Tebow or Alex Smith, his offense will suck. He came in to a loaded program, won a title with Zook's players and then continued that momentum in getting some great talents that he didnt really have to work for because UF was the top school at the time. Dan Mullen leaves and his offense starts to slow up. Tebow leaves and he is lost out there. He basically recruited right off of the Rivals website, which at times is a joke. He was getting 4 and 5 star recruits in the Rivals top 100 lists but there were lots of talk among local/state scouts who said a lot of those players were major reaches and overrated hype. With all the bad pub OSU has gotten over the past year, they need a big splash as their new coach. I wouldnt go in that direction if I was OSU but its pretty understandable why they would. He is available right now and you cant take the chance of him going elsewhere and OSU striking out in trying to lure a coach from another school to Columbus. I think the perfect coach for OSU would be Butch Davis. But the timing of him getting fired at UNC along with the OSU/NCAA thing is just bad right now.
  24. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 11:36 PM) Also, John Elway looked legitimately pissed when the Broncos scored the go ahead touchdown. This is actually a bad thing for their franchise long term. You can't sustain an offense with a QB who can't make a single NFL throw. He wasnt pissed. And all because they are winning games now doesnt mean Tebow is an automatic shoe-in to be the starter next year. The Ravens didnt bring Dilfer back after winning a Super Bowl and Dilfer was actually putting up decent passing numbers at times.
