Was Hawk talking about Brian Anderson just now? Or maybe Josh Fields?

86-89. I recall the 2000 spring training starting crappy and ending up with the sox on fire. I don't think this team is as bad as many claim. I feel this certain vibe with this bunch, like if everyone is happy and has a sense of relief things have changed, a lot people having each othersbacks as a team... We'll have to see

Agreed, I just think the same thing, for the sox to have a successful rebuild Kenny has to be far away -

Are you guys kidding me??? Fighting and insulting one and another cause of a stupid baseball player? Really??? Some of you need to chiill out and get a life, mark is no longer with the sox, so face it the world ain't gonna end, there will be other favorites sooner than later, you tip you're cap to mark he was always classy in his 12 solid seasons, but he's gone and no insult is gonna make that change. GROW UP -

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 05:57 PM) Well hell, for 4/58, I don't care of KW was able to make his trades first or not. I love Mark, but he isn't worth that risk. Florida is out of their minds doing this, and the rest of the disaster they are staging. That said, I will stand and cheer for Mark on his return to The Cell. Classy guy, and one of my faves of all time on the Sox. I hope he does great, except against us. And I can't blame him for taking the deal, even with the circus. Sounds like most teams were offering 3 years, in the $36M-$39M territory. Kind of hard to turn down $20M guaranteed. Like fathom said, if he went for 3/36 or something, then I'd be more pissed at KW. As it is, better we didn't sign him. Man good post, agree 100% -
No one gonna cry about this one??? Lastings Milledge - OF - Player Lastings Milledge has signed a two-year contract with the Tokyo Swallows of the Nippon Professional Baseball league. Milledge batted .295/.364/.441 with 12 homers and 27 steals over 444 at-bats for Triple-A Charlotte this year, but that evidently wasn't enough to draw much interest from major league clubs. Just 26, he has time to return to the states after hoping to making an impact overseas. Source: Scot Drucker on Twitter Dec 7 - 5:53 PM

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 05:42 PM) It looks like another Sox pitcher might be heading to the Marlins as well.. Marlins are very interested in trading for John Danks. Hell will freeze over or Kenny would have to be blown away, no way he let's Ozzie have his best pitcher -
This is sad LOL Date: Team: Pos: Brent Lillibridge - OF - White Sox Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the White Sox player drawing the most trade interest from other teams has been Brent Lillibridge. The Sox were supposed to be one of the most active teams at the Winter Meetings, but the only move they've made to this point has been to trade Sergio Santos. They've put John Danks, Gavin Floyd and Carlos Quentin on the block, but so far nothing has been close to materializing. Lillibridge was a nice utility player for the Sox in 2011 but wouldn't bring back much in a trade. Source: FOXSports.com Dec 7 - 5:25 PM

QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 05:21 PM) It's pretty clearly all about getting the 4th year added to the deal. Every media member was saying last night that the first team to give him the 4th year gets him. In my opinion, this has nothing to do with Ozzie being there. I agree he wanted a final big payday and security which he got and good for mark, he gave the sox 12 great seasons, he probably didn't wanna go through a rebuild at this stage in his carrer. Players move on so do we, thanks mark you were a hell of a player for us, but you've moved on so will I. I bet if the sox were in the hunt for him he would have stayed here no doubt. In hindsight Kenny sould have traded him at the deadline, they knew he wasn't comming back, hawk knew too when he said what he said in Mark's final game. Now Kenny you're on the clock to start the rebuild. -

Wow money talks bulls*** walks, didn't mark call out Ozzie this past year? Now he plays for him... And I love mark, but the marlins over payed bad -
LOL!

That happens and kenny needs to be taken to the Russian front......
-
Something makes no sense here... Jays are fielding calls on Drabek so they'll need pitching to comeup, trading you're #2 prospect for a closer I just don't get it. That shows you the sox weren't too high on Santos or Kenny sold really high and fleeced the jays, or the other way around. I'm thinking sale is you're closer now

WHAT THE FU....?????

Toronto's got an interesting prospect in David Cooper I think his name is......

Too bad neither bill James or zips projections pitch.......

QUOTE (sunofgold @ Oct 8, 2011 -> 04:35 PM) How about Frank Thomas as a hitting coach. I thought that he said in an interview that he would do it. Also, that move would get a lot of support from White Sox fans. For bench coach, how about Fisk? I know that "no experience" again. But, catchers seems to make good coaches/manager. And again a fan favorite. Frank was a great hitter but frank's hitting style ain't for everyone, remember walt wriniak was frank's mentor and walt's style ain't for everyone

Parent as a back up catcher sould have some good knowledge which will help, still they need a veteran coach, but who? Who will be willing to come in and not be the manager and just a young manager
