QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 08:32 AM) ...just ended my (engaged) relationship of 3.5 years. This was my first relationship, so I have no experience with breakup Someone tell me this gets better... You'll get through it man, like another poster said pick up a hobby, start workin out, hang out with some buddies, or what i did listen to all your favorite music. I was dating a girl for 3 years, she was everything I wanted in a girl, beautiful puerto rican, was in a band, loved music like i do, she loved going to the batting cages, shootin hoops, bowling, and just going in the backyard and playing catch, she loved going to my rugby games, loved to sit home and watch the game, she was legit my perfect girl. Then out of nowhere i get a call FROM HER BEST FRIEND saying its over, never got a chance to talk to her or anything, dont know what it was about nothing...2 months later i make a new facebook and she pops up in my people i might now list(she previously had me block) only to find out shes engaged. The heart ache I was going through for the first week or so was turrable but then i would just lose myself in music and just zone her out. you gotta lose yourself into something, dont think about her, dont stress over her or itll only make matters worse! Cheers buddy

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 06:24 PM) Pyramid Scheme. true but theres still money to be made You make 25% of what you sell. If you manage to get 5 coaches to do p90x or any of the other top level fitness programs you make your money back plus a 100 bucks which even it stops there I'm fine with, I just got paid a 100 bucks to do p90x and take some shake....those 5 people you get however are more than likely gonna wanna get the shakes for another 2 months while theyre 90 day challenge is goin on and at 15 dollars per order of shakeology youre lookin at another 150 bucks over that 2 month period....so if you only get 5 people your bound to make at least 250 bucks plus your original investment back.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 03:01 PM) No way Herm was pushing 400 pounds. I don't think he's very tall. I would be shocked if he was over 300 before this, let alone near 400. A 400 pounds guy of average height can barely walk around normally, let alone trot from the dugout like Herm did (in an admittedly jiggly fashion). False. I played semi pro rugby at 370...I'd say Herm was about 320 or so -
So who wants to get fit and get paid?? I just signed up to be a fitness/motivational coach for http://beachbodycoach.com/esuite/home/Beasthart . It's an incredible opportunity, you do have to sign up/buy a challenge pack to become a coach. The challenge pack is $239 dollars (tax and shipping included) and you get a fitness program like p90x, some delicious and nutritious Shakeology shakes, and you become a club member which gives you access to a ton of helpful stuff and can earn you money! I signed up yesterday and already made 70 bucks and I haven't even began my p90x program yet! I'd love to start a challenge with those of you that are interested, best transformation wins a pair of Sox tickets on me! whoevers down I'll start a facebook page for us to see how everyones doin and make it real legit.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 05:23 PM) This is perfect for a message board debate seeing as it will never happen, but #2 to me is clearly the best option. Deng somehow stays(seemingly impossible to me), Boozer comes off the books and is replaced by a superior player in Taj, and oh year, you have Dwight Howard at center. Rose-Watson Rip-Brewer Deng-Turkoglu-Korver Taj-FA?? Howard-Asik I'd love for that free agent ?? to be Rasheed Wallace, there were talks of him wanting to play this season right? Would Przybilla work at PF next to Asik? -

http://www.drafttek.com/CMDRound1_17-32.asp would love to see this draft for the bears. Based on this draft I'd go with Alshon over Dwight Jones and in the 6th I'd go with Russell Wilson over the RB they had the bears taking, If the Bears wanna go with a RB in the 6th I'd rather have Herron. I'd go with 1 RD Decastro 2 RD Jeffery WR 3 RD Cam Johnson DE 3 RD Orson Charles TE 4 RD Nate Potter OT 5 RD Cliff Harris CB 6 RD Russel Wilson QB Based on this draft -

Ive thought about your question all day marty and couldnt come up with anything adequate enough, i have failed. So ill just fight back with more s*** like, how is signing Adam Dunn when your teams biggest need from the previous year was a LH power bat a bad move? Would you of rather had lets say Carlos Pena? The Giambino? Would you rather have Dewayne Wise or a guy who looked to be a 5 tool player that averaged .290+ BA, 15+ HR, 75+ RBI, 15+SB the previous 3 years? And Im sure Peavy was given a physical and tests to make sure he'll be able to fully recover from the injury he had when we got him. So we just picked up one of the most dominating pitchers in the game the previous 3 or 4 years for Clayton Richard who did nothing for us for 2 years and some other replaceable parts who could be replaced From the looks of it KW was just trying to win by adding good players that just didnt work out. -

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 04:18 PM) This is the dumbest argument of all. Kenny gets paid a handsome sum to evaluate talent correctly. What sort of evaluation could be done thats gonna tell him that Rios wasnt gonna be good after 3 straight years of batting over .290 and driving in 80+ rbis What sort of evaluation could be done thats gonna tell him that Dunn was going to hit like he did after putting up the type of power numbers he has the previous 10 seasons What sort of evaluation could be done thats gonna tell him that Peavy wouldnt be able to bounce back and be an ace? is there anyway i could go back and look at the threads that broke the news when we got these guys, id like to see what people thought back then -

Hey marty were you on board when they signed Dunn, and acquired Peavy and Rios? All this KW hate is really getting old, those 3 guys were all once all star level players, and none of em were old or deemed washed up. How was Kenny supposed to know they werent going to perform with white sox? -
Youngs played some 3rd in his day how about we give him a shot in the Elder statesman role vacated by Omar

QUOTE (daggins @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 12:09 AM) How long do you think KW can milk that particular cow? It is not an unfair assessment to say he has spent the last 5 years or so running the Sox into the ground. How was Kenny supposed to know Dunn was gonna be that bad, that was a great addition at the time and should of had us set for a run as WS contenders. Or biggest need from the previous season was a LH/DH he got that. Our biggest need going into the 2010 season was a lead off hitter, he got that in Juan Pierre..though the Kotsay/Jones DH platoon was a bad move, but wasnt it Ozzie that wanted it? He then got Manny Ramirez who when healthy was raking in LA so just like Dunn this looked to be a great move, he didnt know that he all of a sudden wouldnt produce. They made the playoffs in 08 so it would seem that major changes wouldnt be needed in 09, a year in which he got Dayan Viciedo who everyone loves. They made the playoffs in 08 after a terrible 07 as i said before 07 was terrible but KW did manage to get us Floyd and Danks that year 06 they were just coming off a WS championship and KW added Jim Thome to the mix I wouldnt say hes been great, but i for sure wouldnt say hes ran this team into the ground the last 5 years. -

So what happens if Dunn and Rios are good next year and you've traded everything else around them? You have to give them a shot at turning it around under the new coaches. Could you imagine how irate you and the whole fan base would be if Dunn puts up 40/100, Rios puts up 2010 numbers but the rest of their team id filled with unproven spects that might not even pan out....It was just a year ago(2010) where dunn and rios put up a combined 60 home runs, 191 RBIs, and scored 174 runs. You gotta see if the can turn it around, if you add that to the consistency of PK, AJ, Lexi, get what we expect out of Dayan, have a whole year of Morel and De Aza playing like they did down the stretch the Sox have themselves a championship caliber offense. As far as the bullpen goes, look at what the Rays did last year, they almost lost every piece of that pen from the previous year and they still made the playoffs. With Reed, Crain, And Thornton youve got youre good 7th-8th-9th inning guys which are the most valuable of the relievers, you've got Ohman who is a very good Loogy and a guy who can come in late innings to get out a tough lefty. Then youve got so many guys who can contribute to the bullpen that will battle it out in spring training and the best ones will win those spots. I like having the competition because relievers are always so hard to project so I'd want the best man coming out of spring instead of a set guy who might blow up anyway. One lefty spot left in the pen (if they go with 3 LHers) and Stultz, Veal, Quintana, Hernandez, and maybe even Santiago(who If slated for the pen would be my pick to win the spot) all battling it out. Then you've got guys like guys like Stewart, Axelrod, Marinez, Infante, and Castro(though im hoping hes being used as a starter) battling it out for the RH spots. I would like another RH to throw into that mix and theres still plenty of time and bodies in FA to get that. Just sit back, relax, and strap it down. Just because theos making moves doesnt mean kenny has to too.

Another White Sox / Blue Jays trade on the horizon?
2nd_city_saint787 replied to striker's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 7, 2012 -> 05:12 PM) I'm not ruling out the Sox being competitive next year...I just want you guys to realize how far away this team is right now. Right now, with what we've lost, we're starting as like a 72 win team. We need another what, 20 wins before we're going to be a legitimately competitive team? I see that there's lots of room for improvement, you don't have to list the guys, and the only guys who might take a step back are Konerko and Thornton because most everyone simply can't even play worse, but understand this...we could see legit improvement from 10 different guys on this roster and still be a .500 team. Adam Dunn alone can't be the key, we need it up and down the list. We could see Beckham, Dunn, and Morel on the All Star Team somehow and still be an 85 win team. What makes you think that? I know we have a lot of question marks on this team but i mean c'mon we won 88 games in 2010 with Mark kotsay as our DH. If Dunns Dunn and by Dunn i mean even 35/80 as his power numbers then i think we contend. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 7, 2012 -> 04:16 PM) Even with that though, we've already lost some major contributions from last year's team. Between Buehrle, Quentin, and Santos, that's a full 7.5+ WAR we need to replace just to get back to where we were last year. Yeah, there are guys who can step into some of those roles...but let's be clear...we need an enormous number of improvements and adequate performances from those guys' replacements for the Sox to be able to push being competitive. Sale, Dayan, and Reed will do an adequate job. Sale wont give you the 200 innings like Mark but we have a few guys now that can step in late in the season if Sales arm doesnt hold up a full year. I think the season rides on Adam Dunns shoulders, if he is the Dunn of old we compete, no question. Unless the fill ins in the bullpen dont pan out. -

QUOTE (sunofgold @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 04:01 PM) How is our bullpen going to look? Different than 2011. Sale in the rotation. Frasor and Santos traded. Crain, Thornton, and Ohman will be back. Wonder how the rest of the bullpen will be. Addison Reed as the closer. Maybe Stewart as the longer reliever. Infante? Yikes! My guess Closer: Reed RHSU:Crain LHSU: Thornton LHMR: OHman RHMR: Stewart LHLR:Santiago RHLR: Axelrod I can see those bein the set lefties(if they go with 3) with Axelrod, Stewart, Marinez, Infante, Carter(wasnt he getting some good pub last year? how was he?) and maybe even Castro battling it out in spring training as RH relievers
