Cowley just said that Cederstrom apologized to the Sox for throwing Carrasco out. They looked at the tape and admitted they were wrong.

At least the Pirates took one game, that's all I was really hoping for. And now the Cubs get the great Houston Astros.

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 03:58 PM) Natural Lite, baby. Busch Light is where it's at.

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Aug 2, 2008 -> 11:52 PM) I completely agree to both comments, especially the first. Yep, tell the 87 Cardinals and 91 Braves the dome isn't a home field advantage.

If the Twins are smart, Span will be the starting CF when Cuddyer is healthy, not Gomez.

I've done my share of complaining about the dropoff in Jenks' stuff, but he has been absolute money this year. Great game by Javy too, hopefully he can get a nice streak going.

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 06:51 PM) I'll agree with him that he doesn't look right at the plate. He's loading up way, way too late. I agree, but at the beginning of the year nobody wanted Juan anywhere near this team, now they want him starting. Fields may not look great right now but I want him in there over Uribe. Like it or not, Fields will probably be our starting 3B next year.

QUOTE (Soxman72 @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 06:47 PM) Hey at least our third baseman put the ball in play tonight. I know he just made an out, but I do like having Uribe in at third until Crede comes back. I used to be so high on Fields, but he just doesn't look right at the plate currently. Seriously, it's been a week.

The Cubs are really going to regret passing on Matt Wieters in last years draft. The guy is absolutely raking and I could see him in Baltimore by the end of the year. It's suprising too because the Cubs aren't really afraid of taking Boras guys.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 10:07 PM) OC sure seems to have more fun talking to the opposition than he does talking with his Sox mates. Would you have traded OC for Street? -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 09:59 PM) Just never let KW trade with Beane again. Only makes it worse that the Cubs got Harden for a 3-4 starter and two fourth outfielders. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 09:58 PM) Oh shut the f*** up Hawk. That should have been a routine play for Uribe. Our 3rd base defense has been absolutely brutal this season. That was an easy pick for Swisher. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 09:25 PM) Just got back home. Listening on the radio, I can't believe they let Danks start this inning. Also, please never start Fields against a righty. Suprised me as well. Not a good move by Ozzie. -

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jul 24, 2008 -> 02:14 PM) You're right about that... good point. But I still think that contracts should be honored, period... by both sides. Agreed. Whether they are fair or not, the players association agreed to all this.
