  1. I can see how your pissed, but lets not act like Uribe is the starter because he played two games in a row. However, if he's there tomorrow a lot of stuff in my house will be broken.
  2. Pathetic, that's all I can say.
  3. QUOTE (Wanne @ Jun 14, 2008 -> 07:51 PM) 2 GODDAMN HITS in the whole game!!! Yes Dick Allen...I wouldn't be sad if Walker was fired right after the game. Do I blame him entirely...no. But we need a sacrificial lamb right now. This crap cannot go on. Time for a double play.
  4. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 14, 2008 -> 08:46 PM) He is a sucking player and no amount of dinners or drinks to you is going to change that. He isnt the reason they are losing tonight, but I would rather play the guy who is hitting .287. When was the last time that uribe had that BA, 2004. ^^^^^^^^^^^^
  5. QUOTE (shawnhillegas @ Jun 14, 2008 -> 08:16 PM) Tigers and Indians are winning, we are looking like a team hanging on by luck alone right now. And we face Cook tomorrow, their only good pitcher.
  6. QUOTE (Wanne @ Jun 14, 2008 -> 08:05 PM) If he's not tossed...he's not fined. Who are you talkin' about. Quentin I saw the exact same thing in a Cubs-Reds game last year. Encarnacion threw down his helmet and the announcers thought he got tossed, but he stayed in the game and they said it was just a fine for throwing equipment.
  7. QUOTE (NorthSideSox15 @ Jun 14, 2008 -> 08:03 PM) I'm sick of this BS leadoff walk/hit that Dotel feels he must give up every outing. Yea, the guy is so damn inconsistent.
  8. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 14, 2008 -> 07:51 PM) Hurdle yanks him after 79 pitches! OMG! Yea, I just don't understand the decision.
  9. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 14, 2008 -> 07:40 PM) This is the 14th ranked pitching staff in the NL working over our team this weekend. Last nights pitcher held us in check, and now this f***ing bum is holding our team in a 1hitter. This is one of the easiest parks to hit in, and we cant score here. Embarrassing. We still scored five runs last night, can't really complain about that. This is just embarassing though.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 14, 2008 -> 07:35 PM) An 8 man bullpen for the least used bullpen in the game? Yes, you make a point, but is there any reason to have both Uribe and Ozuna on the team?
  11. It also sickens me that Uribe is starting for the second day in a row. I wish we would just release him so we don't have to worry about him playing more than he should. There's no reason to have both him and ozuna on the team anyway, I would much rather have another pitcher up here.
  12. Nice to see us getting shut out by someone with an ERA over 8
  13. Id much rather have Russell on the team than Loaiza. I assume this means Masset will move back into the long man role.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 09:29 PM) Not to mention a few more mistakes- 1. Ozzie sending Lexi again. 2. Cox sending TCQ home. 3. Swisher gets walked, then it's 1-0 to Crede, and he swings and grounds into a 5-4-3 DP. Ozzie not walking Cabrera with a base open Ozzie sending Jose out for the seventh
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2008 -> 10:38 AM) Very true...but if you're going to give him credit for doing "More with less", I think that it's a valid point that when he's done the most, he's had some of the best, most juiced up players in history. I give LaRussa a ton of credit for thinking outside the box and hiring a former catcher as his pitching coach in Dave Duncan. Dave Stewart and Dennis Eckersley wouldn't be who they were without LaRussa.
  16. In 1986 and 1987, the MVP of the NLCS came from the losing team. Who were they?
  17. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 5, 2008 -> 11:25 PM) The paper in Dekalb said NIU's junior shortstop, Bobby Stevens, is a projected 6th-15th round pick. He's a nice little player and I've seen him play probably a dozen times if not a few more, but if that is accurate, then I am not the guy a scouting department is looking for because I'd have never guessed he'd be close to that high a pick. We've got a pitcher the Royals took last year that should be picked tomorrow as well. In relevance to the thread though, I talked to a couple scouts earlier this year at an NIU game and they both LOVED our 4th round pick, O'Neil from Penn State, enough to mention him as one of the top relief arms they've seen this year. Supposedly in the Joe Smith mode as BearSox accurately said, and he could move through the system very quickly. He got taken in the 16th round by Baltimore, and NIU's friday starter Trevor Feeney got taken later by Detroit. I went to a bunch of games this year and figured he would get drafted but not this high.
  18. I would have liked Crow more, but I still like the pick. Smoak is a great prospect, but he's a first baseman while Beckham is a middle infielder.
  19. QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 02:33 PM) Yankees - Maris ('61), Mantle ('62) and Elston Howard ('63) Correct.
  20. Since it could happen again this year, what was the last team to have three different players win consecutive MVPs, and who were they?
