On the eve of this election, if anyone wants a personalized response to why they should vote for me, please PM me. Thank you, PA

Dear Soxtalk Voters, I just want to start by thanking my one supporter, without you, I wouldn't be where I am today. Secondly, to those who vehemently oppose me, well, I probably did something or said something to make you feel that way and you didn't accept my apology, so anything I say now won't really help, so eff off And finally, you, the "undecided voter;" the only thing I can say is that those of you who I have interacted with over the years should know that I am passionate and opinionated and say what I mean, even if no one understands. However, my best qualities, aside from humility and good looks, are my willingness to admit I am wrong and my teachability. (and Miss PA) I've eaten much crow over the years for crossing lines and pushing conservative agenda, as seen by my Soxtalk award for conservative though, a few years back. Yet, I've been right at times as well, and I stand by those times in conjunction with my learning experiences because that's what makes a person more mature and able to empathize and sympathize with others. For instance, I have personally sent messages at times to those individuals whom I've conflicted with and made positive amends. These are a qualities of a true leader: know how to be your own man, decipher and follow a vision, and ultimately recognize your own fallibility and need for community to help correct it. You should vote for me because even though we may disagree at times, (or most of the time, to a select few. *eyes LCR*) we can still go out to the local diner and laugh over coffee, Root for the White Sox, and enjoy a fine web community such as Soxtalk. God bless you, God bless Soxtalk, and God bless the US and A! I ask you to vote for me, PA

What happens to a group like the Branch Davidians who stockpile guns for whatever reason? Does the government watch them like hawks? (assuming all of the guns were bought legally) is there a threshold with purchasing guns? I'm against a database as described in thread. I'm for safety, but I'm against government tracking. If my demographic ever becomes the target of government persecution I don't want them coming to my door knowing exactly what kind of guns I have. I don't mean to sound like a "AM coast to coast" conspiriacy freak, but it's not far fetched. -

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 2, 2006 -> 08:05 PM) But you see, here's the remarkable thing about how poorly our health care system is constructed...it is exactly that statement which will be the death of the current American health care system. Right now, I'm pretty damn healthy. I exercise regularly, eat pretty well, don't get sick much. Have some bad knees, but that's about it. Probably similar to you. But the key about the health care system is...if people like you and I aren't paying into the large pool of insurance, if we judge that it's so expensive that it makes more sense for us to just take ourselves out of the pool for a while until our risk goes up...then it winds up leaving fewer healthy people for the insurance pool. And of course, when healthy people start to leave the insurance pool, that drives up the cost for the people who remain in the insurance pool. And when the cost goes up, it is more incentive to drive more people from the insurance pool, which literally creates a cycle that doesn't end until the system is reformed. no, I totally understand the way things work. My problem is that people are taking less and less preventive care of themselves, which costs millions of dollars, and depending on treating problems as they arise, which costs billions of dollars. My problem with that is, as you are saying, I go to the doctor's once every few years and try to take care of myself and I pay the same as someone who doesn't and drains the system of thousands of dollars over their lifetime. That is a huge problem, no pun intended. -

What I have a problem with is spending money on insurance when I didn't need it. It's like car insurance when I don't need it. All of that money goes down the drain, or rather to those in the system who need it. (I understand that's how it works and why my premiums are low.) So my question is where do we draw the line on treatable or preventable, rather, diseases? I don't have the statistics on hand, but much of our health problems are due to obesity. It's something that I've had to personal fight and the only way i've overcome it (mostly ) is by eating much more healthily (marrying a nutritionist helps) and exercising as frequently and consistently as I can. So we can argue about who should pay for what, but until we drastically change our health perspectives, we're always going to be throwing money out the window. -
new firefox has been sketchy for me too. What kind of video card do you have? Ram? in other news.... Joel Madden and Hilary Duff broke up... I always suspected some awkwardness because I knew she was young and thought he was old, but i never did the research til now. Madden March 11, 1979 Duff September 28, 1987 8 years. wow. they dated for 2.5 years. she just turned 19....the math should be easy from there.
