That sounds about right.

The first chapter was hard for me to read as it was such a brutal chapter. It's sad in hindsight, too, when Snape says that the only ones he's recently watched die are those he could not save. How did Voldemort get his wand back? Never explained anywhere. That sucks. We never learned what Harry's parents did for a living, either. I didn't like the way Wormtail died. Harry says, "I saved you!" so the hand that Voldemort gave him chokes him? And he kills himself, but not by choice? Not that I'm mad about it. I just thought that was awfully weak. (I know some people who are furious that "she killed BLANK!" or "Harry's not married to Luna!!" Dumbledore's backstory was nice, as well as Grindelwald's. I always wondered about him./

Expect Mets to seriously pursue Iguchi

Oh, and his BA's been declining for quite a bit now, showing that the more time he gets out on the field, the more exposed he's become and the closer to Earth he's fallen. -

He's hittting .317 in 180 ABs. Fairly small sample size. There's one. He's a career .251 hitter. There's two. He's twenty nine. Smells like a fluke, considering he's never been this good. Unless, of course, he's just coming into his own right as he enters his prime! -
I can't believe she had as much cursing as she did in the book. "Bastard" and "b****" made their first appearances, as far as I can remember. And Dumbledore's sister was -- I'm not making this up -- gangraped by three Muggle boys when she was six years old. It was important to the plot, and she doesn't say that OUTRIGHT, but you know that's what happened. Snape's story was the best of all, though, and his two chapters are my favorites in the book. Lupin's confrontation with Harry was nice, too.

Anyone ever been? Basically, people submit short, funny chat transcripts, get approved or rejected, and then they get put up. Some of my most recent (ie: today) favorites, heh, i made up 'heh' That's a pretty outrageous claim. i've being sayin it since 96 "Too few women on the internet? There are lots of women on the internet, only most of them are naked and in JPG-format." I love you. I just wanted you to know, incase you were starting to doubt. My bro's not here right now, and by the way he's cheating on you. Now if I had to follow a religion it would be whatever them clapping black people follow. That looks fun. (I know that last one's pretty risque, but it's still rather funny. I don't think it's too line-crossing, though, but if a mod has issue, please delete that) I remember when my mom first got on the internet, about 2 years ago. She *almost* had it figured out. she managed to use a search engine, and found a web page she was interested in. so she printed it out, stuck it in an envelope, and _mailed_ it to me so I could see it too. Nugget94M: hehe, i guess she didnt know about email? she knew about email. it just never dawned on her that she could mail the url. my friend use to put his cat in a pillowcase and throw it down the stairs when we were little. the cat's name was Oscar. i use to to call him Oscar the grouch, because he was grouchy a lot of the time. Maybe he was grouchy because you f***ing threw it down the stairs in a pillowcase, genius. The Epilogue was, IMO, garbage, especially the last page. The rest of the book was, IMO, brilliant.

Expect Mets to seriously pursue Iguchi
Gregory Pratt replied to Gene Honda Civic's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 21, 2007 -> 01:22 PM) And yet, the Atlanta Braves would not even be in the playoff hunt in the NL East right now without what Willie has given them. It's called a "fluke." I only hope that if Richar's fluke year comes, if it ever comes, it'll be in similar circumstances for us. -

Yeah, I'm not excited about Richar. I look forward to seeing him and hope he does well, but I've been pointing out for a long time that the league is terrible and all numbers in it are skewed. If we could unload Contreras + Iguchi for a nice package -- nothing gangbusters, as that doesn't warrant it -- that'd be good. Might be interesting if we offer, oh, Garland or Vazquez in place of Contreras but along with Iguchi and insist on a bunch. -
Sorry, Tony, we're back in it.

Let's stop calling this bullpen, in April or especially now, a "fireballer" pen. They weren't even fireballers in March. They wouldn't be fireballers on the sun.

It's a terrible league.

The .198 Hinske overshift, Ozzie's brilliance at work

Yeah, I didn't understand that one. That WAS bad. -
You know, I have no intention of spoiling anything for anyone unless they want me to, but I've always taken issue with the term "spoiler" or whatever. In Greece, they used to tell and re-tell stories and the children would know stories before they'd read them or been told them formally because it wasn't about the story -- it was about the message, and what happens and all that. It was about the beauty of what was written, how. Remember Book Six? When Snape kills Dumbledore? You know, there was a famous spoiler involving that all over the Web. Well, I don't quite get it. "Snape kills Dumbledore," sure, you know what happens -- but you don't know why, you don't know how, you don't know any context or meaning or any of the other million things that occur. If I tell you right now that Fenrir Greyback eats all of Hogwarts' House Elves and that puts a curse on Voldemort, I'd be lying, but why should that spoil the book for anyone? I know some people who learned something or other and are now like, "s***, I'm not reading! Waah waah!" It's crazy as can be. (I mentioned Snape/DD from Book Six because that was years ago and it doesn't count, IMO, as a spoiler anymore than if I mention Wormtail's betrayal of the Potters in book three or Mad-Eye Moody being a fake in book four or Sirius dying in book five. It's just an example.)

QUOTE(Beastly @ Jul 20, 2007 -> 12:35 PM) I really like what I see so far out of Haeger, perhaps a relief role would be better for him because then people don't see him all that much and know how to hit against him like the last few spot starts he has had with the White Sox. As for Wassermann, are we looking at a Wunsch/Bradford arm? What have scouts said about him? I don't know much about him so if you could fill me in on him I'd appreciate it. Haeger only had one spot start for us last year, if I recall correctly.

Yeah, "The Seventh Horcrux" was a fanfic. I read something completely different. For what it's worth, The Real Book is only available in pictures and PDF. In .rar, is what I mean, by pictures. Kreacher's Tale is in the book I read. And the book I read matches up perfectly with the NYT Review this morning.

It's about 95% sure that the version I read -- which I'm assuming is yours, too, Jim -- is for real. The writing is exactly like Rowling's, the plot sticks up, explanations are had. There are no signs of forgery on the document. Rumor's been that Rowling released a fake one to f*** with people, but I doubt that very much. She released a whole book that conveniently follows everything perfect and makes a ton of sense? No way.

Who told you it was a fanfic?

Michael Vick Accepts Plea Deal Per ESPN

I dislike PETA, but they're right in this case. -
If you're reading the super long one, Jim, you're reading the real one. The other "leak" was just five or so pages and so when people say, "There's one or two versions out" that's true but not really.

Russia has sent Santa an eviction notice. No, I'm not kidding -- they're drinking again. Putin has claimed the North Pole! (Per Time.)

Michael Vick Accepts Plea Deal Per ESPN
Gregory Pratt replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I really hope Michael Vick goes to prison for a long time. And I really hope there's no plea bargain. Steff: you say there's no surprise for you about the extent of the dogfighting. Most people don't, and I didn't, either, until I learned about some people in my neighborhood who were arrested for it. As far as I've been told, dogfighting is VERY popular in inner cities everywhere, particularly with gangs. And if you think the punishment for "weakness" or "losing" is severe -- the training is brutal. Last year, my house was broken into in November and my older cat got out. He was just relaxing in the backyard when I found him, chasing a rat, but I was terrified because I thought, "What if someone took him to give him to a dog to train him for a dogfight?" That's one way people brutalize their dogs: give them cats, slap them with the cat, force them to destroy the cat, sometimes even a dead cat. (Read about it.) It is a really, really f***ed up world. (My other cat doesn't generally like people. Runt gets jealous when girlfriends come over, and Runt gets nervous when someone strange comes in without me, so she goes under the bed. Well, I have one more, too, but she wasn't around at the time, and I don't know what she'd do if someone broke in. Probably hide inside the couch.) -

The 1 Percent are probably people who were convicted, indicted or arrested improperly.
