  1. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 6, 2007 -> 03:56 PM) What an idiotic thought. Seriously. Molina is not a "prospect," and we shouldn't call up our best "prospects" from the minor leagues, we should call up our best "options." Donald Lucy is a better catching prospect than Molina, but he isn't a better option. I know that is bad, but that is the position Ozzie Kenny put his team in. f*** YOU QUINLANN. LEAVE BUEHRLE ALONE I miss Uribe's D.
  2. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 6, 2007 -> 03:52 PM) I am most of the most fair people there are. I'm just saying. -- Goddamn, we are a bad team.
  3. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 6, 2007 -> 03:51 PM) Man on third, less than two out, and we're most likely going to strand 'em! Makes me fuzzy inside I'll bet it does.
  4. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 6, 2007 -> 03:51 PM) What a f***ing grinder. Doing the small things to win games. Blow me. Do you praise him when he does things right?
  5. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 6, 2007 -> 03:44 PM) It comes up in a google image search for "Brian Anderson" Thanks. I
  6. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 6, 2007 -> 03:42 PM) You can argue that we're all getting older Just playing. Brian Anderson. No it isn't.
  7. Absolutely. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 6, 2007 -> 02:24 PM) After what has happened in NY this season, I am sure Cashman gave Roger a blank check.... I would think by the 2nd half of the season it would be Clemens Pettitte Wang Moose Hughes Not bad. Not particularly good, either.
  8. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 6, 2007 -> 08:59 AM) I would think Maddux more than Pedro in the sustainable department. Pedro has had some injury issues for the past couple of years Good catch, but I was just using Pedro as an example in the stuff department although that's not necessarily a fine one either as he had so many K pitches. But I think you know what I meant.
  9. Oscar De La Hoya lacks aggression. He's a disgrace.
  10. Because Liriano and Felix are injured by what makes them amazing. The greatest pitchers, IMO, the greatest sustainable pitchers will always be guys with filthy changeups and damn good fastballs with a few other plus pitches as well. Think Pedro, or Maddux.
  11. I don't think Erstad's getting too much defense. Just me. Feels like it, anyway.
  12. /mouths something about intangibles, hustle /mouths something about Erstad's numbers being skewed by the bad early start /mouths something about leaving this discussion /does
  13. QUOTE(Craig Grebeck @ May 5, 2007 -> 06:13 PM) It's not Erstad v. Anderson---it's whether or not Erstad has been damn good. He hasn't. Maybe if we scrapped this "lightning in a bottle" strategy and tried to acquire a real CF we wouldn't suck. Now you're blaming Erstad for the team's woes when he's been the only one hitting in the last few weeks and getting on base? Right. Darin's been so good for this team and everyone wants to pretend that he's been awful. He had that terrible, terrible slump and snapped out of it; that's more than can be said of anyone else on the team.
  14. I don't think those are funny. Not because I Well, the YMCA one is okay, I guess.
  15. QUOTE(Craig Grebeck @ May 5, 2007 -> 06:09 PM) Coming into today Erstad had an OPS+ of 79, an OBP of .305. Damn good indeed. I'm not even going to argue with you about it. Anyone can see that over the last few weeks Erstad's been excellent on the field. What's Brian Anderson's OPS+? I'll bet it's more like OPS-
  16. QUOTE(Craig Grebeck @ May 5, 2007 -> 06:07 PM) It's amazing what an abysmal outfield will do to a team. And no, Erstad is not doing damn good. Yes he is. Sorry.
  17. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 5, 2007 -> 05:47 PM) It really is incredible what a lack of a leadoff hitter will do If by "it really is incredible what a lack of a leadoff hitter will do" you mean, "It's incredible what an old team that swings for the fences all of the time will do," I agree. Srlsly. Pods was bad in both halves last year; his sucktitude wasn't the difference. And Erstad is doing damn good this season.

  19. Oh, and hey -- WANG IS THROWING A PERFECT GAME JINX JINX
  20. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 5, 2007 -> 04:35 PM) You're part of a minority, but I agree with you. It would have been such a great financial move for the Sox on top of all the offense that Bonds brings. Even if people were to boo him, they'd still be paying for Sox tickets to boo him. I'm part of several minorities. Erstad lover is one of them. Wish we'd signed Bonds is another.
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ May 5, 2007 -> 04:34 PM) It would have been a perfect, perfect fit. Oh well, I can honestly understand why they wouldn't want to deal with the baggage. Me too. I didn't support it then for those reasons and an opposition to steroids but hey, baseball as an institution doesn't care, so f*** it.
  22. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ May 5, 2007 -> 04:34 PM) And when Ozzie Guillen exiles Brian "the Once and Future King" eh? -- f*** the sanctimony. I wish we'd signed Bonds in the offseason. I don't miss them either...but sometimes...I wish I had. I'll never forget how sick I felt after Chad Durbin shut us down.
