  1. Maybe we should make a trade for Troy Glaus? He'll be available soon. Alex Rios would still look good here.
  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 9, 2007 -> 09:51 PM) From what I've seen thus far this season, I look forward to the next 5 years of John Danks' career. They are going to be a blast. Scott Boras doesn't hang around losers. No sir.
  3. Hey guys. Jenks' fastball isn't coming back. Jenks and DJ confirmed it. "Jenks has said he's tired of people talking about his fastball. Enough already! He doesn't need it to be 100 to be effective!" Yes he does.
  4. I liked that Boone Logan call by Hawk Harrelson
  5. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 9, 2007 -> 09:02 PM) To me the lesson of him dealing with guys on in a game situation is more valuable than getting MMAc some work. He wasnt overpitched. He's pitched with runners on before.
  6. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 9, 2007 -> 08:54 PM) Here comes some Micro Managing here. Danks has plenty left in the tank. Why do this. No reason to let the young kid who's getting squeezed go even deeper into the game. You don't want to overpitch your youngsters.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ May 9, 2007 -> 08:47 PM) Too hard to tell....getting a lot of broken bat hits, but we're also having more focused at-bats. Still 9 outs to go in this game. Do you think it's bad or good that Ozzie's cost us two games in a month and a half? How many would a "good" to "great" to "average" manager cost his team in a month and a half? None?
  8. Is this the beginning or a winning streak, or a tease? Man, I'm getting pessimistic.
  9. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ May 9, 2007 -> 06:58 PM) What? The Sox are one of the most winning ballclubs in baseball this decade. I know. They've been good as a team. But not particularly good as an organization. It's hard to explain.
  10. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 9, 2007 -> 02:32 PM) And have been successful at winning baseball games. You made the claim you don't beleive this is a Top 15 Organization. That obvious means there are 15+ teams that are better than the Chicago White Sox. I am having a hard time finding 15+ organizations that wouldn't trade in their success with the success the Sox have had the last 5+ years. Can you? The White Sox haven't been particularly good outside of 05.
  11. We're terrible at drafting and developing.
  12. You know, this isn't a particularly good organization. There are a couple of things we excel at but on the whole, it's not even top fifteen, IMO, or if it is it's barely.
  13. Anybody know anything about him? He's from Illinois. Looks good with numbers. Any idea what he throws? What his ceilings are?
  14. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 8, 2007 -> 05:03 PM)
  15. QUOTE(RME JICO @ May 8, 2007 -> 11:02 PM) Now if avid fans can see these issues, there is no way others are not seeing the same thing (management, media, etc). It is plain as day. I really hope someone asks Ozzie why he did not walk Morneau and allowed a RHP pitch to him with 2 outs and jeff Cirillo on deck. What could he possibly say other than he trusted Masset? He feared a wild pitch? I think this is indefensible. Not fireable, and I'm not furious, but this was a bulls*** game.
  16. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 8, 2007 -> 10:18 PM) Didn't Bevington bring in Foulke to walk a guy and then pull him right after? Haha. -- No haha to that shot. What a f***ing shot.
  17. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 8, 2007 -> 09:01 PM) Why is the comparison vs Anderson? I'll fix that for you. Is there any doubt, whatsoever, that Ryan Sweeney is a flat out better ballplayer than Brian AndersonScott Podsednik? No. But a more interesting question is this: is there any doubt whatsoever that Podsednik is a better ballplayer than Anderson?
  18. Don't discount Widger. He got Kenny. He'll get you too. PS: I'd much prefer Widger to Molina.
