  1. WhiteSox.com says Paulie might not play tomorrow. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
  2. Maybe we could make it into a lovestory featuring El Duque and The Count, with Livan as an opponent of their love?

  4. At least Freddy pitched well today. There's something good. And Thornton, too.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 09:02 PM) I would have rather had Boone Logan pitch to Blalock then to leave Jenks in to face another hitter. Been impressed by his run-less streak of late, eh?
  6. QUOTE(BuehrleBabe @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 08:59 PM) 2 hits, no runs, three walks and five strike outs in four innings. Hi Jamie!
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 08:57 PM) So....how do we explain all these pitchers seeing a drop in velocity? "Personal choice."
  8. QUOTE(gettysburg32 @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 08:43 PM) :fthecubs just wanted to see if this says fish Ha!
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 08:24 PM) He's really, really impressed me. His most impressive pitch that inning was the slider to Blalock.
  10. I love how fast Thornton corrected his mechanics. I love Matt.
  11. QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 07:50 PM) you have no idea how badly i want too, unfortunately i need the money to get through something called college... Get someone else to beat his ass.
  12. QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 07:48 PM) Some guy just changed the channel at the sportsclub i work at...the OLN NETWORK? YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS. Beat his ass.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 07:18 PM) Cause we have a 2nd baseman playing in left field. We need the second baseman in left field from Washington!
  14. When we take the lead, and get two outs with no one on the next inning, Freddy needs to plunk someone for AJ and Podsednik.
  15. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 07:08 PM) Garcia hits Tex so one on, one out for Blalock. Did it look deliberate?
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 06:36 PM) Good offspeed pitches by Garcia this inning. His fastball's an offspeed pitch! (Has his fastball been worth a damn today?)
  17. QUOTE(TLAK @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 01:26 PM) Dewey La Marr Hoyt. Take Mark Buehrle's heart and transplant it into Freddy Garcia's body and you can picture how he used to pitch. He threw in the low 90's, attacked every hitter, and left nothing in the locker room. Unfortunatly he self destructed in his personal life. Incidently, one of the guys the Sox got for him when they traded him to San Diego was Ozzie Guillen. Pretty sad story.
  18. It's important for us to capitalize right now on Tigers losses. I've been saying for awhile that their pitching's finally going down as most have predicted, and while they haven't been bad, they've been a much weaker team in the last couple of weeks. Unfortunately, we're in our slump at the same time, or else we'd have noticed this in the standings. With their loss today, and more that I anticipate in the next couple as their pitching's hit a bumpy road right now, we need to start winning again. Earlier in the year, either in June or May (I can't recall), the Tigers last slumped, and while it wasn't anything major, it was something we would've done well to capitalize on but didn't, as we slumped at the same time. We can't do it again.
  19. I like the recent trends in pitching for the Tigers, and I like the fact that, by my count, four of our five starters have little else choice but to go up. they can't fall much further. Garland and Contreras can slip a little, but I can't see them falling too hard too far. Buehrle and Vazquez I expect to get much better. Garcia? I can see him getting worse, but we'll see if his last start against the Yankees -- the good part of his start, mind you -- bore any signs of things to come.
