Updates on Kopech
I'm in the camp that they'll utilize Crochet in this fashion this year 2 inning possible 3 inning stints as well getting him close to 100ip and then going into next year keep that plan but sprinkle in spot starts like Kopech this year and in '23 take over the rotation spot for whom ever accepts their QO if they can't work out a long term deal.

Updates on Kopech
Valid points but the sox aren't alone in this vacuum; this is league wide. I anticipate the sox moving to a 6-7 man rotation with full blown bull pen games sprinkled in as well towards the end of the season in order to keep everyone fresh for a pennant push. With Bieber hitting the IL today and the tribe's rotation being held together with duct tape and Civale. With the sox divisional lead widening they'll likely be able to afford that approach.

NIce play by Vaughn, keep it going hard Carl.

Updates on Kopech
Agreed you need a big 3 to get to the dance and the sox have that in spades limiting Kopech and to a lesser extent Crochet's workloads with an eye on the pennant is what they should be doing with a 4.5 lead in the division and the best run diff in baseball.

Madrigal goes on 60 day DL, Hamstring tear: Goodwin recalled
I don't agree, middle infielders that are going to be hitting the FA market are a rare abundance this off season; Story will def be moved at the deadline and if the cubs fall out you can expect Baez as well, not to mention Jonathan Schoop. Lets just hope TLR isn't a fucking moron like Ventura, in saying that they have all they need internally.

Madrigal goes on 60 day DL, Hamstring tear: Goodwin recalled
Queue it up All jokes aside he will likely be back after the ASB fingers crossed. Adam Frazier looking better and better as a trade target every day 2B/OF and 3B/SS in a pinch.

2021 MLB Draft Thread
Latest mock from prospects live 22. Chicago White Sox Colson Montgomery, SS, Southridge The White Sox have had a number of names circled for some time now. College pitchers like Gavin Williams and Ty Madden are popular inside the organization, as are prep infielders like Wes Kath and Maxwell Muncy. Ultimately, we’ve got Rick Hahn and Co.™ selecting the Indiana prep shortstop at 22. Montgomery has a beautiful blend of athleticism, impact and projection in his physical 6-foot-4 frame. Many believe he’ll stick at shortstop long-term where the value of his bat will play way up. There’s the potential of an above average hit and above average power here, something that’s awfully difficult to find at the position. 57. Chicago White Sox Chase Burns, RHP, Station Camp Burns is a bit of a divisive prospect in scouting circles. Some teams have him a first round grade, while others have him valued outside of the fitth round. The White Sox like him quite a bit and were he to fall this far, they'd likely have no problem scooping him up. He's been up to 98 but generally sits 93-96 with a four distinct pitches. The curveball and slider melt together at times, but it's a big body with feel for spin.

How To Fix the Pen
Its not a question of selling early, its a matter of a 40man roster crunch coming down in the near future and if they're able to move Burger to a non contender and take back a lotto ticket that won't have to be on the 40 man for 2-3 seasons or a utility piece seems like a better use of assets. Yeah if the tribe could shit the bed a bit and give the sox some breathing room, i'm not opposed to seeing what they have in Adolfo or Rutherford.

How To Fix the Pen
I think the white sox will just continue with what they have up till the deadline and if they're looking for an arm it'll be below retail. With their current position they have the luxury of time as they move to the deadline. Looking at the remainder of this year and going into next I imagine this is what the bullpen looks like CL Hendriks (32) Hendriks (33) SU Bummer* (27) Bummer* (28) SU Heuer (24) Heuer (25) MR Fry* (27) Fry* (28) MR Foster (26) Foster (27) MR Ruiz (26) Ruiz (27) RP Crochet* (22) Burr (28) LR Kopech (25) Crochet* (23) With Burr, Marshall, Cordero, Burdi, Lambert, and Pilkington all looking to break in the near future. Having said all that they need to begin to move Sheets, Burger, possibly Stiever, Lopez, Johnson, possibly Burdi, Adolfo, and Rutherford to clear space on the 40 man and garner some type return; even if its lotto tickets with one tool down in A ball. If the future outfield is going to be Eloy, Robert, and Vaughn with Eloy the first to eventually be moved, then Adolfo and Rutherford serve as nothing more than depth buried behind former major leaguers and 5/6th outfielder types like Gonzalez.

If Semien can turn into a near GG with Oakland at SS I have faith in Nick.
