  1. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 12:28 PM) In a way, they're all winners. But in another, more real way, most of you will end up losers. if ya aint first you're last.
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 04:16 PM) That must of been a s***ty night dude, you have no idea. I'm just thankful that it happened while I was young enough to turn my life around. If I didn't get popped who knows what my life would be like today...
  3. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 01:07 PM) I'm curious...what for? sold a few guns and some drugs to an undercover cop. It happened when I was 19 and I'm 31 now so it was a long time ago.
  4. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 02:41 AM) Anybody do the long distance thing? Ive been with my girlfriend for over two years, from senior year in high school to present and about a hear and half of that has been long distance. Ive been at UIllinois and she went to GVSU her freshman year and is now at Purdue. I still have feelings for her (which astounds me still) but this whole long distance thing is really getting to me. There are some periods where I cant stand it and other times I dont mind it. Im back in that I cant stand it stage though. I've done it but I was in prison at the time so I didn't have much of a choice...
  5. QUOTE (The Beast @ Feb 4, 2010 -> 10:50 AM) The type of woman that I am referring to is a manipulative and materialistic person. I am going out on a limb here to say that many of the girls I have met share the same characteristics. And you know, that's a shame. Because I agree with you in regards to what a father expects of any man that's serious about being with his daughter. In my past experiences, I have been respectful and loving of my girlfriends. In my only serious relationship, I hope that her father noted all that I did and would speak fondly of me. I know her mother did. The problem that I have right now is that I am having a hard time meeting women who actually know what they want or even have an interest in me. I know what kind of women I like and don't like and what I'm attracted to. Unfortunately I can't seem to find a medium to go meet those kind of women or even people to have as friends in general. I'll admit, I have few friends, but the ones that I do have, I value them a lot. It's just tough when you constantly try to go to bars or parties and still don't feel comfortable in those settings. To summarize, it's a frustrating time trying to get to know yourself when you are trying to meet new people and even find someone to get to know further. Nobody likes being alone, it's a fact of life. I definately get that. Sorry if I came off harsh, If you couldn't tell, I have a princess at home. With that being said, the problem you have seems like a fairly easy fix. There are certain places where you meet people that COULD tell you a lot about the person before you even meet them. When you go to a club there's a probability of what type of girl you can meet there. That's not to say it's impossible to meet a decent girl at the club, but the probability would suggest that she is into drinking, having a good time in that scene, etc... Switch up where you go. Try Barnes and Noble, the library on a Friday night, church (that one could be decieving), etc...maybe you'll find the type of girl you're looking for there.
  6. QUOTE (The Beast @ Feb 4, 2010 -> 09:32 AM) I've always thought that if her dad called her princess as a child, that I would never date a girl like that. Because while I will treat a woman with respect and love her, I will not treat her like a princess. I run from girls like that. And I purposely talk about my ex to get rid of the women that I meet that are initially into me but that I find that I'm not fond of. News Flash Buddy, for the most part, all fathers refer to their daughters as princess. Not all of those same girls are spoiled. It's a term of endearment. Treating her with respect and loving her is exactly what a father does for his daughter and what a father EXPECTS of any man that's serious about being with his daughter. Material things have nothing to do with this at all, that's a different girl you're referring to.

    Las Vegas Trip

QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Jan 28, 2010 -> 12:17 PM) Thanks for the info, when you come back please let me know if you tried the sandwich and if it worked. Have a great trip! got here yesterday, i did the $20 tip not trick. Had my hands on the counter with the $20 peeking through. I asked if I could get a suite higher up with a view of the strip. He clearly looked at the twenty before punching away at his keyboard and got me the view of the strip, a fridge that they usually charge you $20 a day for and a $30 resort credit. I'd suggest doing it this way, it felt more like a tip while we both knew it was a bribe.

The only other site I go to besides this one is vegasmessageboard.com, you can find really good deals and reviews all over this site. If you have a question, post it and you'll always get an immediate response. I'm leaving for Vegas on Saturday so it really helped me to have this information before hand. They have a thread specifically for the $20 trick, I'll leave the link. $20 trick LVMB
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 26, 2010 -> 09:18 AM) Thought it was a gamble, but an interesting one, and it depended on which version of Podsednik we were going to get. Was more worried about JD replacing Magglio than I was about the Podsednik/Lee trade; we got 2 big things out of it, salary flexibility and a guy who was under our control for a lot longer, but JD had been injured and bad for a couple years, and after April/May that looked like a horrible move. ok. bad example.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 26, 2010 -> 09:12 AM) The last time I saw a Chicago team make a decision that I felt was this obviously stupid was the decision by the Cubs to sign Bradley. honestly, at the time, how did you feel about the Carlos Lee trade?
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 26, 2010 -> 08:52 AM) JimH gets a sad snowflake from me for his neverending effort to be relevant on the internets... Well, he did make himself relevant today as he has his own thread on our beloved soxtalk. +1 JimH
  13. I need to step it up, I've been here for years and I'm definitely the most negative person on this board. My problem is I don't project enough...
  14. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jan 15, 2010 -> 12:15 AM) I dont believe in Ghosts but when I was like 6, my dad cut out a picture of Frankenstein's head and taped it to my tv screen. The glare from the street light bouncing off my tv screen made the picture visible in the darkness. I woke up in the middle of the night to Frankenstein's face staring at me and I basically cried myself to sleep b/c I was so scared. That's hilarious...I'm doing that to my kid tonight.

    Rental Cars?

QUOTE (SnB @ Jan 15, 2010 -> 03:17 PM) i'm not even sure which class that falls under to be honest. But what I would do is book a luxury car or even just a fullsize car and then just ask the guy at the counter which specific cars they have. They'll usually make you a deal. With my discount, you could get a luxury car (towncar/cts) for 395 (w/ taxes included) PM me if you want the code. please don't take this as a shot at your company. Hertz is a lot higher than everyone else, what do they offer that the others don't? is it just one of those things that ends up balancing for them because they're cheaper on other cars? I pried it out and Fox is far and away the cheapest, after reading their horrible reviews I understand why. Advantage and Alamo are at about $300 with Enterprise being at $325...then Hertz is at $462. What are the differences between you guys? Quotes

Also, I work for a business branched off of True Value (Grand Rental Station) and Penske Truck Leasing if that can help with any discounts.

    Rental Cars?

QUOTE (SnB @ Jan 15, 2010 -> 01:11 PM) i work for hertz, what do you need? (do you have a specific car in mind?, location? , how long of a rental?) Going to Vegas January 30th, I would need to pick up the car around 5PM (airport code LAS). I would need it until Tuesday Feb 2nd, drop off at 11 AM. So three days total. I'm looking to get a Chrysler 300 or something similar. I'm not sure if that's considered premium or luxury. Any help you can give me I'd appreciate.

  19. How much are season tickets? generally, nothing fancy.
  20. What an idiot! What a loser! Good! Good! More for you and me...
  21. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 22, 2009 -> 03:27 AM) They added you? Who the hell are you?!!?! lol. its FB, I'm fb friends with morel, D1, D2, casey and brian urlacher...not one of them (except casey) would recognize me if I smacked them.
  22. I won't kick off the LCD vs Plasma thread (again) because it appears LED has them both beat. I personally live and die by Samsung, Sony is obviously top of the line and pricey. I hear Vizio offers a good product with really good prices but I don't know that from experience. As far as the question regarding normal TV picture, that will be fixed with an HD subscription. I don't even know what normal TV looks like on mine because there's no need to watch it. Pretty much every channel offers HD now and if you watch any sporting event in anything but HD your TV should be taken away from you by force.

    Vegas

IDK man, when I walk into the big casinos I don't feel like I can win. Everything is so done up and I start thinking of all the poor schmucks (that thought they were going to win) it took to build that place. The electric bill alone has to be unreal. I don't want to contribute. When I go to O'sheas it seems like a neighborhood bar with gambling...everything from beer pong to guitar hero, you can't beat it. When I go back in January I'm staying at TheHotel @ Mandalay Bay but I'll be doing my gambling at O'sheas.
