  1. Man, I can't find a feed at all. I guess Gameday'll have to do.
  2. Anyone got a feed for this game? Stupid Sox scheduling so many games on WCIU early on.. I need my Sox fix!
  3. Kotsay and Vizquel are combined 0-7, ouch! Only ones left out of the fun.
  4. All aboard the hit parade. Get 'em while you can, cause they won't be around forever!
  5. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 08:06 PM) Look at what a Jays fan put on another message board I am on.... "Pierzynski can suck a dick. He's such a b**** ass. I can't wait for someone to throw 100 MPH at his head and end his career" Him and a couple other Jays fans blew up last night over AJ's "HBP" and talked about how much of an asshole he is and ect. I think people just hate him for things just because it is popular to hate him, and people blow everything he does out of proportion. Do players fake being HBP? Sure. Can you name any of them? Probably not. But when AJ does it, people freak out and go nuts about it. He's the Brett Favre of the MLB. Whatever he does, people hate.
  6. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 07:51 PM) after he walked bautista on 4 straight he found his rhythm Thanks to Yahoo being fail at Fantasy Baseball, Danks is on the bench tonight!
  7. QUOTE (Cowch @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 10:33 PM) I agree that a lineup should be at least remotely established, but I don't think firing Ozzie will help anything. And really? 2 weeks into the season seems a bit premature for this. Welcome to Soxtalk. I'm surprised these threads weren't popping up in the spring honestly.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 08:25 AM) Teahen, Jones, Kotsay,Pierre,..........these guys are all HOF quality hitters at this point in their careers. The fact that they haven't hit well during the season's first 4 games is ample proof Greg Walker is a good and needs to be fired immediately. Yet another ridiculous thread. This post was really meant to be more comical then serious. I thought I made that pretty clear with the choices being obviously impossible, or very very unlikely in any way. And I also never said (in this thread anyways) that Walker should be fired. I simply posed a question.
  9. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 12:06 AM) This. Walker coached a powerful offense in 2006 (My god, if I could combine that offense with this pitching staff, we're looking at some insane win total). Rios & Konerko listen to Walker, they hit it hard. Dye became an offensive power when he came to Chicago. This is why a good Alexei is needed and an Adrian Gonzalez is wanted. If Pierre could just get on base, then you could have Alexei get him over if Alexei could draw a walk or bunt, but he can't for god knows why. Then you have Gonzalez, who you must pitch to because Quentin's behind him, and then Konerko, followed by Rios or Beckham. You have to pitch to them, but right now, teams don't have to worry about Gordon because he's stuck advancing Pierre, and Konerko has Mark Kotsay behind him. Your post is completely off-topic and doesn't discuss the poll question at all.
  10. I think I'm gonna stop posting during games. I really just get in a bad mood when this team does poorly, because to me, being able to watch baseball is supposed to be my release from all the stress of my final semesters in college, and so far it's just been even more stresses and upsetting. I know I'm an overly pessimistic person in certain moods. So if you guys see me posting during games, tell me to go away, at least until I'm done with school for the semester.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 02:21 PM) He's probably the worst of the OF's when it comes to range and, although the shoulder injury may have taken a toll, probably one of the better ones when it comes to throwing. This. I will always remember that gun of a throw back in his first or second month where he caught the fly in left and nabbed the guy at first for the double play. Wow. So to me it comes to Pierre (worst arm, better range and quickness) vs. Quentin (slowest [of the starters], but best arm). I will always go with the guy with the arm, so long as he has enough quickness to play the position, which I think Quentin does. But then again, I played LF for 7 years and I see myself more like a Quentin guy, so I'm probably a little biased.
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 12:59 AM) You typed all this without a hint of who you believe would be able to hold down the 2-hole. Really, I have no idea. I'm just saying I think Beckham is better suited elsewhere. But I guess what suits the team best is Beckham in the 2-hole, which just leads me back to Ozzie being okay with this lineup and KW failing to get us anything better.
  13. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 12:58 AM) Dewayne Wise isn't on our active roster. That's a positive. I also recently deleted Joe Cowley's twitter from my profile, so I no longer have to read his "journalism" anymore; also positive. I'm on a roll! But in a more serious tone, the starting pitching (and pitching in general) has been outstanding. Honestly, Peavy looked the worst of the 5 this first time around, but I'm still putting that one on the drastic change of sunny San Diego to bitterly cold, April Chicago nights. And man, Freddy looked pretty good too. I know he had like 5 walks, but I'll take 2 over 7 any day of the week from my number 5. Props to him!

  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 12:06 AM) And that answer of trading for a Gonzalez and parting with Jordan Danks, Hudson and Tyler Flowers (as a starting point) seems very ill-advised. I'd say this is probably the best chance we will have in a while to win another title, just based on the amazing starting pitching we have. Pitching this solid doesn't come around often, so I'm still for the trading of a bat like Gonzalez. His bat could open up a lot of stuff for this offense. And on a semi-related note, why is Beckham batting second? I don't get it. I mean, I understand you want a contact guy in the 2 hole so he can move the leadoff hitter over and what not, but I think it's a waste of a really, really good (potentially) bat. Beckham seems like a good 5 hitter to me. He would provide protection for Konerko (think 100% opposite of Kotsay), and wouldn't have to worry about moving guys over (or bunting) if he was there. Seems like a good fit to me.
  16. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 09:20 PM) a better poll would've been "how long until a fire greg walker themed thread gets started" no way I would've guessed 5 games. But it's always nice to be surprised. This is in no way a "fire greg Walker" themed thread. It was simply a question, asking what you think he needs to do to get fired. Clearly hes not going to get fired.
  17. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 03:30 PM) Last night we had 10. Yeah but it took us 2 extra innings to get to that total.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 03:28 PM) No one feels like they're playing well when they're losing. You could say we're playing darn well with the pitching we're getting. Of course no one feels well when they lose. That's not the mindset of an athlete.
  19. CG with his second Uribe impression today. He's got the first-pitch-pop-out down to a tee apparently.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 03:26 PM) And in 2006 we were near the top of the league. So 2 years in the upper half, 2 years in the bottom 1/3, for a team that spends a large fraction of its money on pitching. It goes way way way beyond that. As I said before, there is a difference between losing and playing well, and losing and playing s***ty.
  21. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 03:24 PM) Why do you ask? Do you want me to be f***ing retarded?
