  1. One guy I'm totally glad the Sox didn't go after is Michael Brantley. Very important to sign Adam Eaton instead. After all, he was cheaper, on a one-year contract, and can play RF every day.
  2. From that list, Ian Kennedy is the guy who jumped out to me -- lots of Sox familiarity with him from his time in KC, low salary, and a history of dealing with the TX front office.
  3. Yes, but Jake has eliminated the leg-kick in favor of a toe-tap, and so is therefore highly great and stuff. Apparently.
  4. This is my (least) favorite part. Bummer in particular was a big 'ol shit-talker, and he's been notoriously unreliable.
  5. How are none of these moves by this jackass balks?
  6. Anytime Hahn wants to get off his ass and bring in an outfielder, that would be swell.
  7. Lazy catcher. Lazy shortstop. Bad times.
  8. Someone tell Grandal that it's important sometimes to not try to frame a ball and instead just catch the damn thing.
  9. Flat-out sucks this year. He's having one of those "relievers sure are hard to figure" season. Cannot be counted on at this point.
  10. Bummer has no idea where the ball is going.
  11. It's a side-effect of trying to frame everything -- backhanding everything to pull up, instead of getting down to block it.
  12. Eaton needs to go on the injured list, like 10 days ago. See you for awhile, dude.
  13. I can see him going on the injured list when Engel comes back.
  14. Not saying this is why TLR didn't challenge, but if he thinks Madrigal's out, isn't that a challenge he can now use in the *bottom* of that inning. Who knows -- might need it then.
  15. I approve this message.
  16. Mendick makes real catch, then avoids fake people.
  17. Robert grounded out, but it could've been worse. Given how things have gone so far, I was expecting his head to pop off.
  18. "Delmonico" is Italian for "miss the cut-off man"
  19. You could tell from the last couple of pitches. His delivery was all messed up. But he sure was bad before that.
  20. QUOTE (Tmar @ Feb 18, 2017 -> 10:04 PM) Who Without question, one of my least favorite Sox players. Ever. Terrible player and totally fake funny -- always "laughing" in the dugout and "entertaining" the guys -- just a total camera-hog, like our version of Mark Grace, but more annoying and less talented. And Hawk just loved him. Good God.
  21. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Dec 27, 2016 -> 01:35 PM) Given the seller's market that it seems to be at the moment, I'd be reluctant to package players unless one was a deal-breaker for a prospect we loved. Seems to me that maximum value will be extracted from trading players individually. Could be right. I just remember that one reason the Cubs were able to get Addison Russell (and McKinney, I guess) was that they gave up Hammel, along with Shark. Sometimes that 2nd veteran piece can round out a deal for those highly rated prospects.
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 11:33 AM) My assumption is this is tailored to being about the Cubs/Cardinals because the only thing Phil Rogers ever talks about is Cubs/Cardinals and Arnie Munoz curveball. Just FYI, I think Arnie Munoz curveball would be an interesting 4th piece in any Quintana deal.
  23. I admire the courage of you, your wife, and your boy. I'm praying for you all.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 5, 2016 -> 09:36 AM) Bruce Levine ‏@MLBBruceLevine 43s44 seconds ago Chicago, IL Kris Bryant said his left knee is a little stiff but it's fine after collision with Almora in yesterday's game Did he say this while Bruce was rubbing him down?
