QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 26, 2012 -> 10:30 PM) Their anuses get into a fit every year past the ASB. They press, swing for the fence. K or popup. Then swing harder. K. Then all of a sudden when its the 9th inning. They finally get some focus and put on a threat, then come up short. That in a nutshell is whitesox baseball in an pennant race. There is no reason what so ever that we are in this position. Play medicore baseball hit the ball a bit and we are about to clinch. +1. So you have to ask who the common denominators have been on all of these teams. I can think of three (besides Hawk): (1) Konerko; (2) AJ; and (3) the guy who gets the players, KW. But it IS kind of the same deal every year, and you have to wonder why. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 26, 2012 -> 10:25 PM) This team has made it hard to get too upset if they don't make the postseason. Yeah, I'm not too upset because: (1) no one expected much; and (2) since about August 1, this team has been -- honestly -- one of the most boring teams I've ever watched. I'm serious about that, and I've been a Sox fan for 35 years. There's something about them that I haven't been able to put a finger on. -

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 26, 2012 -> 10:26 PM) Made no sense at all..............I would of rather seen Axelrod. Agree on Axelrod. He's basically had one terrible start all year -- when he went on 3 days rest to protect Sale the day before the All-Star Game. Otherwise, the guy had some big outings for us. -

Hey, who knows? In 2008, we got our behinds handed to us in that disastrous sweep in Minnesota, looked totally dead -- and then they turned around and let us back in. Who knows what Detroit team will show up the next week? One thing is for sure . . . they won't pack their gloves. -

I like our spirit and sense of fun. We're a team that loves playing baseball right now. You can tell. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 26, 2012 -> 10:19 PM) 1st pitch with 2 outs unsuccessful steal attempt was a symbol of Ozzie's managing Yes, that was one tendency that could be scouted once and learned forever. -

QUOTE (Skipper @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 09:00 PM) He could have easily had him at 3rd. I just don't think Alexei is all there mentally at this point in the season. Never did replace Escobar. Wouldn't be bad to have a backup shortstop. And, no, Olmedo doesn't count. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 09:00 PM) Really bad baseball again. He SHOULD have been DEAD TO RIGHTS at home. Was Ramirez BEHIND him? Looked like he might have been. Tough to see the plate with a guy standing in the way. If so, thanks again to the fine fundamentals from Ramirez. -

QUOTE (Skipper @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 08:41 PM) I just don't understand how the Royals have such a poor record. Probably many reasons, but one thing I'm pretty sure of: Yost sucks -

Would like to see Cooper go to the mound here. -
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 10:30 PM) We haven't learned from Martz. The entire gameplan tonight was wait until a reciever run a deep route. We haven't done anything to change our attack. Wait for the deep pattern while our line is a revolving door. Tice is probably a net positive over Martz. BUT -- some negative possibilities of Tice becoming OC: (1) O-line doesn't get his full coaching attention and doesn't improve during the season the way it has the past 3 years; (2) Martz appeared to do one thing well: he got Cutler's mechanics better. So far this year, I think Cutler's mechanics have looked like s***. (3) Tice is an inexperienced game-planner and play-caller.
-
That one's on Cutler. Throw the ball away.

QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 10:21 PM) There are some moments of comedy gold on 670 Doug and OB shall bring it.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 10:18 PM) God Bless Kellen Davis.
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 10:10 PM) Kellen Davis = useless. The coaching staff has transferred its prior inexplicable hard-on for Zack Bowman to a new inexplicable hard-on for Kellen Davis. Come to think of it, Inexplicable Hard-On would be one great name for a band.
-
Again, get Davis off the field.
-
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 10:10 PM) Well Didn't upgrade the line in 3 years. Every summer we pretend it's going to get better. Then it doesn't. I am convinced that the best ol of a generation and we would pass for a project. True, true.
-
Stop trying to throw the ball to Kellen Davis.
-
I guess it wasn't all Mike Martz's fault.
-
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 10:03 PM) Jay Cutler is the biggest p**** to ever wear a Bears uniform. Webb should go scream in his face.
