  1. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 12, 2016 -> 02:21 PM) I'm a platinum league starcraft player. I don't really like the 50/50ness of 1v1 games but I don't think it's much of a concern for FPS. Then again I haven't actually played Overwatch yet. Overwatch is 6v6 in every mode. It was primarily designed to be competitive. So while there's a little room to "hide" in a 6-person team, it's less than most FPS where teams have 12-30 people. I used to play in some 7v7 and 9v9 competitive leagues for Team Fortress 2, and you really need everyone to contribute.
  2. QUOTE (South Sider @ May 12, 2016 -> 02:15 AM) You're right, I'm just paranoid because I used to play League of Legends a little bit and when I got into level 20+ I started drawing Bronze and Silver opponents sometimes, and I'd just get gg rekt m8. There is a steep learning curve to that game so it made me just want to create smurf accounts to play against people who suck as much as I do. Fair enough. I trust that Blizzard will include options for casual players though. They always did with Warcraft/Starcraft, a couple of games I never felt confident playing versus good people.
  3. QUOTE (South Sider @ May 12, 2016 -> 02:11 AM) You could tell that Bastion is overpowered. Almost every game a Bastion dominated. I'm guessing he'll get nerfed before release. Bastion was nerfed before the open beta. I didn't play a LOT, but I didn't notice him being a problem. He can put out a lot of damage fast, but he also dies quickly (and is immobile). He's much less of a problem when people have mics and can communicate where he is.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 11, 2016 -> 01:12 PM) i am simultaneously excited and terrified of my son starting baseball because of crazy parents Probably pretty dependent on the kind of league you're signing him up for. The BASEBALL IS SERIOUS BUSINESS parents are going to gravitate towards "travel" leagues and all that. If you're just talking about getting your son interested in baseball by having him play in a local community league, you'll be alright. My son played for a bit (grade 3-5) and I never saw a parent lose their s***. Maybe a couple who yelled at the ump too much from the stands.
  5. QUOTE (South Sider @ May 8, 2016 -> 08:25 PM) I like Overwatch, but I'm not sure how much I'd like having to seriously think about team composition and play defense/support roles. I do like MOBA type games but they can be incredibly annoying if your skill level isn't honed. I'm not the type of guy to spend a bunch of time getting good at PVP games so I can imagine playing against those who do would be bothersome. I believe the matchmaking system places you in games with people of a similar "level" as you. So if you only play occasionally, you're not going to be in games against people who play 10 hours a day.
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 10, 2016 -> 01:33 PM) Or to keep Ramsey on screen. He's arguably one of the most (un)popular characters on TV right now. I'm about sick of Ramsay. And I mean that in an "X-Pac heat" kind of way.
  7. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ May 9, 2016 -> 09:36 PM) By the time the third act happens it becomes another good guys vs. bad guys movies. I felt the opposite way. Going in, I was 99% sure that towards the end Team Cap and Team Iron Man would get over their differences and come together to beat the Big Bad Guy. Basically, the same cliche that Batman Vs Superman opted for. I was pleasantly surprised that they didn't do that.
  8. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ May 9, 2016 -> 07:19 PM) The family that put the Starks back in their home? I think that'd buy you some good graces. True. But how does Rickon dying or being a tortured bargaining chip for Ramsey (the only 2 likely scenarios here) help put the Starks back in their home? QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ May 9, 2016 -> 07:19 PM) How many people have seen direwolves? Aren't they super rare? Do we know if Ramsey would know what one looked like? Did he see Robs or was he away for all that? My initial reaction was that head was rather small. Ramsay SHOULD know that direwolve heads are supposed to be huge, but maybe not. This is the most problematic problem with this theory, I agree. I went back and looked at the head again. It's pretty f'in big. Shaggy Dog is dead. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ May 9, 2016 -> 07:19 PM) Yeah, it's a gamble, but without any army how else can the Starks take back Winterfell? And if death of an heir is a goal, why not show up with Rickon's body? Why present him alive? He's not a bargaining chip if he's dead. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ May 9, 2016 -> 07:19 PM) At the same time keeping a character like Rickon hidden away for 4 seasons only to return him to be killed/tortured seems pretty stupid. No one cares about Rickon because he's been gone so long, so why bring him back now unless there's a reason? If he's killed by the end of this season people would be like, oh ok, that was dumb. I think he'll get rescued, but not because it was any part of an Umber plan.
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 9, 2016 -> 03:02 PM) First thing I thought was that wasnt his direwolf If that was merely a regular wolf head, I don't think it would have convinced Ramsay.
  10. I've played a little. Seems like something you really need to dump some time into to figure out all the characters. It's fun though.
  11. Dude's got the Hispanic vote IN THE BAG
  12. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 5, 2016 -> 04:28 PM) I hope he makes a reappearance. I liked the hound. The Hound is a boss. I don't think the show is going to fit him back in though.
  13. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 5, 2016 -> 03:25 PM) she also didn't really have anywhere else to go That's what I was going to say. Dad's dead. Mom's dead. Robb's dead. Brann and Rickon are (thought) dead. Sansa is captive. Jon is super far away in a place not suitable for little girls anyway. Tullys got knocked off. What's left? Crazy Aunt Lysa? HARD PASS She didn't know going to Braavos was going to result in an assassin guild apprenticeship. It was just better than being in Westeros.
  14. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 4, 2016 -> 06:03 PM) thanks for ruining the ending for me, Crimson Alternatively, she becomes a faceless woman and someone hires her to kill someone Arya wouldn't want to die like Lord Commander Jon or future Lady of Winterfell and Warden of the North Sansa Stark.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 3, 2016 -> 07:32 PM) Arya's story arc is one of my favorites in the book but I am anxious to see what becomes of her after her training anyway She's going to become a faceless woman assassin with no personal identity. Somewhere near the end, someone will coincidentally hire her to assassinate Cersei, the last survivor from Arya's list. The deed will be done, but she will smirk, revealing that a little piece of Arya Stark still lives and is happy to have found vengeance.
  16. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 3, 2016 -> 01:56 PM) *looks up in cubicle* You're not at your desk... I went to HR. You'll find out why later.
  17. This is your boss. I trapped you. Meet me in my office at the end of the day.
  18. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 2, 2016 -> 07:56 PM) Cruz/Trump supporters keep calling Kasich a liberal. I don't know any liberals who would claim Kasich. Heard of lot of this as well. "RINO" has become almost meaningless now.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 2, 2016 -> 05:12 PM) Bernie Sanders is running the same campaign style at a high level. He keeps running on the idea that he is the one true Democrat, and that people like Hillary even with their "mistakes" and "changes" are not the true Dems. Not so much "one true Democrat" as he is trying to hype his progressive record against Clinton's. Some of that type of thing is to be expected in any instances where people are competing. The thing with Cruz is that he does it even against Republicans he's not competing with - he does it with people who are supposed to be his allies. As far as I know, Bernie Sanders doesn't have a reputation of being hated among colleagues.
  20. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 2, 2016 -> 01:18 PM) Cruz takes the position that only the farthest right option is acceptable on any issue and is unwilling to ever compromise. I think he would be an even worse President than Trump. Ted Cruz' schtick is that he's THE real deal, ideologically pure Republican. Of course, part of being THE real deal guy is the implicit accusation that all the other Republicans are RINOs/phonies/traitors. The Republican playbook is supposed to be "Dems bad, Reps good." Ted Cruz' playbook is "Dems bad, Reps not very good either, Ted Cruz good." He's willing to throw GOP colleagues under the bus to further himself, and that's why they hate him. Cruz will compromise as long as it's politically beneficial and doesn't really look like a compromise. For example, he was on board with the Gang of 8 immigration bill if it included a no-citizenship amendment. But once the bill became unpopular, he started pretending that he hated the bill in every form from the get-go, that his amendment was a poison pill (LOL GUYS I WAS LYING THE WHOLE TIME), and that Rubio and the other Republicans involved were RINOs/phonies/traitors. TL,DR: Dude is a self-serving douche
  21. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 2, 2016 -> 04:48 PM) Technically in the book it was Mance that marched on Winterfell to kill Ramsey and save Jenye Poole Mance and some spearwives sneak in disguise to rescue Jeyne "Fake Arya" Poole.
  22. How can we get people excited and make this ticket more likeable? Add a candidate who no one got excited about or liked as VP!
  23. For those of us less informed on salaries and caps, which players are the Hawks likely to lose before next season? I've heard a lot about Shaw being gone, but who else?
  24. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Apr 26, 2016 -> 02:18 PM) Didn't Beric finally die when he gave Cat the kiss to resurrect her though? Maybe it will be similar with Mel & Jon Beric died because it was so gross kissing Cat after her body had been rotting/bloating up in the river for 4 days, not because the ritual is deadly.
  25. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 09:31 PM) Nope you're right, Thoros of Myr resurrects Beric Dondarrion, no sacrifice was needed. Beric just felt less and less human each time, mentioned he forgets who he is a bit as well, has less memories, etc. He had already resurrected Beric like 3-4 times by then too, I think. He was still "with it", so the effect couldn't be that great.
