QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 28, 2016 -> 05:18 PM) Three or four candidates roughly splitting the votes means that nobody will reach 270, which means the House gets to elect the President. That sounds pretty awful to be honest. But the house hates both Cruz and Trump, so who would they go for?

Cruz vs Trump vs Clinton vs Bloomburg First person to 30% wins!

I hope they were smart enough to record the s*** out of the encounter so they have evidence to dispel any martyr claims.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 27, 2016 -> 12:54 PM) An 18-week old fetus squirms around to avoid the death needle. Doesn't impact whether or not you believe it's human? You're assigning willful intent to actions that are merely automatic reflex (nociception). An 18-week fetus does not have the necessary level of brain development to be conscious, and lives in a state of sedation and anesthesia.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 26, 2016 -> 07:43 PM) I don't think anything from phone can play over Bluetooth except calls. I could be wrong. You need to plug into AUX like I do in my car. My Mazda CX5 uses Bluetooth to play any audio the phone is generating: GPS navigation, Pandora, Google Music, Spotify, etc.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 13, 2016 -> 02:04 PM) The entire scene was just terrible. I'd always imagined that due to his size, that instead of wielding a light saber and jumping around like a spider monkey, Yoda would have concentrated his studies more in force control, something he kind of eludes too when he trains Luke. It was basically the opposite of everything I'd ever imagined due to the physical realities of Yoda. IMO, it would have been WAY cooler to see that same fight, but instead of wielding a light saber and flipping around for reasons*, Yoda used nothing but force control. * Those 'reasons', are the same reasons why Jar-Jar would needlessly do back flips into lakes, and when he spun his head, his ears would flop around, etc. It was those same reasons why Anakin/Padme had a picnic with a backdrop of 50,000 waterfalls which connected to a tiny stream that slowly rushed by them...when all that water should have basically recreated a scene from Noah's Ark. All of that nonsense was nothing more then George Lucas having his CG team unnecessarily show off their technology/graphics skills, and it's something he did throughout the prequels. None of it added anything, and often times came across as green screen silliness, which is what it was. ^^ Adding to this point above, this is exactly why I loooooooved the light saber battle in Force Awakens...it was sloppy, unhinged, unpracticed, and all over the place. Basically, opposite of the WAY overly choreographed light saber battles throughout the prequels. And while that choreography may have looked cool at times, when I watch it now, it just looks silly...overly practiced, and unrealistic. When applying even the tiniest bit of logic, sword fights don't work that way, especially ones involving laser swords against foes you've never seen or faced before. Even the fights in Empire/Return looked far better and less practiced (and those were being performed by trained jedi knights).

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 12, 2016 -> 09:45 PM) Yeah I just don't get why people get so weirded out by a female nipple. Nipples are sinful. If women insist on breastfeeding, they should be required to blindfold their babies.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 12, 2016 -> 08:21 PM) You forgot the exchange rate. 115.8% Canadian is only 85% American. Damn, that's rough news for the other Canadian teams

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 12, 2016 -> 07:45 PM) Surprisingly they are at 98.6% capacity this year, so their fans actually have been showing up. Side note, the Blackhawks are at 110.3% capacity. They sell the s*** out of standing room only. http://espn.go.com/nhl/attendance How can Montreal be at 115.8% capacity for road games?

QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 07:15 PM) Fine, but I don't see how the Democrats were to blame for that. Democrats say Republicans are too right wing, republicans lose, decide to go more right wing says everything you need to know about republican voters, not Democrat party strategists. The opposite should be true. If the GOP was losing because voters (due to DNC messages) viewed them as too far right, the expected response would be to become more moderate in order to prove Democrats wrong.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 08:06 PM) True, but we also know directly from JJ Abrams that Kylo Ren is not a Sith. So it doesn't make sense that Snoke is Plagueis from that respect. The implication is that the Sith have been extinguished and this is some new order that is using the dark side of the force. My best guess would be something like Snoke is a brother or nephew of a Jedi who has force powers but for some reason was never identified and trained as a Jedi. It's a Dark Side master training a Dark Side newb (who idolizes a Sith) and one of their primary goals is destroying the Jedi. They're basically Sith, regardless of JJ's rebranding.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 06:55 PM) Vader is dead, plus he was redeemed at the end of VI. I'm sticking with Palpatine's claim that he killed Plagueis, so I'm not buying that one either. I'm not entirely sure we will ever learn that much more about Snoke's background. We better. While Palpatine did claim to kill Plagueis, he also said Plagueis held power/knowledge related to NOT BEIN' DEAD. Using that same power to save Padme was the sales pitch he gave to (the most gullible man in the world) Anakin Skywalker that turned him to the dark side.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 06:31 PM) Something like that but Snoke isn't a tangible being. Jedi's become something when they die. If Snoke is a force-ghost, then why does he project himself with a hologram machine or need Kylo to come to his (physical) location to complete his training?

QUOTE (The Gooch @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 06:04 PM) They are saying Snoke is Darth Vader based on similarities in their faces : http://moviepilot.com/posts/3721240 That would make Vader a complete idiot though right? Building another giant death star that was destroyed and all... Snoke doesn't even look like a human.

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 06:28 PM) The film got a lukewarm reception because after TDK came out in 2008 people sarted writing the sequel in their head (I am scared that Episode 8 is going to suffer a similar fate) and when TDKR came out and it was not what they imagined, people were disappointed. I've never heard of a single person who was disappointed by Rises for that reason. What were people imagining and disappointed when they didn't get it?

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 7, 2016 -> 08:50 PM) I don't get the Terminator 2 love. I mean, looking at the first three Terminator movies (I haven't seen any after that), the original is far and away the best, with T2 and T3 about the same and neither that great. Actually I feel like T3 was a better film than T2, though less exciting. Then again, I'm probably the only person here who thought Alien3 was a good movie (though not quite as good as the first two). I like to pretend any Alien films after 3 don't exist. T2 has iconic heroes, an iconic and original villain, and basically every action sequence (aquaduct chase, sanitarium breakout, Cyberdyne escape, highway chase, foundry fighting) is awesome. With the exception of one stinker (Arnold rolling off the liquid Nitrogen truck), the special effects are amazing and hold up well today. Alien 3 is perfectly respectable. It just gets beat up because it's hard to live up to 1 and 2.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Dec 24, 2015 -> 05:16 AM) Not sure on access to clinics in TN, but if this is a case of "she had to nowhere to go" I have a big issue with the charge. She lived just outside Nashville, which has a clinic.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 01:55 AM) When is the Empire/First Order going to stop building mega bases that have one major weakness? This is the 3RD! base that has been taken down but like a dozen X-Wings. Are they really that dumb? Well the second one was mid-construction. They hadn't finished it. Pretty huge design flaws in 1 and 3 though.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 21, 2015 -> 10:06 PM) Darth Maul was a good part of the prequels. Such a wasted villain. What was good about him? He literally had zero personality. And the overly acrobatic fight choreography in the prequels was awful. IM DOING FLIPS AND SPINNING IN A CIRCLE PLEASE DONT STAB ME WHILE I DO SO

Movie was fantastic. My one big complaint was that it didn't set up the big picture stuff very well. Can anyone explain the state of the galaxy post Battle of Endor? I thought there was an implication that the Emperor's death was the end of the empire or at least would scatter the remaining forces in a way that would make the New Republic the dominant faction. But here, it looks like Snoke just stepped in and its practically the status quo including easily building a new super duper death star. There's a Senate operating but it doesn't do anything. The rebels are stilll the rebels, hiding, and their entire "fleet" is like 20 XWings?

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 18, 2015 -> 07:31 PM) Part of my theory is that they wanted to hide the fact that Leia and Han were her parents so that she wouldn't learn that Luke was her uncle and Darth Vader was her grandfather. It may push her to the life that could lead to an early death if she starts trying to become a Jedi/Sith. So I think they shielded that life from her by not letting her know. They wanted to keep their kids in the datk about the force so they abandoned one on a crap planet...and had the other trained by Luke? Neither one of those choices makes sense.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 15, 2015 -> 04:16 AM) I keep hearing Cruz has had a master plan and is the frontrunner now. To any Republicos out there ... I have yet to study Cruz. Is he good? Could he beat my nemesis, Hilly? Is he the one who wants to get rid of the IRS? That would be cool. Can Cruz beat Hilly? For those of you who read my rants, is he the type of guy Greg will get excited bout? Cruz is a very extreme conservative - he's farther right than any other candidate. He's also infamously unlikable. The Republican establishment hates him because he doesn't cooperate with them, preferring to grandstand and cause problems to build his own hype. But, ultimately, he prefers most of the same positions they do, so they'll back him if he wins.
