  1. QUOTE(Reddy @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 07:58 PM) why is morneau batting 5th instead of 4th? not complaining... just wondering So they don't have two lefties batting next to each other in mauer and morneau
  2. Indians cut the tigers lead to three... 4 more innings left...
  3. if there is any truth to this bmac/soriano bs... may be Ozzie will have a real quick hook with javy... and we can pitch Bmacs arm off tonight.
  4. This site is ridiculas... The sox string together 9 wins and all the suddens they are the repeating word series champions... Lose 7 of 9 and Ozzie is a terrible manager... and this team is going nowhere but down... I think we all need to temper our enthusiasm... and our depression. That or start taking xanax.
  5. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 03:34 PM) Not in a game as important as this one, just ask a real manager like Jim Leyland. Say that again when Mags blows out his knee in August.
  6. there are two ways to trophy island... one way is the American Sea and the other is the National Sea and then trophy island is in the October sea... and Garland definitley has been the man the past few starts.
  7. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jul 18, 2006 -> 08:39 PM) Not sayin...I'm just sayin.
  8. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 18, 2006 -> 05:01 PM) I somehow doubt that Freddy has a bizarre, infectious skin disease which has CNS side effects. has he been hanging out around the jays clubhouse?
  9. I've had enough of Mark Buerhle, DFA. btw what does dfa stand for? Death from above? Drop the F***ing A**hole?
  10. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 10:03 AM) Please don't tell me you're blaming the media for his poor pitching? not exactly... I'm saying the pressure of knowing that he has consecutive win streak going might have gotten into his head... the media (and all of us) probably added to the pressure I bet he wins the next 5 starts now that the streak isn't hanging over him like the Sword of Damocles...
  11. QUOTE(lukeman89 @ Jul 14, 2006 -> 11:43 PM) im glad he doesnt have to worry about keeping it going anymore. yeah... when the media started making a big deal about it his play started to decline... I wonder if that was a contributing factor.
  12. .... huh? attempting to bunt... could someone explain that? How could that possibly be a fineable offense?
  13. QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Jul 13, 2006 -> 11:10 AM) YES. I will say this though, Mr. Incredible is the quietest 40+ homer guy in Chicago .............. I dunno about that... enter Mr. World Series MVP....
  14. Does he still throw a curve ball with out the seems? Bobby >>>>>>> the world
  15. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 13, 2006 -> 08:20 PM) Flash, your man-love for Liriano could be premature. He might not be as effective after the league has seen him. But I'm probably wrong. He could always transfer his man love to Zach minor... he should be able to get 2 or 3 more wins before the league figures him out.
  16. QUOTE(WCSox @ Jul 13, 2006 -> 07:35 PM) The Caucasians who had the "socioeconomic advantage" did so 30-500 years ago. Those that you're speaking with now most likely did not. "Reverse racism" is a legitimate issue today and shouldn't be dismissed. Whites still have a definite socioeconomic advantage... its not as entranched as it once was... but its still there. It takes more then a few supreme court rulings and legislative band aids to erase the damage done by hundreds of years of slavery.
  17. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 13, 2006 -> 03:19 PM) Hold on. Everyone take a step back and ask yourself, "Do I really care?" Honestly, the answer should be a resounding "no." How much different would your life, or anything, be if they had won? Not at all. A couple things. it would still be nice to see the Sox get more recognition from the national medai.
  18. Well... Bray and Majewaodifjslkgjalk are both pretty decent relievers and both are young... Lopez is a real good bat... but has pretty terrible defense... Royce would probably be a defensive upgrade... definitely looks like a dumb move in the long term... but the defense and pitching help might be just enough to get them past the cards this year...
  19. highlight below for the spoiler: Steelers win best team and Cowher wins best coach... Bulls***, right?
  20. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 12, 2006 -> 10:29 PM) From Some Dude on WSI: Damn it feels good to be a gansta.
  21. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 13, 2006 -> 01:34 AM) Typical. If a white person is a victim of discriminitory remarks, he's supposed to let it go. If it's a black or as we have recently seen, a homosexual, then the whole damn world wants to decapitate whoever said the remarks. Because in our country's relatively short history white people haven't been discriminated against (one of the benifites of not being a minority)... Hillbilly is basically synonomous with ignorant, it doesn't carry the same history as F** or N*****... A black man or a homosexual walking in an unfamiliar neighborhood hear those words and they immidiately fear for there safety... I'm not saying its right, but thats the way it is. The best way for Bobby to handle this is to ignore it and don't give it the credibility of a response. If he wants to sue this asshole... do it in the offseason... I don't want Bobby thinking of anything other then the next batter.
  22. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Jul 12, 2006 -> 10:42 PM) Well said my friend. It's filled with half-truths, half-heards, and rampant speculation. If I was Jenks, I would seek any avenue of legal recourse available. It's borderline slander, and I at least think an apology is in order. That would be a terrible idea... just let this stuff die... sure he might make some money... but if there is any truth behind the rumors, you can bet your ass the muck rakers will find it. Bottom line is Bobby is damn fine ball player, living in a very diverse city, playing in a very diverse club house, and his superiors are a Latino, an African American, and a Jew. Any racist views he may have had are obviously in his past... he should just continue to let his actions speak to his defense... and this crap will just die. QUOTE(AirScott @ Jul 12, 2006 -> 11:56 PM) since Bill Simmons got his own page on ESPN and isn't really considered as Page 2 and Ralph Wiley died, I don't read Page 2 at all. if something interesting is pointed out to me by someone I'll read it, but otherwise I steer clear. Hunter S. Thomson and Bill Simmons are the only writers I liked...
