Where Can You Find that Iconic Pic/Poster of the 1993 Clinch?

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 15, 2011 -> 03:46 PM) Yeah, I hear that. I was also absolutely CRUSHED in 2000 (being 17). 93 and the rise of Frank were amazing and got me to the Sox at age 10, the late nineties had some epic-bad pitching, 2000 was sweet, 2001-2004 were very frustrating, 2005 was jizz central, and since it's been a cavalcade of frustration. EDIT: Someone retroactively give Frank that MVP Award for 2000, already. Stupid juicin' Giambi. '05 will be my favorite until the next one. I do admit that '05 was kind of anticlimactic. I wouldn't say that every year since '05 was that bad. '08 was a fun year for me. Game 162, the blackout game, those are good memories. -
The fans. Oh it says which player . . . the most. I agree with those that said gordon.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 08:08 PM) So you have Ozzie accusing the team of quitting....he's the best! http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,1522982.story He is just putting the focus on himself, and off of the team.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 07:32 PM) White Sox Baseball: You Can't Easily Change Your Favorite Team, So You Just Have To Deal With It I like this one. They could show some "highlights" of Dunn and Rios at the plate, mixed in with some awful fielding, a clip of ozzie calling white sox fans idiots, then say: 2012 White Sox: Deal with it.

"We're all Dunn"

I'm thinking something along the lines of "We're doubling down". Its not perfect (poker vs blackjack) obviously. There is also the possibility that they distance themselves from this season as much as possible, which would probably be a wise move, as this was a gigantic failure of a season. The trouble is, they would likely have to change things up considerably with the roster and or management to do that successfully, and I don't think they will. So, what do you think it will be? What do you think it definitely won't be? (for fun)

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 8, 2011 -> 11:50 AM) If the players don't require the boos to know that they are disappointing the fans, then they don't need cheers to know when they've pleased the fans. They probably don't need either.

QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Sep 9, 2011 -> 12:10 AM) See: last play of the game. Kreutz got completely blown up by Ryan Pickett, got no push, and left Ingram to jump head first into 3 defenders. Kreutz fail. Oh, must have missed that. I changed the channel right away in frustration. -
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 8, 2011 -> 11:30 PM) Here's a prediction for next year: Rios is the starting LF and De Aza/Lillibridge platoon in CF. The Sox organization is supposedly extremely frustrated by Rios' defense in CF, and that seems to be even more obvious with Ozzie's quotes the other day. Quentin is gone then?

QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Sep 8, 2011 -> 10:49 PM) Kreutz fail. Glad he's gone. He looked confused out there a few times, and took on the wrong player, but I didn't see him getting blown up like I did last year, -

Doesn't he have a right to catch the ball? Seems like he was going for it, and any contact was incidental. He almost caught it. I wouldn't say it was a terrible call though. It was questionable. Anyway, I was surprised at the saints ability to score and move the ball on the pack. I hope that's how the packers defense really is. -
Peavy looks to get at least one more start

QUOTE (Papa Tru @ Sep 8, 2011 -> 11:46 AM) I wish Peavy would look to go away I'm not. I think there is a good chance he can pitch very well next year, since he is healthy now and he will have time off. As the article mentions, he has been dominant at times. He only has one more guaranteed year with the sox, and I'm glad about that. -
Congrats to juan. I wonder how many players have achieved that mark.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 8, 2011 -> 10:49 PM) I hope you're right, but face it, based on last September, you would have figured he would have provided a few more extra base hits this year, and OBP was horrific. He's starting to draw some walks. I didn't really pay attention to last years stats, honestly. I thought the potential was there based on his minor league career. I hope that he lives up to it. -

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 8, 2011 -> 10:48 PM) Yea maybe we can have a whole teams of .196 hitters who make a ton of errors and K a bunch of times. I'm sure that would be very productive. Can't believe you guys take every thing so literally as if I was saying Morel will have a Schmidt-like career. As I pointed out later, I just want to see people be a little more patient considering he's a rookie. The complaints about him should be way down on the list of complaints. I agree with you. I was just adding that the stats they used to compare the two were based on . . . I'm not sure what? I didn't think anyone here thought he would be mike schmidt. The point we are both trying to make, I think, is that with some time, its quite possible that he improves. He has shown some potential. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 8, 2011 -> 10:41 PM) I think even Morel's biggest fans would think comparing Brent with Mike Schmidt is beyond ridiculous. It is. I am just trying to say that I think it is likely that he will improve his OPS by at least .100 points and be a cheap and valuable asset to the team for the next 4 years. -

Since you are making arbitrary stats that have little to no meaning in actual production. - here is another: Walks + HR - Ks = better career Schmidt: -56 Morel: -29 Brent wins! HOF first ballot. Best 3B all time. I'm kidding of course, but why not look at something like OPS which is more agreed upon. Brent is obviously lagging there, (.697 v .634) but not by a huge amount. Schmidt ended up with a career OPS .200 points higher than that. If brent can improve his ops by even half that, .100, while providing the plus defense he is quite capable of, he will have a very solid career. I think its more likely than it is unlikely. -

I'm hoping that he wisely decided to be a contact guy as he learned, and then later decided to take a more aggressive approach. It could all be a coincidence though. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 8, 2011 -> 09:52 PM) I actually think he's going to be a bust. He might end up being a bust. He is a much better prospect than brent, offensively and overall. I just think that the first year in the majors is rarely indicative of that player's ceiling.
