  1. Is mike martz retarded? I'm not being hyperbolic. Does he not realize you can both run and pass in a drive?
  2. This has to be the most coveted gm job in basbeall that is open.
  3. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 09:50 PM) Brewers vs. Rays in the World Series. +1 QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 09:20 PM) Go Aberdeen! What's with the odd picture on the banner? http://www.aberdeen-md.org/
  4. QUOTE (Lillian @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 04:37 AM) Your points are all well taken, and I suppose that you're right, but I just wonder at what point management has to stop hoping for a turnaround from Rios and Dunn. I think it depends upon their standings. If they are anywhere close, I'd say they evaluate them on june 1st.
  5. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 03:16 PM) ...in the booth. Ugh. I've really grown to dislike Hawk, he's just so irritating and he has no rhythm with Stone. I hate to say it, but I think a lot of the time its stones fault. I find myself understanding where hawk was going, and wondering why stone said what he did. Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of hawk. I just feel that stone lacks some understanding - he probably hasn't listened to hawk for as many years as most of us. So who is to blame? Both? Neither? The person who decided that they would make a good team?
  6. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 12:00 AM) But that's how the average Boston fan thinks. They truly believe that they are more deserving of championships than other teams. There was a particularly annoying bosox fan in right field at camden yards tonight that made it hard for me to relate. He was laughing and clapping loudly, egging on orioles fans for seeming no reason. This was just before the bottom of the 9th inning. Bosox fans have an insulting sense of entitlement that rivals no one, considering what their team has done. I am quite happy to see them lose tonight.
  7. I do believe that walker was hardly a factor and did help some of the white sox hitters.
  8. I've never believed I deserve anything when it comes to baseball or anything else in life for that matter. I can either support the team I love or not. As far as deserving something for making that choice? Stupid.
  9. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 11:41 PM) Honestly, it is. I kept wanting to turn the games off for good because I didn't want to deal with watching things go the exact opposite way of what I wanted. Then, it was suddenly exactly what I wanted. Really - its hard not to want to watch the playoffs this year after that. You also have to wonder if they might reconsider wanting to expand the playoffs.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 11:19 PM) That homer reminded me of when McGwire broke Maris' record. Why?
  11. Is there a smaller park than the Ray's? 314 on the left. 322 on the right. I never realized this, because their pitching still seems to be so solid.
  12. I love that the orioles went nuts too.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 11:07 PM) What a long bomb! lol.
  14. hahahahaha. YES! Score a run rays.
  15. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 10:56 PM) I'm pulling for the BoSox so we can start recruiting Martinez... Sorry. I just hate bosox fans.
  16. What the hell were they yelling in the cards locker room?
  17. I am almost alone in wanting sandy, which makes sense, because I am not sure why I want him.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 12:09 AM) I hope everybody realizes LaRussa was a pipe dream now. He's done a great job this season. No way in the world they'll let him manage another team. He's in St. Looie til he decides to hang 'em up. Whose pipe dream? I don't think anyone had him as their top choice. He was just a rumor that the media threw out there.
  19. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 11:44 PM) He grew up a Cubs fan. Now, on the point about the Cubs GM position basically being an Assistant GM job. Would that make the Assistant GM job for the Sox actually an assistant to the Assistant GM job? You know, since JR seems to think he's the GM and KW can only do things that he tells him to do. No, as I tried to make it clear that it was relative to the white sox organization already. I don't really know or care though. This is all crap I heard from sports talk radio and I was just playing devil's advocate.
  20. Yeah, greg might like that pile of s***. This might be how the nation sees things. I don't think its how white sox fans see things. I, for one, identify with the team itself, not the former manager. Not once did I think of this team as ozzie's team, that he was that important. Maybe if you live outside of Chicago you have some other perspective in which this article makes sense.
