Worst Farm System in Baseball
QUOTE (PolishPrince34 @ Oct 29, 2011 -> 03:30 PM) Elias Rankings came out for Type A and Type B free agents. It sucks that Buehrle just missed being a Type A free agent. We could of gotten an extra 1st or 2nd round draft pick if he didn't tail off at the end of the year. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2011/09/2010...s-rankings.html I really believe that AJ is worth much more than people around here seem to think in trade. He might be type A next year too. 6 mil isn't really that much money for a year. I also find it hilarious that he has the same numerical ranking as joe mauer.

Oddly I thought this game would suck because the giants are the much better team. It also sucks because I don't care about the dolphins at all though.

My lord. Everything that needed to be said in this thread was said on page 88.

I agree with pale sox. Trades, much like everything else in the world (but that's another argument), are not dualistic. Saying 'the cardinals won the trade' implies that they are.

Sox #101 of 122 in smartest spenders in sports
Picking 5 seasons arbitrarily really makes a huge difference for the white sox and probably quite a few other teams.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 12:21 AM) And we had Widger, Timo, Hermanson, etc. Those first two were role players. Hermanson doesn't belong on the list. He was a serviceable starter and could have been a decent reliever.

QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 12:15 AM) It makes me sick to see a team with Nick freaking Punto in its starting lineup one game away from a WS win. They have Ryan Theriot too. Its hard for me to get my head around.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 12:01 AM) I'm pretty sure it was already decided that Harrison would start Game 7...so if he had already made up his mind about that, I don't see using Holland as a bad move. I would say that two wrongs don't make a right, but I guess it remains to be seen if starting harrison over holland is a good move.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 11:36 PM) That's true, he carried them in the ALCS...but man, that was clearly a ball he should have caught. If you're going to say this game should be over because of something other than ineffective bullpen pitching, than it is Cruz's play much more than any strategical move which has impacted this game. Ron's decision to use holland was his worst, and one I was questioning hard at the time. Didn't cost them the game, but it might cost them the series.

Nice. We get to see a game 7. I bet the final score is ridiculously high.

QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 11:30 PM) What he do wrong? I don't agree with many of his moves, but they are all arguable and I don't want to go there. Mostly, I just can't stand the guy. He seems like more of a cheerleader than a head coach.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 01:12 AM) I literally sat in my dorm room by myself, no booze, I bought 2 large sprites from mcdonalds and ate pop tarts while I watched the game and all the post game coverage. I was such a cool freshman. Hey at least you made it through freshman year, unlike me.

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Oct 25, 2011 -> 04:27 PM) Others studies show that 1 in 6 cell phones are infected with poop remnants, but that cannot possibly apply to Theo's. Assuming he even makes it, his poop is doubtless fragrant and antiseptic. He's going to be on Tribune Live this evening, so I'm expecting a tweet from Kaplan to confirm.

I could be the next hitting coach too. I'd be terrible at it, but I could be it.

Underwater refinancing?
Appraisers estimate the value of a home almost entirely on recent past sales, not future projections. They still do that, and its not the sole fault of either entity.
