  1. Gamethread changed to 4/7 for now, I'll fix the starting pitchers once they are announced.
  2. We'll leave this gamethread up for tomorrow, and fix the starting pitchers once we get it all sorted out.
  3. That made me lollerskate from yesterdays notes.
  4. And thanks maggsmaggs for finally bringing us the first back to back gamethread starter!
  5. He pitched pretty damn well, came in and did about the best we could hope for. His FB has nice movement, running in.
  6. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 04:17 PM) Say you're sorry. I'm sorry that Pods only shows up once out of every 8 games or so. And right on cue, CS...rockin'.
  7. Pods singlehandedly gonna win this game for us.
  8. Damn good job out of the pen today Masset, lets hope Sisco/Mac can get us 6 more outs, a run or two in between, and Bobby can secure us a win!! P.S. - We'll need more than 1 hit.
  9. Good lord that was a sick freaking pitch to K Hafner.
  10. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 03:38 PM) What an effective lefty/lefty combo to lead our lineup today! Careful, Pods has a hit today, therefore apparently you aren't allowed to discuss how hitting back to back lefties against a lefty is moronic. HE HAS A HIT ZOMG!
  11. Masset has come on and really done a good job. Lets get more than one GD hit and maybe give him some support...
  12. Nice to see us taking walks and all, but can anyone do some damage with runners on? Gooch time
  13. Because in theory, why the hell would you put 2 lefties at 1 and 2 against a lefty? What rationale does that go by? And define 'well'....we have one f***ing hit, I'm not gonna say ANYONE is playing 'well' in this game against the overpowering Sowers!!!
  14. Where have you gone, White Sox team of olde??? And seriously, Pods is playing because....
  15. You don't teach pitchers to walk 10 f***ing people in a game...thats flat on the back of the pitchers, not Coop... Good lawd.
  16. Man oh man, I'm glad I was on the way to the airport here while this gamethread and trainwreck of a game was going on. I see our bullpen is trashed 2 games into the season, horoah. Gamethread post updated, someone with some good vibes post a friggin gamethread tomorrow please.
  17. Heres to one of our own, aboz turns 25 today. Hope its a great day.
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 3, 2007 -> 01:12 AM) Cripes, its one freaking start. Yes it was terrible but he looked healthy this spring showing good velocity and movement on his pitches. I slammed Jose more than anyone last year when he was struggling due to injuries (mainly because half of this board and almost all Sox fans kept calling him an ace just because of the way he started the season while they completely ignored how he tanked after being placed on the DL). However, lets make sure we realize one thing, Jose still has the best stuff of anyone on this staff (Vazquez a close 2nd) and we are going to need him to pitch. Well since we are busy to write these guys off so fast, maybe we should also write off McCarthy who had an absolutely horrendous spring (he looked terrible in the Rangers spring game I watched in person as well). Come on flash, who are we to evaluate players based on there major league debut. I swear, we won't know too much about this squad till the end of May (unless of course we jump off to some amazing or absolutely horrendous start). While I agree its way too early to evaluate/critique guys on one appearance, tell me this Jas....how is it acceptable to have Masset and Aardsma come in with no ability to throw strikes, walk 4 guys in 5 IP, and justify either of them as making this team when the walks were the ONLY reason(besides some Ozzie hate, thats another issue) that Logan got optioned to AAA?
  19. Not sure Bear, I cancelled my auto-resubscribe for the normal plan, then bought the premium.
  20. Was sleeping off and on during the game today(15 hour workday right up until gametime). I see that Masset and Aardsma started the sucking early... 5 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 4 BB, 3 K Those walks are simply untolerable....give me a break. If you get beat, do it by making the opposing team HIT the ball.
  21. BTW I update this daily, but because I use the same file name, you usually have to refresh the thread. Sorry, I'm set in my ways!!
  22. Well folks, the 2007 season is indeed upon us. Opening day is but hours away and most of us view today as a second Christmas....a time where every team in the league has a shot to win it all(Except KC, they never do). Hope springs eternal for all of us MLB team fans. With those thoughts, and the knowledge that we Soxtalk folks love our gamethreads and the superstitions that come along with who starts them, I've got a nifty idea that I want to give a shot and be in charge of. Gamethread starters, we're gonna see just how 'lucky' you are this season. I'm going to keep a running tally of the Sox' record corresponding to the Soxtalker who started the thread. In addition, there are a couple more rules to keep it competitive for all: 1) Gamethreads CANNOT be started until the actual day OF the game. No coming on here 1 hour after todays game is over, and starting tomorrows. Everyone should have a fair shake at starting them. 2) If the Sox WIN, whoever started that days gamethread gets exclusive rights to start the next days gamethread. They have up until 2 hours before the game to get it posted, else its free reign for everyone. Feel free to post the next gamethread if you do start a winner, so that we are assured you start the next one. 3) The gamethread starter gets to continue in that manner as long as the Sox win each game, as long as the gamethread is posted in previous stated timeframes. 4) If the Sox LOSE, whoever started that days gamethread CANNOT start another gamethread for 7 calendar days....NOT 7 Sox games. All in all, its just for fun, but I'll be keeping track of those locked out of starting gamethreads, and the W-L of everyone over all in this thread. I wish you all luck, Steve9347 gets the honor to start the season. Go Sox, and go gamethread starters!!
  23. Hah, pretty good. "Are you SURE you don't want to acquire Sandy Alomar, Jr?"
  24. Erstad, the lefty, starting in CF. SHOCKED I tell you, SHOCKED I am.
  25. Fortunes turned fast for Hermie, that sucks to see. Always will be one of the good guys that was an integral piece of a magical season on the Southside.
