RIP Kurt. I was always partial to Breakfast of Champions myself, Slaughterhouse 5 was one everyone in school had to read and was still enjoyable.
  4. Great pitching ALL series, minus the 9th inning last night. Very impressive series guys, and lets hope the bats are waking up. Jose, Javy, Buehrle, Aaaaaardsma, Sisco, hats off to the pitching. Impressive come from behind in a place that always gives us hell.
  5. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 06:09 PM) What's Bobby's velocity like? Still s***ty, but seems better mixing the hammer in today.
  6. Thats what I'm talking about, back to back offspeed pitches had Piazza all out of sorts.
  7. Well, this will either turn out brilliant because our closer got his confidence back, or a disaster..
  8. Oh yes, forgot this would be 3rd game in a row...hmm, Aardsma with Masset and Thor warm maybe?
  9. If it holds as a 3 run lead, then yes I say its Bobby time. But be creative with that pitch calling PLEASE AJ
  10. NO! Not Bobby Jenks
  11. C'mon Pods..DO EET.
  12. Lets get one back from their closer, return the favor here and get outta town.
  13. Buehrle was pretty damn good SA1. Got squeezed a bit in the 1st, got hit hard and gave up a few hits strung together with walks.
  14. Awesome AB for grindErstad.
  15. QUOTE(Friend of Nordhagen @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 05:25 PM) My theory is that Pods is off to a good start, and Ozzie is not going to do anything that might upset his fragile confidence. That's why he left him in the field last night, and that's why he's not pinch-hitting for him in situations that he might have last year. Man, and I'm not singling you out....but if I have to hear about poor Scott Podsednik's 'fragile confidence' anymore....jesus. He sucks defensively, and the law of averages will catch up with him offensively. You put your team in the best position to win, period. Egos don't get to interfere with that, well in a realistic world. But we all know thats not the case with the '07 Sox anyways.
  16. SO now we have the blazing fast AJ Pierzynski on the bases
  17. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 05:16 PM) Ozuna is a righty. Geren would have just stayed with Calero. OK, why not Mack or Erstad then. The point still remains.
  18. Just a question, but why no PH with Ozuna or such, THEN make a move after the pitching change. Now you just got aced because AJ HAS to stay in to hit against a lefty.
  19. I'm tired of this crap. Yet ANOTHER quality start by our pitching, yet we've scored 6 runs in 3 games against average A's pitchers(Besides Harden).
  20. QUOTE(HeGone33 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 05:01 PM) Now we blame it on where he is hitting.......geez!! OK. Tell me who is the better option for hitting in the 2 hole: Choice A)The guy who has 1 AB all year, not a great contact hitter, not great OBP history, long loopy swing Choice B)The guy who hit 2nd for 2 YEARS with this team, posted a great OBP, used to the role and does the things that are needed hitting 2nd Its pretty simple.
  21. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 05:00 PM) Your generation, you mean the living? Aka the 20/30 somethings that identified with the guys in the booth that came from their era, that we saw through the minors and in the majors as the same age as us.....pretty self explanatory.
  22. QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 04:58 PM) Erstad makes that catch too. So does Terrero. Whoopee.... Thats a helluva assumption. Difference is BA ALWAYS makes that catch. And Terrero does? How many games have you seen him play in, in the majors?
  23. QUOTE(Maverick0984 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 04:55 PM) What about the examples of why he shouldn't be in there every day? Like everything being said in the thread prior to his nice catch. So quick to forget? Being put in a position to fail, a la 2nd in the order, isn't exactly helping either.
