If I'm presented with the opportunity to move Garcia for Santana, then I have to SERIOUSLY hold back my giddyness if I'm KW....I would be all ears at that idea, unless they started kicking around the wrong names to go with Garcia...

Just found yet another way to lose a game against a Top 15 team. This South Carolina team has been in every game until teh last minute, and always finds a way to lose. I think its 4 straight games now that the secondary has gone for the INT instead of knocking the ball down, and it resulting in a TD for the other team. It was the difference last week against Arkansas, and today against Tennessee...not to mention a 6'6" guy blocking any kick that was tried. I guess only having 6 scholarship seniors on a very young team, you should expect some tough losses.....but this is just an extremely painful year.

The thing to me here is, in the last week..week and a half, when we REALLY had to win games against Detroit, Boston, etc to have any shot at the playoffs, it HASN'T been the starting pitching thats let us down(besides Buehrle who is a whole other issue). The hitting has been abysmal lately, save one 7-0 game against Detroit. Garland is Garland, and I'm quite impressed with his ability to still win 17 games the way he started this year. Freddy has looked pretty damn good here lately, Javy found his strikeout mojo and if he can K guys, give 6-7 IP with 3ish runs per, I'm happy. Contreras....I don't know what to think about him...I'd almost be inclined to move Jose, something just doesn't feel right here to me.

Granted, Miss. St's offense is questionable, but you can't deny that a USC defense, with 10(TEN) new starters for tonights game did a helluva job. We Gamecock faithful got a bit of a scare when Mitchell went down in teh first half, luckily it was just a cut on his leg. 5 Sacks, 2 INTs, a shutout, and constant pressure on the Bulldog offense. I'm happy with the defense. Spurriers offense, on the other hand...

Agree totally. I have spent parts of about 4 weeks this year over in the UK, and a couple things struck me while there... #1) Fast food just doesnt exist in the glutton that it does here in the States. This country has made it WAY too easy for people to be lazy f***s, drive their car through a fast food drive through, get their order of cholesterol and calories supreme sized, with a F'n Diet Coke...cause that makes em feel better about what they ate. #2) Portions overseas, well lets just say that you aren't going to have that sinking feeling in your stomach because you ate enough sausage to feed a small apartment complex. And it works once you are used to it! I'll admit, I don't exercise worth a damn...BUT...right now my metabolism combined with the scaled back intake of food keeps me at about 180 lbs at age 29, the same size I've been for years.

I like blaming Ozzie for alot of things just like you guys, when he mismanages the 'pen. But c'mon people, its an 11-5 game, you SHOULD be able to throw Cotts and Riske in there, and just expect them to get outs. Don't pin everything on Oz just cause you can.

Back to the proper sig for whats coming up in 2 days!! Lots of unknowns for this years USC team, a VERY young defense, an offense in its 2nd year under Spurrier, one of the best recievers in the country, and a real dangerous game on the road to open the season against a hungry Mississippi State team on national TV....this is a trap game.

Funny how that got derailed for a bit there haha. Ace had me thoroughly confused there too, Mauer is far from a 'dime a dozen' guy As for JD, I agree with Balta. If this team makes the playoffs, then yes JD gets my nod for sure as MVP, hes been the one constant in this lineup ALL year.
