  1. Matt Thornton is a fishing stud, enough said. Jon Garland awesome game Jonny
  2. Mack in CF + Spacious Comerica Park = Recipe for extra base disaster
  3. 3 IP, 8 H, 8 R, 7 ER Thanks for the effort Ace.
  4. Yay us....ok gents, 6-0, Buehrle looks as effective as Cliff Politte. I'm going outside for a while, enjoy your Sox keystone cop performance.
  5. That pitch was just pathetic...these guys' last 2 years of inflated innings pitched has to be starting to wear and tear on them, or something..I wish I had the answers.
  6. Ah...so THATS what a leadoff hitter than can bunt looks like.
  7. Anytime Gooch has 2 strikes, I'm afraid to watch
  8. I love me some station to station offense!! :headshake
  9. They're not gonna touch Mooses offspeed stuff today...
  10. I'm sorry, but 1st inning Mark Buehrle can kiss my ass...he is so awful in the 1st inning of his games. And yes, before the Buehrle apologists show up, it WAS a bad read on BA I know.
  11. I run a Motorola G WIreless network SF1. I have my cable modem ethernet cable going into my Motorola G Wireless Router, then i have 3 PCs downstairs, and 1 upstairs. with a mix of wired and wireless. The PC upstairs really isnt' even close, and it always has a strong signal. Just pick up another "G" wireless PCI card for your PC currently downstairs, and set it up to receive your current wireless signal. Should be no issues at all.
  12. I BETTER not see Chris f***ING Widger up this inning...
  13. Gooch is on pace to K 120 times this year. Add to that, his OBP is worse than Pods. Add to that, that Pods is a better base runner in terms of speed....well we need a more prototypical leadoff hitter if we get a new LFer.
  14. Gooch /= a leadoff hitter It just doesnt fit. AaRow can stay in Philly...if we get a new LFer, he damn better be able to leadoff in the order too.
  15. Ditto. Saw that show when they opened the tour in Atlanta....I had never thought too much about Weezer in years, but they actually put on a pretty damn good show on that tour...I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed it thoroughly.

After reading his info again, it is indeed the case. We don't get the Yankees part of Javys contract...so if we split it between this year and next year for argumentative purposes, Javy costs us the same as Garcia. If either of the 2 are moved, I'd expect and REALLY hope for it to be Garcia.
  17. I kinda thought the last effort was pretty good IMO. Pinkerton will always be way up there for me though, just was like "Uh, what the f*** is this?" at first when you heard it, then it grew on you.
  18. I may be in the minority here, but I would MUCH rather move Garcia and his mysterious velocity loss style of pitching to the Phils in a deal involving Gordon. Vazquez is signed through next year, will cost us approximately $6.5 mil in 2007(compared to Garcias $10 mil monstrosity), and still has the better stuff if he can get over the tantrums on the mound.

If other teams are willing to take on a headcase for their rotation in Weaver, then surely they are willing to bite on Garcia or Javy....though I'm not quite sure which I'd be more willing to move right now honestly...
  20. So heres what I see so far for 2007 payroll: Javier Vazquez $10 mil Freddy Garcia $10 mil Jose Contreras $9 mil Mark Buehrle $9.5 mil club option Jon Garland $10 mil Our starting rotation is already in at $48.5 million. Jim Thome $7 mil *(this assumes that the $22 mil we got from Philly is split equally on his contract from 06-08) Paul Konerko $12 mil Jermaine Dye $6 mil team option A.J. Pierzynski $5.5 mil Juan Uribe $4.15 mil Tadahito Iguchi $3.25 mil team option Rob Mackowiak $2.75 mil Thats who is signed for sure for 2007. Thats $89.15 million dollars in 12 guys next year already. Now lets consider these arbitration eligible names that we still control: Joe Crede ($2.675 mil in 06) Scott Podsednik ($1.9 mil in 06) Alex Cintron ($1.6 mil in 06) Pablo Ozuna ($0.5 mil in 06) Neal Cotts ($0.4 mil in 06) Matt Thornton ($0.355 mil in 06) Ross Gload ($0.35 mil in 06) We can assume that the club is gonna offer most of these guys arb. I would think, maybe not Gload or Cintron. Also consider Crede's salary will, I would think, go to the $6-8 mil mark for 07 even if we have to use arbitration and not get a multi-year deal done. Bobby Jenks ($0.34 mil in 06) Brandon McCarthy ($0.332 mil in 06) Brian Anderson ($0.332 mil in 06) The club can control the salaries on the above 3, due to less than 2 years MLB experience as of the end of 06. Dustin Hermanson ($3.5 mil option in 07) We can also assume Dustins option isn't going to be picked up. David Riske ($1.8 mil in 06) Cliff Politte ($1.2 mil in 06) Chris Widger ($0.65 mil in 06) Those are your 3 free agents not arbitration eligible, and their 2006 salaries. So, lets say we keep everyone under contract for next year. Lets also say Crede comes in at the $7 mil arbitration number. Our payroll sits at $96.15 million in 13 players. Future GMs and magistrates of this country....what deals/offers do you make, to cement the other 12 spots on our team? Including the arbitration salaries of the rest of our arb. eligible guys. Or, what we do to rid ourselves of some of our restraints. Back yourselves up with numbers. Lets see what you guys can come up with, since everyone has questioned KW at some point in his tenure.
  21. I have no interest in Torii Hunter, thank you. If we're gonna get an OFer for the rest of 2006 and beyond, I want it to be a corner OFer with leadoff hitter ability, thats it.

So, am I way off base here in reading: 2006: ChiSox are only paying 7.5 mil of Javys salary this year 2007: ChiSox are only paying 6.5 mil of Javys salary this year
