Sisco and Aardsma Complete Bullpen
QUOTE(SoxAce @ Mar 29, 2007 -> 02:23 AM) Well, I think everyone can agree that you are the most/best pessimist on this board. Well as long as no one tries to take my Title of "Biggest Pods critic ever", I'll be content and sleep ok at night!

Sisco and Aardsma Complete Bullpen
What a load of s***....yes, because Aardsma and Sisco both deserve spots over Logan "You have to earn your spot on the team in Spring Training." My ass.

Guillen's Familial Entourage
QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 28, 2007 -> 03:17 AM) Wow. 250k. I wish my dad had been a mediocre shortstop. I'm not afriad to admit that made me LOL literally...

Interesting News
QUOTE(bad at best @ Mar 28, 2007 -> 03:38 AM) BA had a better OBP and slugging percentage than Erstad this spring by quite a bit. He is a decade younger, not injury prone, and better on defense (from my eyes). The choice was clear here. BA should be starting in CF. Erstad in LF. Pods should be nowhere near a starting position. The organizations loyalty to pods is only beaten by its shafting of BA this spring. Holy s***!! I you man!! Someone that sees things exactly the way I do....

2007 White Sox Catch-All Thread
Hell, give me my grindErstad/BA/Dye OF, and I'll be the happiest Sox fan around(for at least 1 day). However, since we've had Pods penciled in as the starter the day KW and Oz knew he could walk straight again, theres no hope of such.

Interesting News
I'm just sold on the fact that Erstad in LF, BA in CF is our best OF option. Now, and before anyone even says it, yes I know that gives us zero options at leadoff, I'm just saying thats my best OF.

QUOTE(beck72 @ Mar 27, 2007 -> 07:40 AM) "I've definitely brought this upon myself, so I deserve to have to do what I'm doing," Anderson said. "I shouldn't have had anything handed to me." I give credit for Brian understanding what is going on. When a guy has two veterans ahead of him--[and most importantly for the Sox, two top of the order guys; if the sox only needed a number 8 hitter, Brian would be fine in CF]--and is coming off a horrible year when he was given a lot of time to develop--more than most teams who expect to make the playoffs--he's got to battle day in and day out. One good spring by a 25 yr old 2nd yr player isn't going to outdo 1 year, 3 months of proven production by Pods. The right call is having Pods and Erstad as starters to start the year. Anderson will be given the next shot if one of the two get hurt or suck. I remember reading a few days ago quotes from Ozzie saying he thought BA would be a superstar in this league. That kind of talk goes against the prevailing thought that Ozzie has it "out" for Anderson. Fixed that for you there.

Anyone Ready?
QUOTE(BFirebird @ Mar 26, 2007 -> 03:34 PM) This is a very good assessment of the White Sox current money situation. Kenny even admitted himself earlier either before ST or during that a lot of teams put themselves out of contention for next year's crop of FA because of the ridiculous deals they gave this past summer for inferior players. (I.E. the Cubs, Angels and Giants) Some of the potential FA's for this upcoming offseason is pretty staggering: NL: Carlos Zambrano Andruw Jones John Smoltz Doug Davis Randy Wolf Tom Glavine Barry Bonds Marcus Giles Kaz Matsui Pedro Feliz Rod Barajas Javy Lopez Craig Wilson AL: Mariano Rivera Ichiro Suzuki Bobby Abreu Curt Schilling Carlos Guillen Torii Hunter Jermaine Dye Andy Pettitte Jake Westbrook Shea Hillenbrand Joe Borowski Octavio Dotel Jose Guillen Mike Piazza Jeff Weaver Mike Lowell Bartolo Colon Scott Podsednik Huh?...OHHHHH!! I get it, its like "Pick which named doesn't belong with the others!!"

Interesting News
5 bullpen guys won't happen. I'm more concerned now about finding a guy who can catch, hit over .180, not be a complete defensive liability, and throw >20% of runners out.

Making the team, and making the team in the right role are still way different. And the fact remains that Mr. Hypocrite said: a ) the guy that goes out and performs the best will win the CF job b ) we won't keep BA up here if he isn't playing regularly, 'it isn't fair to him'. So like Kalapse said, how is this right really?

Kalapse
Its an ongoing Kalapseathon!! Let it go on for 40 days and nights!! The masses shall celebrate daily!! Or we could just bury it under links of silly TV shows

Is Floyd being groomed for the pen?
So we've got Floyd, Aardsma, Sisco for the last spot(assuming Masset and Logan are in). Its like the best of the worst to me...I'd go for Sisco, let Floyd go work in the bandbox, Knights Stadium.

Toby Hall injured in the 9th Inning today...
Oz doesn't seem too concerned, but seperated shoulder + catcher can't be the easiest thing in the world to overcome quickly. Hopefully, we won't be privy to the Wiki experience for too long if Hall has to visit the DL.

Hey, not a bad lil contact hitter. You know how it goes...throw enough crap into a frying pan, and see what works out. Who ever knows with infielders. Least the kid is young still.

Danks wins White Sox fifth starter's job
QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 01:18 PM) boy, Floyd and Gio for Freddy just looks worse and worse and worse (shakes head) Again, until I get a better grip on Hideaway this season, I HOPE to god thats sarcasm again. I don't see how anyone can disagree with that deal right now. We got one of our lefties that SoxTalk has been pining and drooling over getting back in Gio, a guy who has the tools to be good but hasn't put it together yet in Floyd, for a veteran righty who has lost the ability to be the power pitcher he once was, posted a stellar 2.42 WHIP this spring(ST or not, thats just bad! 8.2 IP, 15 H, 11 ER, 6 BB, 2 Ks).

Thats pretty spot on from roto, exactly what myself, Kalapse and a few others have been preaching since day 1 of ST camp. Its sad to see how obvious it is to those that don't live and die by every silly Arizona pitch like we at Soxtalk to, yet Oz continues the charade...

Haeger to AAA
I think its really safe to say that Haegar didn't deserve a roster spot in the pen at this point, even if I wanted him there myself. He didn't show alot really, "Arizona thin air" or not. In all reality, we have to look at the pen like this: 2 Spots left, assuming we go with 11 pitchers which is most likely. 1) At this point, Logan seems as close to a lock as there is. 2) Sisco(Best choice IMO), Floyd, Aardsma are all vying for the last spot. Aardsma kinda makes me cringe. Floyd, well I've not seen anything that really says he can get anyone out consistently. Sisco at least has been going after hitters. Giving up hits is one thing as a reliever. Coming in from the 'pen, and walking guys is inexcusable though.

Danks wins White Sox fifth starter's job
So much for Russell getting a say in the competition. I want Danks up there just as much as most others, but feel like its still a bit of a rush.

3/23/06 Sox @ Rockies 3:05 CT

Sox v Mariners, at TEP, 3:05pm, 3/22/07

QUOTE(JoeBatterz @ Mar 21, 2007 -> 04:00 PM) With as infatuated as KW has been with Griffey, the Reds might be high on that list. Oh god JB, PLEASE don't start that talk again. You are gonna make Soxtalk meltdown with that.
