Konerko K on a pitch down and away? SHOCKED! And you think the book on how to get PK out isn't out for every team?

I can't wait to see all the BA hater/Pods lovers come and say "See, he shouldn't be playing" after Anderson gets out. I'm sure it won't have anything to do with the 1 AB in 7 previous games.

Sox Loss Postgame Thread
What.the.f***. Um Ozzie, quit talking out of your ass. Better yet, quit talking period. So WHERE ARE YOU GOING TO PLAY BA DEFENSIVELY? Him in CF and grindErstad to LF make so much sense it isn't funny. You just keep proving your point to KW there, by letting BA sit and rot away because your hand was forced w.r.t. the roster. This is absolutely absurd.

Lets leave last nights debachle in the Postgame thread. There is plenty of blame tossed around in there, lets keep this thread focused on the game at hand. Ultra-rare Brian Anderson appearance! Tape it on TIVO! Call a friend! He lives!

Ozzie needs Joe Nossek. Now there was a bench strategist and ultimate sign stealer.

Sox Loss Postgame Thread
Ah, my life is complete. Thanks for the link to my new avatar, it goes with my tagline quite well. Simple fact is, in 1 run games, late(read:8th and 9th inning), you put your best defensive team into the game. You don't think "Well what if I need this guy to hit in the 10th?" BS, grindErstad/BA/Mack should have been the defensive OF from left to right. Does that mean Jenks gets a free pass? Hell no, his pitch selection(partly on AJ) was as predictable as a Konerko AB is right now. If you are a hitter, you go up there sitting on a 90-93 mph fastball right down the cock(like Piazza and Bradley did) first pitch. If you don't get it, you foul off his cutter/slider/fastball until 2 strikes, then sit on the curve that you KNOW is coming. Pretty simple, and sad that us 'armchair generals' as we were called can see it so easily.

Anyone that sits and says there woulda been no difference between Pods and BA on a ball hit to them and a throw home, is only kidding themselves. Pods has no arm, period. Thats a fact, and it was still fairly close at home. Someone with...oh..a major league arm, aka..oh...BA, and its a play that could have been made.

QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 01:03 AM) The ball hit the wall, then came down and bounced off his head. Do you need glasses? I don't care if it hit the Bay, THEN hit Pods on the head....thats funny as hell to me to see it bounce off his noggin.

QUOTE(Wanne @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 12:54 AM) Yes... it did. If I wasn't so goddamn mad right now...I'd be laughin' my ass off because that's one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Jesus....unreal. As mad as I am, I'm still here laughing hysterically at the melon shot off of Prancer, that is A1 quality gold there! Only in Oakland.

The loss is definately not on Pods first and foremost, theres no way in hell you can say it is. Its on Bobby and his inability to remember how to throw a fastball..FAST. Its on AJ for a s***ty pitch selection in the 9th. But hey, at least he is hitting .117 Its THEN on Ozzie for leaving Prancer in LF when we have a fantastic defensive outfielder on our bench, eating sunflower seeds.

Blazing Bobby's 91 mph heater + Prancer noodle arming and head bouncing = Recipe for yet another Oakland loss

WTF is this 91 mph 'heat' Bobby? Nice to see we didn't have our defensive OF out there, great throw Prancer, thanks alot.

QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 12:17 AM) God damn A's. Your D is suppose to suck. Ellis only made 2 errors in 134 games last year. While the rest of their D may suck, Ellis is one of, if not the best fielding second basemen in the game. In other news, our 'power' hitters continue to take atrocious approaches through 7 games.

grindErstad down to .250 now, grinding his way lower and lower.

BA and Dye must be looking at each other and shrugging their shoulders simultaneously... That made no sense at all.

While I agree that it wasn't a good place to lose the starting catcher there, with a runner not in scoring position, 2 outs.....its always the same story. How many times do we PH for our catcher at any point in the game? Very rarely.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 11:48 PM) would love to see BA pinch hit right here But don't you know? we MUST ALWAYS have a backup catcher available!! No matter what is happening in the game. Just ask Ozzie AJ, Kong, Crede all look pathetic at the plate this year. Seriously.
