  1. Well, a starting pitcher from this game did get traded today.
  2. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 03:00 PM) 2:59 Flowers K's that is how I feel about Hahn right now. It takes 2 to tango. It is funny, all these White Sox players supposedly suck so bad, yet Rick Hahn fails because other teams trying to win, don't want them.
  3. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 02:54 PM) Austin Jackson dealt along with Smyly. Is he still in the game?
  4. QUOTE (shysocks @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 02:45 PM) I have to assume a lefty is coming for Detroit. No.
  5. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 02:43 PM) Gillaspie PH Perfect managing by Robin.
  6. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 02:25 PM) Sigh. Please don't take what I said out of f***ing context like you do everything else. It was a throwaway freaking comment mostly based on how John Danks is throwing BP. It's pretty textbook to favor that matchup with a dangerous righty and 1st open. The way John was pitching my gut said no matter how good the platoon matchup Avila would make him pay. Well Danks made 3 good pitches and got out of it big f***ing deal either way. Good god man. You were trying to look smart. Say something is awful and if it blows up, see how smart you are? But if it works, it was a textbook move any manager would make, don't take what I posted out of context. Well I didn't take it out of context. Awful does not equal textbook. You were wrong. Just own up to it.
  7. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 02:21 PM) haha. A huge data point of one AB. Seriously though it was a textbook move. I probably would have removed Danks instead of putting another guy on but it worked out. LMAO. Textbook which you referred as awful.
  8. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 02:12 PM) Imma go on the record and say this is an awful move by Robin. We'll see how it plays out. Outmanaged by Robin Ventura on Soxtalk. The shame.
  9. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 02:06 PM) Fuld is a better player than De Aza. Fuld has an bop of .370 and plays great defense. From a baseball standpoint, I'd take De Aza over Fuld. Fuld is obviously better defensively, but offensively he should regress. He's been pretty bad most of his career. He is basically a defensive replacement/PR to me.
  10. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 02:03 PM) Milone for Fuld.... De Aza couldn't be traded for him? Milone is an extreme flyball pitcher. And if all Beane could get was Fuld, it means a lot of other teams weren't as impressed with Milone as apparently you are.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 01:55 PM) Conor should be hitting second. I don't care if he's left-handed. When you have a guy with a .370 OBP batting 6th and the rest of your lineup sucks, you're doing it wrong. Gillaspie vs. LHP .215/.250/.280
  12. Gamethread score: Detroit 117 Sox 3 (only because Abreu has batted a few times) Actual score: 4-4
  13. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 01:41 PM) If Danks, Beckham, Viciedo and Dunn are all still here after today I'm going to do a big cry There is no urgency in trading White Sox players. They will have a pretty easy time getting them through waivers, and if someone claims them, they will probably Alex Rios their ass.
  14. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 01:41 PM) If Danks, Beckham, Viciedo and Dunn are all still here after today I'm going to do a big cry There is no urgency in trading White Sox players. 15. It could be worse, the Sox could have Smyly. He's getting pummeled by a line up with Leury Garcia, Beckham, Flowers, Sierra and a mascot.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 12:44 PM) Ausmus must the worst manager in the history of MLB. Obviously he did nothing in spring training. BTW, has anyone else noticed it isn't just the White Sox who have problems with rundowns. It's just about every team.
  17. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 12:00 PM) Viciedo's also 25, while Craig is 30. Overall, they should really have similar value. Plus Craig is owed $27 million the next 3 + years.
  18. QUOTE (woods of ypres @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 12:17 PM) Didn't Miller used to pitch for Detroit? Yes. They traded him for a pretty good player.
  19. QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 11:26 AM) Danks has been dreadful in day games. If they were gonna trade him they probably should have already. I'm sure like with Peavy, Hahn has kept Danks up on the latest news. If there was anything close, it could mess with his head today. That's another reason to keep him off the mound, and another reason I think he will be a White Sox for at least several more days.
  20. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 12:06 PM) There's still life to a Danks trade. Wonder what teams the scouts rep? Yanks I'm sure. There will be life for another month.
  21. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 11:58 AM) The Sox have to scratch Danks, don't they, if they have any interest in making a deal. I think if he starts, they are more than certain no one is paying their price today.
  22. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 11:56 AM) Except Allen Craig was a .300+ hitter for two full seasons before this year. Was being the key word. Certainly his acquistion shouldn't be heralded as wow, when the price was a pretty good pitcher.
  23. Craig and Viciedo have identical OPS.
