  1. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 13, 2012 -> 02:51 PM) A lot of pitchers have arm injuries. The good thing recovery is more likely now than it was even 10 years ago. But its not guaranteed. Its one reason I don't understand the pitch until something blows theory.
  2. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 13, 2012 -> 02:45 PM) hahaha the phrase 'all the time' is hyperbole. go look it up. You actually wrote it almost always happens. Then contradict yourself again.
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 13, 2012 -> 02:41 PM) Sox remain offensively challenged at home. They will continue to be offensively challenged until the young guys start to hit or they acquire better hitters. Today's line up was one Sunday line up Ozzie would have been proud of. Duffy leaving was a help.
  4. The highlight today is Humber showing he can still get guys out. I was beginning to wonder.
  5. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 13, 2012 -> 02:31 PM) 1) i didn't have to, I recently read an article, like i mentioned 2) does googling something make it less true? You did google it. Does anyone with the inverted w, avoid surgery?
  6. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 13, 2012 -> 02:27 PM) Strasburg, Marcum, Zimmermann, Pineda, Prior, Smoltz, Wainwright, CJ Wilson That enough? Funny how you Google inverted W, those are the guys that pop up. You're the google king.
  7. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 13, 2012 -> 02:23 PM) he has an inverted W motion. it almost always happens. Do you have some examples of pitchers with the inverted W motion who blew out their elbow?
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 13, 2012 -> 02:22 PM) hmph, i'm noticing pink arm bands, but did MLB stop doing the "We'll auction off game used pink bats" for mothers day this year? I'm not seeing anyone using a pink bat and flipping channels to check. Dunn and Rios have them.
  9. If we say Escobar sucks enough, he will produce.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 13, 2012 -> 02:18 PM) 1.) Yeah I can't wait until somebody brings up Juan, Wise, Dye or Pods or Oz. 2.) Is Mr. Wise's picture still on the outfield wall or did the Sox have to take it down since they ridiculously let Buehrle walk? I hope Escobar contributes something to have his face planted on teh wall someday. I think there was just words that said "The catch". I don't think they made the cut in 2012.
  11. I love the giant numbers on the back of these uniforms.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 13, 2012 -> 02:12 PM) And Escobar's produced just about as much as Wise, you just don't like him because it's only great to overplay a backup player if it's Ozzie Guillen. Escobar's produced just about as much as me.
  13. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 13, 2012 -> 02:09 PM) so first it was tender and sore, now there was pain? if there was pain the sox would have done an MRI immediately. Sore and pain are about the same to me. The Sox examined him. The found it to be a muscular problem. PTACT, who is a trainer of some sort, (although he might not play fantasy baseball so he might not really know what he's talking about) said an MRI wouldn't show anything more than the exam the Sox gave him. It didn't. He wanted the MRI.
  14. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 13, 2012 -> 02:03 PM) who was scared? Chris Sale? i highly doubt it. According to Steve Stone, he was very concerned about the pain in his elbow and HE was the one who wanted an MRI. The Sox were fine without one.
  15. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 13, 2012 -> 01:56 PM) the bold is just... well... wrong. and here's the one cute little thing you're intentionally forgetting. The sox found nothing wrong with Sale's elbow. He was sore and was scared. What happened was he got a break. It helps to be preventitive rather than wait for the catastrophy to occur.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 13, 2012 -> 01:59 PM) Dyson was safe by a mile. There aren't many arguments this season. There seems to be a lot of blown calls, but no one wigging out.
  17. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 13, 2012 -> 01:56 PM) eh, i play in an OPS, K/9, sabermetrics-y league so maybe my perception is skewed. If that's what you play how did you post you loved Pods in 2005? He was Juan Pierre. Pods was far better for the Sox in 2009.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 13, 2012 -> 01:54 PM) It's not easy to like Escobar. Beware of guys who aren't very highly thought of who make the team as a spring training phenom. Reality hits them in the face pretty quickly usually.
  19. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 13, 2012 -> 01:50 PM) Dick Allen, you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. No idea about the business of baseball. No idea about how the game is played in 2012. No idea about position scarcity. No idea about how to properly value players. Go read some books on sabermetrics and go play some fantasy baseball. Then come back and post as a baseball fan who actually understands the game, and not just cute marketing slogans. I played fantasy baseball. There's a reason its called fantasy baseball. If understanding the game is a prerequisite for posting on this site, you wouldn't be allowed to post here. One thing is for sure, if the Royals do find something is wrong, if they think lightening his workload will help.................they.have.no.idea.what.they.are.doing.
  20. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 13, 2012 -> 01:42 PM) can i please, please make a personal insult? Maybe if they find out is elbow is screwed up they can trade him before the news leaks out.
  21. The Royals are really killing Duffy's value taking him out of the game just because he has an elbow issue.
  22. Looks like Humber might have to be near perfect: Lillibridge, cf Beckham, 2b Dunn, 1b Konerko, DH Rios, rf Viciedo, lf Flowers, c Morel, 3b Escobar, ss Humber, p
  23. First Oney questions why people get upset about words, then Ozzie says people need to grow up. I hope they were looking in mirrors when they made these remarks. http://blogs.miaminewtimes.com/riptide/201...cklash_ah_y.php
