  1. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 15, 2012 -> 05:00 PM) Your reply was "Captain Obvious". If he continues to hit he'll be on the team when he's 32. The only Captain Obvious is Marty34 saying another White Sox player will not be good.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 15, 2012 -> 04:56 PM) Who cares about defense from your second baseman? The pitching staff.
  3. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 15, 2012 -> 04:58 PM) It was in reply to Dick Allen's silly statement. Which was in reply to your silly statement. There are some really miserable people on this board. Nothing pisses them off more than White Sox baseball so they never miss a game.
  4. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 15, 2012 -> 04:55 PM) And if he doesn't continue to hit? Just like everyone else who isn't guaranteed a ton of money, if you don't perform, you wind up doing something else. I know, KW acquired him so he has to suck. Everyone sucks. Why even play the games.
  5. Get a paramedic in the booth for Hawk in case the Sox tie it up or win.
  6. When Dotel gets done playing and as to do zero conditioning, he's going to have the best belly in the world.
  7. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 15, 2012 -> 04:43 PM) De Aza is 28 I don't know that he'll be on the roster by the time Rios contract is up, much less be the CF'er. Considering he's going to be fairly cheap for a while, if he continues to hit, he'll probably be on the roster.
  8. Dotel has been known to give you a couple of runs. You'll either score or strikeout.
  9. th o QUOTE (fathom @ May 15, 2012 -> 04:42 PM) Just in time for him to mess up the Cubs again One of my greatest regular season moments ever was AJ homering in the 9th off Dempster. I was with 4 Cubs fans. One was so pissed it was hyserical. She couldn't stop swearing, and who better to piss her off than AJ.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 15, 2012 -> 04:34 PM) Beckham is no better than Chris Getz. That is all. And that is a fact. I'll take that bet.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 15, 2012 -> 03:30 PM) Okay, here's what I am going to do Every time you complain for the rest of the season about something, I'm going to call you out for it. Every time you bring up Greg Walker, I'm going to tell you to go watch the f------ Braves if you like them so much more. Do you want me to go back and start bringing up every thread from the past when you complained about Reinsdorf? You need help. BTW you mention the former hitting coach a lot more than me. In fact, you made a thread about it. And go find every thread I complained about JR. You can do it during games it will save you the misery because its going to take a while as I really don't complain about Reinsdorf except for one instance.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 15, 2012 -> 03:22 PM) Nope, I didn't say that. Second of all, Peavy flat out is a fly ball pitcher. The weather is warming up now. He's not going to get away with a lot of those pitches like he did the first six weeks of the season. Throwing 89-93 now, he has to have precise location and movement on all of his pitches. It would be great if Jake was a 3.50-3.75 ERA pitcher. A sub 2.00 ERA or Cy Young talk was clearly premature. That's it. If everything about the White Sox upsets you, why do you continue to subject yourself to it? First you cry not enough people are going to the game, then say Peavy is going to be bad when the warm weather hits. Well, its warm, maybe they stayed away because they knew Peavy would suck, although somehow he was able to get away with it for 5 innings.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ May 15, 2012 -> 02:59 PM) That's a much bigger crowd than I expected today. Yes, and its not like the team has been playing outstanding baseball lately.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 15, 2012 -> 02:55 PM) Dunn went entire months last season without having three liners like he's had today... 98 pitches and still only 12 outs for Scherzer. Ballester? 21,473 on one of the nicest days for baseball all season? Yeah, yeah, school's not out. Dynamic pricing has taken away day of game sales, and people do work.
  15. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 14, 2012 -> 06:37 PM) You need to watch a game now and again, Dick. I do. I may think less of KW than you do, but you let your agenda cloud your judgement. You can't have a total success story on the White Sox. You can't blast De Aza's offense, so you have to blast his defense, and all the advanced saber stats have him above average at the moment. I know there is a sample size issue, but De Aza after really struggling, has played a decent CF the past few weeks. Tank is very shaky as could be expected in LF.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 14, 2012 -> 04:15 PM) Obligatory "The White Sox rarely if ever take on most of someone's remaining money in exchange for a better prospect" reply. The one time they did it, they traded Ray Durham, picked up all his money remaining except the minimum and got back Jon Adkins. Brutal.
  17. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 14, 2012 -> 05:37 PM) Vicido has been fine defensively in LF. The problem is De Aza is not a CF'er. The only Sox CF'er who I can remember playing as deep as De Aza was Griffey, Jr. and he was 39 at the time. Its laughable you think Viciedo is fine defensively and De Aza is not.
  18. If Dunn gets hurt playing LF, there will be calls for Ventura's head.
