Kevin Youkilis for Matt Thornton?
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 16, 2012 -> 10:05 AM) Phil is still touting the possible trade between the Sox teams. Now he has added Crain as a possible compensation for Youklis plus the Bosox have to pick up lots of Youk's salary. I still question why we would want to do that? I don't understand Rogers' logic. If he believes the thinking on this is straight, I don't know how he blasts KW for Peavy, Dunn, Rios, Manny, etc. like he does over and over again and rightfully so, at least in a couple cases.

2012 White Sox Catch-All thread
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 16, 2012 -> 09:49 AM) Megabust Gordon Beckham 2011 OPS .633 Megabust Gordon Beckham 2012 OPS .576 Juan Pierre 2012 OPS .740. As much as people want to say Rios has turned the corner, he really hasn't.

Will Ohman
In 2009 with the Dodgers and Joe Torre, he has the exact same breakdown as this season, 54 batters faced 32 LH,and his results are the same. So apparently Ohman has been misused his entire career. I do suppose you can make an argument that if you put him in a game, he's being misused. But the fact is no other manager in his career has him facing a larger percentage of LH hitters than Ventura.
-
Will Ohman
Another Will Ohman fact. 59% of the batters he's faced this season have been LH. Last year it was 49 %. His best year, 2008 with the genius Bobby Cox, 46%. So Ventura has him face a smaller percentage of RH hitters than any manager.
-
Will Ohman
Ohman has faced more RH hitters than LH hitters during his career. The one problem with LOOGYS is when they are in with the game on the line, they are either going to face a real good LH hitter or the opposing manager will pinch hit so he's going to have to get out a RH hitter. If there was a line up stacked with LH hitters and Ohman came in when the game was pretty much out of reach, he'd look like an All Star.

Kevin Youkilis for Matt Thornton?
QUOTE (mcgrad70 @ May 15, 2012 -> 06:12 PM) The only GM crazy enough to trade Youk for Thornton is Kenny Williams. So, that won't be happening.... The more I researched Youkilis, the worse he looked. He's probably an upgrade offensively over Morel, at least until September, but not much of one.

Dunn will play LF during interleague
QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 15, 2012 -> 05:00 PM) Your reply was "Captain Obvious". If he continues to hit he'll be on the team when he's 32. The only Captain Obvious is Marty34 saying another White Sox player will not be good.

Dunn will play LF during interleague
QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 15, 2012 -> 04:58 PM) It was in reply to Dick Allen's silly statement. Which was in reply to your silly statement. There are some really miserable people on this board. Nothing pisses them off more than White Sox baseball so they never miss a game.

Dunn will play LF during interleague
QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 15, 2012 -> 04:55 PM) And if he doesn't continue to hit? Just like everyone else who isn't guaranteed a ton of money, if you don't perform, you wind up doing something else. I know, KW acquired him so he has to suck. Everyone sucks. Why even play the games.

When Dotel gets done playing and as to do zero conditioning, he's going to have the best belly in the world.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 15, 2012 -> 04:43 PM) De Aza is 28 I don't know that he'll be on the roster by the time Rios contract is up, much less be the CF'er. Considering he's going to be fairly cheap for a while, if he continues to hit, he'll probably be on the roster.

5/15 Tigers vs. White Sox
Dotel has been known to give you a couple of runs. You'll either score or strikeout.

th o QUOTE (fathom @ May 15, 2012 -> 04:42 PM) Just in time for him to mess up the Cubs again One of my greatest regular season moments ever was AJ homering in the 9th off Dempster. I was with 4 Cubs fans. One was so pissed it was hyserical. She couldn't stop swearing, and who better to piss her off than AJ.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 15, 2012 -> 03:30 PM) Okay, here's what I am going to do Every time you complain for the rest of the season about something, I'm going to call you out for it. Every time you bring up Greg Walker, I'm going to tell you to go watch the f------ Braves if you like them so much more. Do you want me to go back and start bringing up every thread from the past when you complained about Reinsdorf? You need help. BTW you mention the former hitting coach a lot more than me. In fact, you made a thread about it. And go find every thread I complained about JR. You can do it during games it will save you the misery because its going to take a while as I really don't complain about Reinsdorf except for one instance.

5/15 Tigers vs. White Sox
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 15, 2012 -> 03:22 PM) Nope, I didn't say that. Second of all, Peavy flat out is a fly ball pitcher. The weather is warming up now. He's not going to get away with a lot of those pitches like he did the first six weeks of the season. Throwing 89-93 now, he has to have precise location and movement on all of his pitches. It would be great if Jake was a 3.50-3.75 ERA pitcher. A sub 2.00 ERA or Cy Young talk was clearly premature. That's it. If everything about the White Sox upsets you, why do you continue to subject yourself to it? First you cry not enough people are going to the game, then say Peavy is going to be bad when the warm weather hits. Well, its warm, maybe they stayed away because they knew Peavy would suck, although somehow he was able to get away with it for 5 innings.
