2011-2012 NBA Season Thread
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 05:53 PM) he was playing with a 15+ point lead. It was 12 down from 20 and he had played 5 games the last 6 weeks. He needed the work. It was a fluke. He did something he does at least 20 times every game. If he sat out the last couple minutes today, there's nothing to suggest it wouldn't have happened at practice tomorrow.

QUOTE (RME JICO @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 05:51 PM) 1:10 left in the game when this happened? Yeah, it was my first time at the UC this season. I would guess about half the crowd was gone

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 05:44 PM) If he could do that all the time, he'd be a starter and making a lot more money than he does. If he could do it 4 of 7 games, the Bulls would have a chance. At least the Bulls know how to play without Rose.

QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 05:40 PM) Nah this team has too much heart. Best case scenario they'll make it back to the ECF to get beat by the Heat again. If Watson plays all the time like he played in the first half today, the Bulls could still beat Miami, but its obviously unlikely. Hopefully the rehab goes smoothly and DRose is back to being DRose in a minimal amount of time.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 05:27 PM) I heard pop and got some hope...I've strained an ACL before and got back in a few weeks with 100th of Rose's conditioning and med staff. But if it's a tear...f***. If it is torn, at least he's very young and not very big, so if anyone should be successful rehabbing, it should be DRose, obviously depending on the severity.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 05:25 PM) Popped? Damn. If true, he's out. No way he's coming back. I think he's done this season. Hopefully the rehab is minimal to get ready for next season. I hope this injury thing is something he can get behind him.

2011-2012 NBA Season Thread
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 05:06 PM) This could end up being the darkest day in Bulls history (even worse than Michael's first retirement, which felt like a death). This season would obviously be over. More than likely next season as well. The Bulls will never, ever land another superstar through trade or FA, obviously. Yikes. Knee surgery isn't as bad as it used to be. DRose will return and be fine most likely. Look at all the NFL running backs that had ACL and MCL surgeries. It used to be a death sentence, not necessarily these days.

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 04:48 PM) Such a long wait for a real report feels like "how do we spin this so it doesn't sound as bad" Most people just don't go in for an MRI and have the results in 15 minutes. Its going to be a while before anything official comes out. The Bulls players seem to think he's done for the playoffs. I just hope its nothing that will permanently slow him down at all. This year he was an accident waiting to happen and it happened.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 04:29 PM) NBC Miami now retracting it. Maybe it will be like Buerhle in spring of 2005. They said he broke his foot and would be out 6 weeks. I can't see Rose playing Tuesday the way he was leaving the floor but hopefully its not too bad. Most of the Bulls players seem to think its pretty bad.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 04:25 PM) Magic Johnson even defended Thibs. They wanted to send a message to Philadelphia. That, they did. I can understand taking out your starters in football, but the situation in which Rose was injured occurs 20 times a game, if not more. Anyone giving Thibs crap about it is someone who really has a hard time being happy about anything.

2011-2012 NBA Season Thread
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 04:20 PM) I guess they got it from the NBC station in Miami. Figures. I think the Bulls can still do OK with Watson, he was better than Rose in the first half today. I think they could still make the finals but not win if Rose is done, which from how he left the court, seems almost assured.

2011-2012 NBA Season Thread
QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 03:21 PM) Well among other things he had to know people were going to be attacking him for leaving starters in especially Rose after the injuries during meaningless minutes. Maybe now he will stop doing it after 2 years of people complaining. That's ridiculous. It was a 9 point game which is nothing in the NBA. Besides, taking him out there and thinking that will make him OK for the rest of the playoffs is beyond laughable, and Rose hasn't been playing much lately. Getting him some extra minutes could be good for his wind. I think he's probably done this year, just because he can put weight on it doesn't mean its totally screwed up, but I don't blame Thibs one bit. It was going to happen sometime soon.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 04:11 PM) Torn ACL and MCL for Rose I don't know if it is true or not, but I went to the game and took the UC Express back and people were saying that on the bus 5 minutes after the game, so I thought it was probably more rumor than fact at that point.

Viciedo Not Worth The Wait
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 08:39 AM) Adam Dunn. That disaster cost $56 million. Lots of things are "simple" if you are willing to spend a ton of money on it. Once again, another of your claims proves false.

Viciedo Not Worth The Wait
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 08:17 AM) B, can I get some evaluations of the guy like SINCE HE TURNED PRO. Also, please no more from his agent, that's just silly. You still haven't answered the question.....You said its simple to find sluggling LFs. Name some that would be simple to obtain.

Moose Skowron dies
I was afraid of this. He was a nice and funny man. RIP.

Viciedo Not Worth The Wait
When Frank Thomas first came up, he pretty much did most his damage the other way. People get excited about young guys with power. There were some on here that thought Josh Fields had 50 HR potential. That was for a season, not a career.

Viciedo Not Worth The Wait
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 08:12 AM) So what's the next thread? Dick Allen brought it up in the game thread last night. Alexei Ramirez should be traded because he's PROBABLY older than his official age and by the time we're actually competitive, he will be well past his prime and trending downwards in all aspect of the game...and that maybe his April offensive woes aren't the typical "he'll warm up eventually in the summer months as usual" but the first signs of real decline. First off I just mentioned his average had been crashing and someone mentioned his April norm. I would bet a lot of money he is older than listed and someday his bad April is going to continue into May and June, ..... I never mentioned a trade. Obviously guys are going to slump. Look at Pujols.

Their Sawks at our Sox - 4.26.2012
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 09:37 PM) It's April. His career OPS in April is under .600. Mid-May is the time to start getting worried. Yes, but someday it will be not because its April, but because he's lost it.

QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 09:35 PM) 17 hits now for Dunn. 49 more to reach last years total. Its hard to believe how pathetic he was last year.

Infield hit. Adam might have his streak snapped tonight.

Dunn looks like he's lost a few pounds since the season started. Maybe he cut down his beer consumption.

Their Sawks at our Sox - 4.26.2012
Alexei's average is crashing. The one thing you have to worry about with him is there's a pretty good chance he's a bit older than reported.

QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 09:24 PM) Ohman having a couple of good days. An inning of scoreless relief yesterday, and now a couple tonight. Way to go loogie. All that means is bad is coming.
