QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 09:30 PM) If the Sox were a basketball team, they'd struggle with FT shooting and inbound plays. And would probably set a record for shot clock violations. -

All the runners that have scored for the Twins tonight, reached via walk with nobody out. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 09:26 PM) Educate me please. Would all teams in baseball let the guy steal third uncontested? Or just the Sox? Sox pitchers with a couple of exceptions, have a difficult time remembering when runners are on base. -

QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 09:25 PM) Well Ozzie went out there and simply asked Matt what he wanted to do. Why bother? Any competitor will want to take a guy on. I like that Ozzie doesnt overmanage, but...at least manage... Al Leiter was on MLB network talking about how he hated when managers came out to ask him how he felt. He said there was no way he would ever tell them he was anything but fine or he needed to put a guy on. He said he thought the manager needed to make up his mind before he came to the mound. -

That's a bad call by Ozzie. Mourneau might hit one 600 feet right here, but Mauer is hitting almost .400. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 09:19 PM) Probably still are. Too bad they date douche bags. Some guys at work were telling me about a hot chicks who date douchebags website. The guys shave their chests and get the spray paint tan. -

If Richard gets moved to the bullpen, he could never be used in a situation like this. A bunt to him would be disasterous as he cannot throw the ball to first base. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 09:10 PM) The Twins have like 17 broadcasters that work their games. Ron Coomer and Roy Smalley add completely useless bits of information from time to time, some retard asks fans lame questions in the stands, and Dick Bremer and Bert Blyleven add decent commentary. Seems like the teams still on the FSN Network like to do this. It is positively obnoxious and pointless. Instead of watching the game, I have to listen to Ron Coomer make uneducated guesses at what our hitters are doing and why they do it. I saw Coomer at a Sox/Cubs game at USCF a couple of years ago, cheering wildly for the Cubs. -

QUOTE (beckham15 @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 08:53 PM) dangit 0-3 and he was robbed 2 times today gotta give him some credit for that i guess Its not that bothersome if Wise plays once or twice a week and bats ninth. I don't think many have a problem with that. Its when they put him in a position where producing is expected is where the problem with DWise lies. -

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 08:44 PM) I like to play a little game called "just the tip". i go into a restaurant, order a big meal, throw a few bucks on the table and run out. That sounds like a fun game. I'm going out for brunch tomorrow, maybe I'll give it a try. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 08:37 PM) He just isn't producing it seems, as his RBIs have been few and far between. His bat speed seems brutal, as he's chopping a lot of pitches into the ground. The NL park games came at the worst time possible for him as he was hitting well before he sat down. He's struggled since. I still think they should play with the visiting team league's rules for one game of every interleague series. If fans supposedly want to see players they rarely see, maybe they would like to see the DH once in a while or watch their pitcher bat. -

QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 08:11 PM) 1. 8th Inning Nightmare / 10.14.2003 Five outs from the World Series, the Cubs suffer nightmare 8th inning of Game 6 of the NLCS as fan Steve Bartman interferes with Moises Alou's attempt to catch a foul ball, followed by Alex Gonzalez muffing an inning-ending double-play ball; Marlins win the game and later the series. 2. Hester, You Are Ridiculous / 02.4.2007 Following a regular season in which he returned six kicks/punts for touchdowns, Bears rookie Devin Hester returns the opening kickoff of Super Bowl XLI for a touchdown, the first time in Super Bowl history that feat is accomplished. 3. Series Champs / 10.26.2005 In the only run of the game, Jermaine Dye hits a game-winning RBI single and after an 88-year drought the White Sox become World Series Champions, sweeping the Astros in four games. 4. Say It Ain't So(sa) / 06.3.2003 Sammy Sosa is caught with a corked bat and ejected from the game; claims he mistakenly used a batting practice bat. 5. Cross-town Quarrel / 05.20.2006 Cubs catcher Michael Barrett ignites a bench-clearing brawl by sucker punching the White Sox's A.J. Pierzynski after a collision at the plate. 6. Desert Miracle / 10.16.2006 Trailing 20-0 at halftime of Monday Night Football vs. the Cardinals, the Bears' defense stages an incredible fourth quarter comeback; Mike Brown and Charles Tilllman both return fumbles for touchdowns and Devin Hester returns a punt 83 yards for a touchdown and the Bears win 24-23. 7. One for Sweetness / 11.7.1999 In their first Bears game since the shocking passing of NFL legend Walter Payton, the Bears defeat their storied rival Packers 14-13 (the team's first win over the Packers since 1993) on a blocked field goal by DT Bryan Robinson. 8. One for the Ages / 04.30.2009 Bulls force a game seven in its first round playoff series with defending NBA Champion Celtics with a triple-overtime, 128-127 thriller that features Joakim Noah's steal, full-court drive, dunk and three-point play that fouls out Paul Pierce with 35 seconds left. 9. Big Z, Big No-No / 09.14.2008 Carlos Zambrano throws the first no-hitter by a Cubs pitcher in 36 years, against the Astros, at neutral Miller Park in Milwaukee. 10. Don't Stop Believin' / 10.23.2005 Scott Podsednik, who had not hit a home run during the regular season, blasts a solo homer to center field in the bottom of the ninth off closer Brad Lidge to lift the Chicago White Sox to a 7-6 win and put the team up two games to one in the World Series. Paulie's GS in the WS, the most noise and loudest I have ever heard a stadium, inside or out and I've been at the Chicago Stadium was shaking. What about Buerhle's no hitter. It was at least done in Chicago? -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 08:10 PM) #1 was Bartman #2 was Hester's Super Bowl kickoff return #3 was Sox winning World Series. I know Zambrano's no-hitter was higher than Pods walkoff in the WS. Buehrle's no-hitter didn't make it. I'm surprised Ditka and Ozzy Osbourne singing "Take Me out to the Ballgame" didn't rank higher than a World Series. -

QUOTE (daa84 @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 08:03 PM) then they could DH mauer....and split time at C with Montero to save his knees....my point was that there will be room for mauer if the yankees want to pony the money up....theres always room for a bat like that He can catch. Nobody's better than him. Its one player I think JR may consider bidding with the Yankees if he ever became available.
