THE Chicago White Sox vs Texas Rangers
When are they going to teach White Sox players to run through the bag. Of course there was a99.99% chance he would be out, but even Paulie is pulling up early.

QUOTE (whitesoxmanager @ May 3, 2009 -> 07:15 PM) how would you like to be danks knowing that ozzie has his back. I'm pretty sure Danks looked at the line-up an knew he had to be very sharp even against a pitcher with an ERA over 7.00. Its scary when Corky Miller is batting 6th.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2009 -> 07:11 PM) Terrible, we don't deserve to win this game. Harrison pitched Quentin brilliantly in that AB. The Sox didn't deserve to win when Ozzie filled out the line-up card.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 3, 2009 -> 07:07 PM) The radio is a half second behind the TV broadcast. The regular broadcast on RCN is a couple seconds ahead of the HD. I of course watch HD, but sometimes trick my wife when she checks it out in the other room with the other broadcast, being Carnac.

QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ May 3, 2009 -> 07:05 PM) Josh Fields proves hes good! I'm one of Fields' biggest critics, but the umpire screwed him there.

How was the second pitch a ball but the 3rd a strike.

Phillips makes a big deal out of the Rangers not being able to sign free agent pitchers because of their park. (Chan Ho Park) Morgan correctly corrects him and says every team needs to develop their own pitching, due to the cost in money and years. Then Phillips backtracks and talks about all their bad trades giving up pitching. He is an absolute moron.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 3, 2009 -> 06:49 PM) Nah, he retired and Ozzie sent him to scout school. How's KW's kid doing? I wonder if he spent all of the $150k they gave him.

QUOTE (lostfan @ May 3, 2009 -> 06:48 PM) They said that again? Also, that was one hell of a throw by Quentin, a split second sooner and he might have actually nailed the runner. It was Steve Phillips. I wonder if he still wonders why he's an ex-GM.

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ May 3, 2009 -> 06:45 PM) Shocker right there can't get a hit with a RISP... Its Corky f***ing Miller. He pretty much has his hit quota through June right now.

Getz is hitting .347 leading off. Why does ESPN say the White Sox leadoff hitters are struggling?
-
THE Chicago White Sox vs Texas Rangers
I really wonder when the last time Corky Miller started a game as high as 6th in the line-up.
-
THE Chicago White Sox vs Texas Rangers
Betemit now hitting .320. I'm glad he rarely plays against RHP, the pitching he has historically raked.

THE Chicago White Sox vs Texas Rangers
I'm glad Joe Morgan got the fact that he made the big leagues at the age of 19 out of the way. He's quickly running out of material for the final 3 innings.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2009 -> 06:36 PM) Fields needs to learn how to put the glove right on the bag. It's funny, but AJP on the radio on Wednesday was saying that he's had complaints this year about how our infielders put the tag down on a steal attempt. They are probably in shock that they actually have a shot at nailing the runner.

There literally were no CF's available this past offseason better than Jerry Owens.

THE Chicago White Sox vs Texas Rangers
QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2009 -> 06:31 PM) I think he tweaked his knee again a week ago. He's been hobbling down the line all week. It would also explain why he seems incapable of driving the ball. All season and spring training there does seem to be a hitch in his giddyup when he jogging. He seemed alright when he's really running, but if he's hurt, he's useless.

THE Chicago White Sox vs Texas Rangers
Did Fields blow a tire there? He was doubled up by a mile and they play seemed pretty slow in developing.

THE Chicago White Sox vs Texas Rangers
In his last 173 AB which includes Sept. of last season, Anorexei is hitting .202.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 3, 2009 -> 05:49 PM) Not fan of this s***ty line up, but here is Ozzie reason... Harrison versus righties .406, versus lefties .217. Getz vs. lefties .500

THE Chicago White Sox vs Texas Rangers
Obviously Lillibridge is in CF, its not the Lillibridge/Getz platoon Ozzie had in mind. But when BA comes back and JD can play maybe Ozzie should look at these numbers vs. LHP and perhaps he will get over his Brent Lillibridge mancrush: Gets is 4-8 with a double and a triple Lillibridge is 1-12 against LHP this year and 6-35 last season. That's 7-47.

QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ May 3, 2009 -> 01:43 PM) Lineup Nix 2B Fields 3B Quentin LF Konerko DH Betemit 1B Miller C Podsednik RF Ramirez SS Lillibridge CF Danks P This could be one of the weakest line-ups an American League team has posted in non-garbage time in many years. Suddenly, Juan Uribe as a leadoff hitter isn't so laughable.

Sweet, Pods is in RF, and Corky Miller is hitting 6th for the first time since Little League: Nix 2B Fields 3B Quentin LF Konerko DH Betemit 1B Miller C Podsednik RF Ramirez SS Lillibridge CF I hope Danks has his best stuff tonight.
