  1. f*** Pods, Dye's like Rickey Henderson.
  2. Dye gets a good jump when he wants to steal.
  3. QUOTE(brijames @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 10:12 PM) Yea and maybe I have a 12" ****. Isn't that about average?
  4. Maybe Blum can go deep here.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 10:00 PM) Pull him. I don't understand why you have to give up runs and get into a lot of trouble for Ozzie to yank you. He's exactly the opposite with relief pitchers.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 09:59 PM) Man, why would you throw the inside fastball on an 0-2 pitch? All of his pitches have been tailing inside this inning? Now, we face a guy who's swinging out of his ass every AB. I'd go to Cotts here.
  7. 4-0 and Sexson hitting 3-0 against a guy with a history of hanging himself? I don't know
  8. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 09:49 PM) Well, as much as I don't like Carl's approach, I gotta love when that happens. But he hits balls to the upper deck in BP
  9. That was the fastest and hardest I've seen Iguchi run to first this season.
  10. The Count is not afraid to throw a strike tonight.
  11. Wasn't Hawk talking how Ozzie was more concerned about "the big picture" rather than that particular game, yesterday? Because now he's saying they only worry about today.
  12. QUOTE(3E8 @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 09:27 PM) I notice something very different about Jose's approach on the mound tonight. His confidence is growing. If he ever gets to the point where he really believes he should win every start, you are looking at an All Star, and Cy Young candidate. One problem is, if they string a couple hits, his approach may change.
  13. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 09:20 PM) Where was it said that the Sox and Griffey talked? Just b/c he 'said thanks, but no thanks', that can just mean that he said it to Reds ownership. And Griffey's agent is an agent, why does he have any reason to disclose info? I have no idea if it's true, but the story seems plausible. If it got to the point where Griffey was asked to accept a trade, his agent certainly would know about it. He also said Griffey told the Sox he was flattered, that would require communication, someone other than Bruce Levine certainly would know and would have reported this development. No one has. I'm sorry, but Levine himself staked his reputation to the Sox signing Omar Vizquel. You can think its plausible and it may be, but I'm not buying it. I think he jumped the gun and realized it, so he tried to squirm his way back.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 09:16 PM) I agree. The thing with him is that you can never get comfortable that he has it in cruise control. He just needs to keep getting the first batter of the inning out, and avoid the stretch. The deer in headlights look can return at any time. And I agree, he seems so much better out of a wind up rather than the stretch, but next time it happens watch, if there's a man on 3rd with 2 out he's pitching from the stretch. I'm sure its to keep him closer on a WP, but I don't think its worth giving up the effectiveness of his wind-up.
  15. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 09:14 PM) Pitch count? 49
  16. When Contreras doesn't have that deer in headlights look on his face, he is dominating.
  17. How is it the White Sox were allowed to talk to Griffey? Wouldn't that be tampering? Levine is full of s***, Griffey's agent was on Fox and said he knew of nothing going on.
  18. Pods now has an rbi double and threw someone out at thirdbase.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 07:18 PM) I bet Timo would have at least one hit if he was playing in the minors. They are playing the Mets affiliate, featuring Brian Daubach. For everyone clamouring for Ross Gload, Daubach has eerily similar stats, and we know he sucks.
  20. Pods is 0-3 with a k at Charlotte tonight.
  21. Indians lose
  22. Why do I think that its very possible Levine mentions these things so he can see all the action it brings on message boards? I have a feeling that if his reports were ignored on the boards, he wouldn't mention half the falsehoods he does.
