  1. The Sox aren't responsible for the other teams in their division, and if they are so awful, the playoffs will be a lay up.
  2. They have made the playoffs the last 2 seasons . Is the window closed?
  3. How come everyone failed except the Braves with Eddie Rosario? How come no Soxtalk expert said the Sox should pick him up?
  4. Acvording to this board,, payoffs are all random except if it's the White Sox. That's why 4 WAR in 93 games catchers actually suck. It's why the Sox RF issue was easily solved by getting an injured Eddie Rosario if the front office had any brain. In the end, the playoffs are so random anyone can win. The 2005 White Sox were 11-1, but if a ball doesn't go through Tony Grafininos legs and ElDuque pitches like he did the rest of the season, they probably lose in the ALDS. Try to shore up the deficiencies, but every team has them. Just hope the team is hot and things break your way in the playoffs. It didn't happen this year. But they should be a playoff team for at least a couple more years.
  5. So the Sox went through a total rebuild to have a 1 year window. It was 2021 or bust. The team will be better in 2022 than it was in 2021, breaking several Soxtalk posters hearts.
  6. He made one of the most miraculous comebacks ever, not just to play, but to play in the major leagues. And he held his own, enough where I can't imagine most teams wouldn't think he didn't have a productive future. Your post is vile. It shows you aren't a White Dox fan, just someone who wants to complain about something. It also shows what an incredibly small person you are.
  7. Sheets was really good, but I would caution on relying on him. Didn't Nicky Delmonico do about the same thing when he was called up? Although ir does seem Sheets hits the ball a lot harder.
  8. When I look back at last offseason it's amazing how just about everything didn't matter If the Sox kept Renteria or signed Hinch instead of Tony, they win the division and lose in the ALDS. If they sign any RF other than Springet, same thing. If Rodon went somewhere else, as great as he was, same thing. If they don't trade for Lynn, same thing. Although if they didn't do that he probably wouldn't be available for a 2 year offer. It probably would have made things closer and maybe Cleveland doesn't make Cesar available to the Sox and they have to settle for Escobar.
  9. Is that really true? JR denied the Blue Jay's a chance to interview KW to be their president. He is a Senior VP with the White Sox.
  10. Matrix Maldonado had 7, Christian Vazquez had 10. Reading this board you would think Grandal has 3 or 4 a game.
  11. The Sox were barely .500 with anyone else but Grandal behind the plate, and won 93 games this year. How’s that for an eye test? Grandal is not a problem.
  12. So now you are saying the advanced metrics are wrong and the eye test is correct? People make him out to be Yermin Mercedes behind the plate, yet his advanced metrics say he is way better than that. This was the first season since 2013 he didnt throw out baserunners at an above average rate. Plus he was injured for probably the whole year. I am glad the Sox have him. He is the best Sox catcher since Carlton Fisk, and Fisk was only better than the beat up 2021 Grandal a couple of seasons, if that. If Yas is a problem, the White Sox have nothing to worry about.
  13. Yeah, but Nagy you don't expect anything. With Hahn, you actually think he is giving you a ton until he is done. Then you realize, that was nothing. He is very good.
  14. I was on a team that had a 1st base coach who was able to see the signs, but he got it wrong twice with me, so I told him I didn't want them anymore. I watched a show yesterday where Ozzie Guillen Jr. was saying in the 2005 WS the White Sox had a scouting report that showed how several Astros pitchers tipped their pitches. When Chad Qualls came in for Paulie in game 2, Paulie went over to talk to Greg Walker and told him he has his pitches. Paulie knew what was coming and put in on the board.
  15. First off, it's $16 million. Secondly, they have a closer. Thirdly, unlike the Cubs, they can re-direct that money elsewhere. The Cubs were dumping salary. Hopefully, the White Sox are not. I am not a Kimbrel hater. I liked that they acquired him. I didn't like what they paid, and I always was convinced they weren't going to keep him around for 2022. I assumed he would be decent enough to get something. But now, if I am a team looking for a closer, I am not giving up a decent package and paying the freight. I will wait until April or May and see how he's doing, and see how desperate KW and RH are about their over $30 million 8th and 9th innings. I can only remember a couple of easy innings he had in a White Sox uniform.
  16. I think there is a better chance of TA catching than Hahn leaving. Why would he leave just as the rebuild is over? Maybe he doesn't have enough power, but he never did, and never left. And really who is going to hire him and give him total control? It wouldn't be based on winning. KW leaving could be a different story. His wife quit the local news. Maybe they want to retire and enjoy life. But I don't know why he would walk away when he must feel the team is on the cusp.
  17. A coach leaving is a big deal? If the hitting coaches left, so what? And if they want to blame Daryl Boston for Eloy not being an elite defender, fine. You'll get Dave McKay. They aren't going to get rid of anyone who made much of a difference.
  18. I don't know why anyone is anxious to hear RH with a press conference. You will realize when he is done, that he told you nothing . He is the master at it. I've never heard anyone better.
  19. If D Bo is sent packing, LaRussa lackey Dave McKay would probably get the job as he has been a 1st base coach /OF instructor for LaRussa back in the day. He also would be awesome because he co-authored a proper weight training book with Jose Canseco.
  20. They clearly didn't as they were in the same boat as the White Sox, an ALDS loss. Idiots. Kind of makes me think of the New England Patriots. A lot of people considered them perhaps the most well run organization in professional sports. But that was pure BS. Remember when Brady hurt his knee on opening weekend many years ago? They had no HOF QB waiting in the wings like a smart team would, and wound up missing the playoffs.
  21. Generally guys who are really good players don't like signing with teams where they are going to be the 8th OF.
  22. This season did convince me that there are a lot more Sox "fans' who would rather have something to complain about than have the team win. It's in every fanbase, but I think the White Sox have a pretty high number.
  23. I remember when making payment it said 4-6 weeks for refunds.
