Can you site a couple of examples of MLB stories this guy has broken? I doubt he is lying, but he may just have someone's opinion and not a fact.

It isn't just Levine. Its Fegan and Heyman. If they say no truth to all of them instead of a no comment or I am not sure, ir is a bad move. RH doesn't always dislike leaks. They use these same guys to leak things he wants our there like bidding $125 million for Wheeler. A couple of days later to pull this when the info is already our there is being assholes. If is still interesting that no one except the guy in the DR has this and its supposed to go down in hours.

I think people are writing off the Cubs a bit prematurely. They were bad last year with 84 wins, something the Sox have only done 8 times since the strike. They still have several nice pieces. If they can get their bullpen in order, they still are a contender. Admittedly I didn't see this money crunch coming. We were all led to believe the second they signed off on their network deal , they would have the cash to do whatever they want. Now they think that will take a few years. I doubt Theo will stick around for another rebuild, so I would expect them to do what they can to win.

Maybe something like that happens once in a while in a baseball trade, although I tend to think most teams would go with their in house valuation,but this was more a financial move for the Dodgers. Maybe the awkwardness of having it out there, and Joc at the time was doing some sort of fan fest thing made them back away and not the return on the dealor maybe they were going to back away anyway. I doubt it. Just look at this thread. WSD claims and more than a couple have corroborated he gets a lot of info. I would imagine that info is coming from White Sox people. I would doubt he was the only one his source alone says something. It is 50/50 at best Jason Kinander had any idea who Joc Peterson’s agent was when he went on twitter. Personally, I think scouts are the sources of most leaks teams don’t want out there.

One thing to keep in mind is if the leak made the Dodgers walk away, it came from the White Sox. So if they want to blame the leak and for not getting a deal done, they have only themselves to blame.

I just cannot see a White Sox source doing that to Bruce. I am not a Bruce guy, but am sure his source is pretty connected to the team, and it’s not like the news wasn’t out yet. To say it is false when it is not would really be a dick move. Bruce is certainly more of a Cubs guy but he does give the Sox a lot more time on his show than most non flagship shows. That would be biting a hand that feeds you.

He and Abreu are pretty similar. Obviously different positions, Ozuna runs a bit better, Abreu hits a few more homers, but questionable defense, the offense is pretty similar overall, and their hard hit rates are very high. So the bat is a huge upgrade, the defense not, but the RF defense has been pretty bad for a long time.

You want to fight Ozunas defense go ahead. But you might want to take a look at the stats the last few years. The data does support he is below average and guys his age normallyonly get worse. I find it odd you take it so personally. You may want to block Mlb trade rumors from your computer. Here is what they say Ozuna has provided little value as an outfielder since departing Miami. He grades as below-average in Statcast’s outs above average and outfielder jump metrics—ranking in the 13th and 29th percentile, respectively

Trevor Rosenthal signs a minor league contract with KC. I thought there was a decent chance the Sox would have brought him in. He can still throw gas, if he could get some command back he would have been a nice bullpen piece.

Now you are going to put him in RF? Go look at some of the advanced stat numbers Alfonso Soriano had when he first moved to the OF. And he was horrid. i am not selling anything. I really don’t care one way or another on Marcel. At least he will be able to hit. But ideally with Eloy in LF, you are putting a lot on a rookie in CF if the RF is well below average as well.

Bruce just said he thinks the Sox will sign someone in the next 48 hours. He said he thinks the Sox don’t want to get caught up in the winter meetings goings on that tends to make teams overbid. He asked Hahn about getting caught up in that, which was pretty much not answered and he seemed to be steering Hahn into mentioning something was about to happen but Rick didn’t take the bait.It is pretty apparent Bruce’s White Sox source has told him someuis close but it obviously wasn’t Osuna. And Ryu was mentioned a few times during the call so I would guess it’s him.

He is brutal now. One thing though is the Sox hitting coach was his hitting coach his breakout season.
