He has had his moments offensively. Obviously Texas is a hitter’s paradise, and 24 year olds who were top 10 prospects usually don’t get moved unless something has really gone haywire. This guy could be what he is or maybe he breaks out. Depends on the price. Walker,Rutherford, someone like that the main piece with Fulmer of Flores If I were the GM, I would say done.

Mazara is only 14 months older than Walker.

2016 this guy was a consensus top 20 prospect.BP had him at 5. His manager was on MLBN yesterday and said it was pretty much put up or shut up time for him.will only be 25. As we saw, can hit it a mile. Worth the gamble if it is for what some have speculated. But I can also see why this would be kind of a downer for some.

Eloy would be much better if he learned where to throw the ball. Hit the cutoff man unless it’s a flyball to him with a guy on 3rd he has a legit shot at. And if he would quit holding the ball. Know where it’s supposed to go and get rid of it.

Cole to the Yankees: 9 years, $324 million.
Dick Allen replied to ChiliIrishHammock24's topic in Pale Hose Talk
According to a Washington Post guy, he has said he wants to retire by 35 "I think the one most intriguing option for me that seems to make sense is that Justin Turner has said he'll move off third [base] for LA [Dodgers] and the Dodgers are known to offer low-year, high AAV deals which is something that probably seems attractive to Rendon, who has told us many a time he'd like to retire by 35," Daugherty said. -

I think the Sox would have to blow the other offers away to get Rendon. Not to say they couldn't. If JR was really about breaking even on the team, he can afford some seasons in the red. He only wants to play 5 more years or so. He's from Texas and there are no state taxes there and the Rangers are opening up a new park, so that would probably attract him. And the Dodgers are pretty much guaranteed to be in the playoffs every year. It would take a huge leap of faith to accept a similar offer to play for the White Sox. -

If the White Sox couldn't afford Machado, per KW, they can't afford someone who will cost more. -

I wonder if the players association told Boras to get his ass in gear this year. His waiting and waiting seems to hurt the lesser players more than it ultimately hurts or helps his guys. -
SoxVan: White Sox big push might be year away
Dick Allen replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Why do it next year. Wait till 2022 and have a 2 year window. It may be short, but it could be a glorious 2 seasons. It's obvious the Sox aren't waiting, they went after Wheeler. How gullible to these writers think people are? -

What I am saying is it would have been more. The White Sox $250 million offer would have been dead months before. KW wouldn't have had to wear shades. -

Because he was a second thought to the Yankees. If it was a priority, it wouldn't have dragged on to spring training. -

And it's the big reason they got Abreu. -

Actually, I wouldn't mind Porcello on a one year contract. Certainly more interesting than Shields or Nova or even Jordan Lyles to me. -

This Cole market with Anaheim and the Yankees having to have him is why the Sox should have taken advantage of most of the big boys sitting out last season. It isn't going to happen for the White Sox when these other teams must have someone. -
It's still pretty early in San Diego.

Dick Williams Jr., Reds GM was on MLB Network yesterday. He thinks once the top guys go , the market is going to come to a screeching halt.

OK pal.

Looks like even Heyman is calling BS on his mystery team. -
I really don't know why the White Sox would want it out there, that they were the high bid for Lyles . Wheeler, OK, but Lyles?
-
Yeah, I see one or two, not a fan base.

Who is angry at him?

Do a shot every time Rick says coming weeks or coming months and you will be chewed in no time.

Supposedly Mike Shannon is expected to get it. Just put him in there. He's more than earned it. -
Hahn didn't say anything different than what he told Bruce on Saturday. There is no way they aren't going to add a few more players this offseason. It just might not happen this week. Besides, you don't ever want to sound desperate to get something done. He has a talent for speaking for a while, making people think he gave them a lot of information, and in the end, didn't tell them much. One of the best at it I have ever heard. I know it's coming and I still fall for it and think he gave out some great info, for a few minutes almost every time.

RH should do some things this year. It's not going to get cheaper next season, and the free agent crop of pitching isn't exactly bountiful. Kicking the can down the road another year would make no sense. They do have a lot of question marks. Who knows how Robert will be as a rookie. Who knows if Madrigal will look like Yolmer at the plate with fewer strikeouts his rookie year. Who knows if Moncada and TA can have close to .400 BABIP again. Who knows if Giolito is now what we hope he is. Who knows if Lopez or Cease can develop into good starters. Who knows if Kopech will be the same guy. Who knows if Rodon will finally have injuries behind him and be the ace he was projected to be. But it's time to take the leap of faith and start adding or by the time you do have a good team, your guys are all going to be getting paid, and the window will close or you will have to trade them all for prospects and start the thing all over again.
