Twins @ Sox 7/28
In this home run era, Jon Jay, who has 11 homers his last 2400 plate appearances, is batting clean up.

Eloy back, Rondón DFA
I would guess they would hope to trade Jay or someone for a lottery ticket to open up the spot. I would think TA is ready to go on Tuesday.

Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
Farmio said last night he doesn’t believe the Sox are even discussing a Coloma trade.

Super Nova vs Twinkies (7/27)
How dare you lol. Don't you know it's windy or the roof is white? Expecting a major league to catch a pop up is nuts

Super Nova vs Twinkies (7/27)
I wonder if it is OK for a fan to be mad at that one. Maybe Stone will let us know on Twitter. Probably not. 2005.

Cubs thread 2k19
I was in Marshall’s several months ago and they had kids jerseys for sale. The Sox have Abreu and Lopez, the Cubs were all Russell. I was thinking someone was going to inadvertently buy their Cubs fan kid or nephew or niece or neighbor a wife beater jersey.

Will you be mad if the Sox do not seriously try to move Abreu?
Vegan wrote that he clearly won’t be traded.

You can’t trade him just to trade someone. You have to acquire someone who will help you actually win. Not the Ryan Cordells, and Charlie Tilsons and Casey Gillespies of the world. It’s fine going after those types when trading guys that won’t be around next year is the cost. But the Sox are going to need a lot of relievers next year if they hope to not suck, and Coloma fits the bill. The price has to be high.

Is Giolito an ace?
LGINAA. All I know is that I thought he really sucked coming into this year with very little hope of being decent. He was a legit candidate to start the All Star Game. He might not be an ace, but he's pretty good.

Lambs to the slaughter? We look to our shepherd Giolito as he faces Berrios and the Twins 8:10 EST
Nike takes over the uniforms next season..Will the Sox even bother with home pinstripes and road grays?

Sox interested in Mazara?
It is amazing Lopez is now suddenly worth something when he needed to be DFA'd only a couple of weeks ago, even though I still think he has options left.

Tony Kemp expected to be DFA'd
Leury doesn't make much only $1.5 million this year, and also plays SS and 3B, and switch hits. He's a more valuable player
-
Tony Kemp expected to be DFA'd
I would take Leury over him without a doubt.
-
Tony Kemp expected to be DFA'd
Kemp only plays against RHP
-
Tony Kemp expected to be DFA'd
He may be one of many who is a better hitter than Yolmer, but not significantly.
-
Tony Kemp expected to be DFA'd
Tony Kemp has never put up a 1.0 fWAR. The grass is always greener.

Teams are interested in Nova? Trade him!
If the Sox pick up all of his money, they might get an A Baller with a 7.00 ERA averaging a walk an inning and a k every so often.

Sox interested in Mazara?
The Sox have been after Mazara for a few years.

Sox changing up their amateur scouting department according to Mark Gonzales
It probably is. Amateur scouting director is a job for a single person with no outside interests. I think Nick has a family. He at least gets to go home more often now.

GRate to get Netting to the Foul Poles
Just like the outrage when they banned smoking in bars, the net thing will blow over and most will be happy with it in a year.

2019-2020 NCAA Basketball thread
IDK, having some guy live with someone to make sure he did his work doesn't seem like too big of a deal. At least they weren't paying players or it would have been like the early 80's Iowa State football team. The worst team money could buy.

Favorite Piece of White Sox Memorabilia
I have a Maggs Ordonez hat that he threw out of the dugout right into my hands during a game he was just off. But my prize is my autographed Holy Cow Harry Caray and Jimmy Piersall signed ball that I caught when I was 12 or 13. I went to a double header with my friend, his dad, and his sister. We were sitting in LF at the old Comiskey Park, and my friend and I decided to be cool so we went to sit behind the plate. There was an aisle at the old park just beyond the boxes and as we were walking Willie Mays Aikens hit a foul ball that hit the auxilary scoreboard . I jump up on the area behind the boxes ( it was higher so people could still see the game as idiots like me walked by) leaned up against the railing and one handed it. I then snapped it down like Dave Parker used to do. I got a nice hand and some high fives. We proceded to still behind the plate, and a little while later I got a tap on the shoulder, I assumed the gig was up, but it was someone who was going to escort me to the broadcast booth to meet Harry and Jimmy. I guess Harry went on and on about my catch. So we went up there, and I talked to him for about a minute during the game and they signed my ball. I still have it, even though it's pretty faded.

Eloy going on IL
I think the problem is guys who aren't very good fielders and who aren't too sure of themselves when this happens. It doesn't happen when Engel is out there.
