3 walks in 2/3 of an inning has nothing to do with the run scoring environment. It's more difficult to walk AAA hitters than major league hitters. He can use some refining. The one thing you used to point out he was dominating was his ERA. Now there are a few more doing better than him.
I don't know how any of the degrees helps him evaluate baseball talent and build a baseball team , but an undergrad from Michigan, a law degree from Harvard, and an MBA from Northwestern does indicate he's a pretty bright guy.
He wants a one year deal or a multiple with an opt out after this season. Neither would make sense for the White Sox, but if he is willing to sign for 3 with no opt out, why not?
Too bad this board wasn't around for the griping when the Sox refused to go for value and took an uninspiring and safe pick in Frank Thomas.
Value is determined a few years from now. Not pre draft.
The problem I have with this coverage is every player is described as a future HOFer. They need a Mel Kiper Jr. to say some team doesn’t know what the draft is about to mix things up a bit.
I do know one thing, the report that KW wanted Abrams and the other White Sox people wanted someone else is total BS. That would never get out. This is a team that tried to make it physically look like they weren't interested in Abreu when they went to his showcase.
That's why I don't want them to mess around unless the guy they think is the best on the board can be had at a discount. Messing around would be losing 100 games for nothing.
