The White Sox are currently 1 game out of the second wildcard spot. While you have to figure it is still a long shot, it might be time to start playing to win.

I would stay away from him especially if it onky for the rest of this season. Chances are he is going to be a more than a little rusty, and will probably suck this season.

fangraphs basically rated Vaughn's bat about equal to Eloy's. Considering the hype Eloy has come with even while defensively challenged, I don't see why adding another bat of that calibur to the line up is anything but a positive even if he can only play 1B. Paulie could only play 1B. Big Hurt could only play 1B. If the bat is legit, pick him and don't worry about it.

I had hernia surgery when I was a kid. Obviously I wasn’t playing pro football, but the surgery back then was probably more invasive and I was good to go inn a couple of weeks. I would imagine he should be good to go for training camp.

They did start out 23-10 after Drake gate. I have a hard time blaming someone else when adults behave badly. This isn't like a regular job. The inmates make more money and aren't easily sent packing.

I hope you are right. Some guys you forget ever had the surgery. For some it seems to be a career killer.

Larry Doby was awful. When I was a little kid I was at a game in September when he protested the game because a minor league call up didn't have his name on his back. The 3k in the stands laughed. Everything in that Veeck era was determined by money. Ron Schueler was the pitching coach because he couldn't pitch anymore and was under contract.

A 4 inning game vs a 9 inning game is a lot easier on the pitching staff, and makes for a shorter day for everyone,

Probably to make it official and suspended as opposed to staring over. It at least used to be if it wasn’t official it was a do over. But it does look like they should be able to play in a while for a while

But you love Steverson and his guys have 1 run the last 29 innings, and that was by another guy you hate, Abreu.

Ricky must have begged the White Sox for Alonso. There really is no other reason he is batting 4th at this stage than the manager trying to save face.

I doubt it is much higher. Especially for a non pitcher

Everything is working for them now, but until you see it for a longer period, I still think they remind me of the 2000 White Sox. They can win, even dominating,but are probably an injury or 2 and reality setting in to being an average team which in the AL Central makes you a playoff contender if not a favorite.

I just hope Seby hits a grounder to short or something soon. I wonder what the record is for consecutive strikeouts to begin a career.

I get that and youre right, but they did lose each game by 7 runs, and have scored 1 run the last 25 innings. That is a little beyond facing a hot team, especially since they were also given many runs.

TBH I wasn’t paying much attention at that point. I would figure a no power fast guy would have a decent glove.

I had no idea Tilson was so bad defensively.

I just think he is a young guy who is inconsistent with command and confidence. The only bad game he has when he threw at least 60 strikes was vs. Boston. The question will be whether or not he figures it out.

Until McCann comes down to earth, they aren’t going to call up Collins to ride pine or DH a lot and mess with an injury to a catcher.

If the choice with Gio is be really effective but maybe the shoulder doesn't have a long shelf life, or just suck and the career doesn't have a long shelf life, he has made the correct decision. Hopefully he holds up.
