White Sox to Call Up Palka
Whatever. I would have preferred an infielder, but Leury at SS for a little while could be interesting to watch. Palka sucks, but so do all the others they would have called up. I just hope Collins gets his ABs while he is up, or calling him up was stupid.

If Collins is a building block, you either have to play him or send him back to Charlotte. Having him play infrequently does no one any good.

Fegan said that Collins was taking reps at 1B every day in Boston, and the plan seems to be to catch him once or twice a week and have him 1B/DH the rest of the time.

You post replies like this and someone else is the weirdo?

Yeah the Sox may take a PR hit here. Maybe waiting a couple of days avoids that, but it was overdue and no one could justify his roster spot. I am sure all of his now ex teammates will still be at his event, and unlike most humans losing his job isn't going to hurt his bank account.

I am not a Hahn guy. I think he is smart, seems like a good guy, but if I had a team, he would have zero chance of being the GM. That said, at least he cut bait on this mistake. I just wonder had they signed Machado would Yonder had a job no matter what?

The $$$$ will be spent!
Probably.

Rick once put together a Major League team that finished as close as 16.5 games to winning a division. This guy is a baseball savant.

What is the fascination with Mendick?

They did give him plenty of opportunities to snap out of it. He never did. This was going to happen one way or another anyway, cut bait and let Collins strikeout for a while. Maybe he can figure things out.

Taylor St. aka Rick's kid would probably say he's killing it. Only paid $230,769.23 per hit for Yonder.

Probably bring up a pitcher and an infielder for him and Anderson. Give Collins Yonder's ABs. Or since Leury is playing SS, maybe the return of Engel.

Anderson leaves game with apparent injury
You watch the replay, and it doesn't look as gruesome as a lot of them, but who really knows what happened inside.

The guy is on pace for over 80 extra base hits and he is driving in lots of runs.

WTF?

Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
Reliever WAR is a bit crazy to use. Mariano Rivera, who was a no doubt first ballot HOFer, made it to 3 WAR a couple of times, but was generally a 2-2.5 guy. So using a reliever's WAR vs. a position player's isn't really accurate.

That’s what I thought. Apparently the Red Sox trainer also came running out. Maybe something popped.

Yolmer is sick. I would expect an infielder.

Devers can really hit. He runs the bases like he came out of the White Sox organization.

The guy in the stands looked like a bloated Rick Hahn

I actually think he is a victim of his own success. I agree with Stone, he has made some unreal plays, now he thinks he can make everything. He will learn.

Fulmer has looked good tonight. He also looked good at Texas.

Fulmer going back for his degree. Probably realizes he is going to need a real job.

Eloy should probably wear a helmet in the field.
