  1. Which is strange because they gave one to Belle, and benefitted greatly 22 years ago.
  2. If you take KW at his word, they cannot guarantee one player $300 million because they will not have enough money to build a total team. So probably no chance.
  3. Advice for the next wave of fake insiders, and the fakes who will continue like they weren’t totally exposed, when it comes to top free agents, coming in second is a White Sox trademark. Just say their offer is great, but............
  4. If the Sox felt their offer was superior, why didn’t they downgrade it like Lozano wanted and signed the player?
  5. That is the problem. The longer the Sox aren't entertaining the better the chance people who used to attend games find something else to do with their time, and stick with that even when the team gets better. Cleveland is an example. They sold out for years. Then were horrible. Now win the division every year and can't get a full house until playoff time.
  6. Harper is the chance to right a wrong. You got out negotiated, now get back up and get in there.
  7. For Harper, offer him 10/ $330 million guaranteed. No opt outs. Or give him a 5 year opt out. Even salary. He beats Machado. He beats Stanton. JR saves face. If Harper performs and Machado perform, they save money in the long run if the $350 million is accurate. Boras keeps his clients in shape. Harper plays hard, and is really the face of baseball. Win. Win.
  8. They didn't even need Manny. I wonder why they even wasted their time.
  9. If they are so worried about money, selling is the best way to get all the money you want.
  10. I am sorry, I, in the past have defended JR, but this is ridiculous. He made a great deal buying the Sox. An even better deal buying the Bulls. Combined, the teams are worth about $5 billion. He and his partners, many of whom are the same for both teams, have made tons of money. And except for Michael Jordan, and a for a short while DRose, hasn't had sustained winning for either franchise. With all they have made, you would think paying Machado or Harper would be a small payback to the people of Chicago who have given so much for, except for MJ, which these guys had nothing to do with acquiring, so little. It's time for the ownership group to move on. Let there be another voice. JR's isn't woking. His loyal lieutenants' aren't working. They need to get with the times.
  11. But it's over 10 years. And supposedly it's evenly divided. Pretty good chance 7 years from now, KW, JR, and RH no longer have offices at Guaranteed Rate Field.
  12. Makes me wonder if the 8/$250 is accurate. Just read what came out of KW's mouth.
  13. Think of all the fake insiders who actually were giving posters crap.
  14. Over 10 years pencils out to $30 million a year. They didn't want to guarantee that.
  15. The White Sox wouldn't guarantee $300 million. You can offer Harper a contract where if he's Babe Ruth, he will get $1 Billion the next 10 years, but if they don't guarantee more than $300 million, there is no chance.
  16. I would ask J Michael Robertson, but he has left Twitter.
  17. It is the last time anyone will take their chances of actually signing a premium free agent seriously. KW said they can't afford $30 million a year if they want to build a championship roster.
  18. Again, I am just going off what the White Sox are trying to spin now, that their offer was indeed more lucrative.
  19. And even if they did, who put them in the position where less money, fewer friends, and farther from home is more desirable than the White Sox?
  20. I don't understand how the Sox save face if this is true because if it is, he took less money, ran away from his friends, to play for the Padres. It's not like he went to the Yankees or Red Sox or Cubs or Dodgers. The Padres.
  21. JR actually had this down until the Adam Dunn signing. He had fans and media believing the White Sox broke even every year. Then they asked him where they got the money for Dunn, and bringing Paulie and AJ back. You save a little here, save a little there was his answer.
  22. The the Sox spin is their offer was better, they loaded up with his friends, and he still went to the freaking SD Padres. That should make the fan base feel a lot better. And they should be proud of what they have done to this charter franchise.
  23. If they can't afford $30 million a year, why were they bidding on these guys?
  24. Perhaps. But if this was their plan, they had to know $300 million was the price, and even more for Harper. That was well known since the beginning. They had no idea all the teams would drop out, if as WSD, suggests, this was their plan, years in the making. It was sheer luck it appeared it may not go there with Machado.
