  1. This being at the table has me confused. Did it take until after the 2018 season for the White Sox to learn all players will “invite them to the table” if they are willing to pay the rate it takes to sign them? Are White Sox fans supposed to take out of this good players will actually listen to the White Sox ifthey make competitive offers as a feather in their cap? No wonder the Cubs own this town.
  2. If they aren’t at liberty to give any details and really don’t care for any attention, I have a hard time wondering why they would suggest something was up. At the very least, the board last night, and I wasn’t on when it happened, turned to Joc. If what rabbit was suggesting wasn’t Joc is going to be traded for quickly, he could have stopped it with one post. That didn’t happen. If Joc Pederson was traded to the White Sox today, both would have accepted all accolades. So since it didn’t happen, whatever, but they weren’t right. And that should not bother them if they have to read it. I don’t personally know either guy, maybe it doesn’t bother them. There have been more insiders than ever this year, and more inaccuracies. Personally I think any who has contract details, and wrap up dates are all full of it. Rabbit was on fire a couple of years ago.WSD was on fire a few years ago. Whether they still have those same sources, and whether those sources really have the correct answers onky they can answer. Once you get an insider label there does seem to be an expectation. Rabbit wrote some stuff a few weeks ago mentioning signing on a Wednesday. He was only tomgue in cheek because KW used to always seem to make his moves on Wednesday , but people were setting up for something happening on Wednesday. So I could see where it could be a burden. But insider does seem to be a coveted title.
  3. Saying something is going to happen isn’t exactly going out on a limb. I will tell you something will happen between now and spring training. I also will tell you I have no source.
  4. Just standing by waiting for the big announcements.
  5. So if they announced a trade for Joc, WSD would have received no credit. He was wrong. No big deal. Everyone has been wrong. But at least call it what it is.
  6. I am just surprised they didn’t have any huge announcement. This is Soxfest afterall. You know, the place they announced the name change to US Cellular Field?
  7. It's all BS anyway. There is a guy on twitter who has already said Manny and Pederson are done deals. People are scratching their heads trying to figure out how he knew.
  8. People can make fun of him all they want, but he's made a living covering baseball, something a lot of us wouldn't mind doing.
  9. How did you know? Beef is my other guy.
  10. Being a baseball player on the West Coast is a bit tougher. There is more travel. SD weather is nice, but Manny isn't there during the winter. He's from Miami so hot and humid is probably his thing. Chicago offers that during baseball season.
  11. If the Padres are in, there's a better chance Nightengale, Olney and Levine were pretty accurate, and the others....not so much.
  12. I can't see a team going from 0 to $250 million. I would imagine if the Padres are suddenly in, it's at what we all thought would be laughably low when this thing started.
  13. When it's for a player this caliber, it's pretty hard to close the deal unless it's an overpay. You may be the leader, but what is their motivation to sign unless it's a crazy offer? Wait it out. Unless the White Sox were willing to bid against themselves, this was possible. But it still may be all BS.
  14. If Pederson or Machado aren't announced at Soxfest, will it be a kick in the jimmy to Sox fans?
  15. Don't worry, it will warm up Super Bowl Sunday. My co-worker had some Southwest vouchers he couldn't use, so he gave them to me, and I am heading to South Florida Super Bowl Sunday with 3 buddies for 5 days. All we had to pay for our roundtrip flights was $40 in tax. But since I am going, no way it doesn't warm up nicely here. You are all welcome.
  16. I would say very few. Most of the people there tonight either already have season tickets, or are people that would but cannot due to life schedules or living out of town...and their ticket office will be closed. Also, individual game tickets are not yet available.
  17. If they knew Wednesday or Thursday, that is 2 more days they could have been dominating sports radio and TV in Chicago.
  18. But changing the name of the park to US Cellular Field would? The fact is the people who show up on Friday night at Soxfest either spend a lot as it is, or due to logistical reasons, cannot. It's not the casual fan that spends $400 on a Soxfest weekend.
  19. They would have it anyway. Do you really think if the Sox announced they have agreed to sign Machado, press conference tomorrow a week before Soxfest, the media wouldn't show up? Saving it for Friday night is one of the worst times to get the word out news wise. What news is dumped late Friday is usually news that people really want to be ignored. This isn't reaching the most White Sox fans as possible.
  20. Soxfest sold out anyway. It usually does. This isn't a big money maker for the team. How come the Sox didn't save their new TV deal announcement for Soxfest?
  21. Only fools would travel to Chicago this weekend an hang out outside the hotel. It's pretty cold.
