BTW for anyone in Chicago that eats at Chipotle, on Sunday it is BOGO if you are wearing any Sox gear. Cubs gear works as well, bu fuck them.
-
I read all the time on here the Sox need to call so and so up to work with Coop. Apparently Fulmer isn't one of those guys, as are a few more.

I agree that not trying to be competitive is bad for the sport and something should be done. But it worked for a couple of teams so until it fails with someone, which is a guarantee, it will he consdered foolproof. It isn't as bad as the NBA. Yet. There being bad isn't enough. Not dressing your better players or pulling them during crunch time is becoming common. Who knows, maybe Sept. 1 the Reds give Votto a vacation or the Sox tell Aubrey to go home and rest. If something like that happens, then something definitely needs to be down immediately.
-
At least I am not an Orioles fan. Think about how bad they are going to be once they trade Machado. Reds, Marlins, the tanking for draft picks crew really have pick 4 again as best case scenerio.
-
I think most expected bad Maybe the first couple of games gave some hope for not so bad. But no one could have anticipated this awful.
-
Volstad has been pitching lately like there is something wrong with his arm and if he said something his career would be over.
-
The team seems to get along well, etc. I just wonder how bad the record can get before some guys start getting annoed with each other.
-
Exactly. It's hard for the runner. You have to get a good jump, but this is a guy who stands a good chance of going through the attempt so you have to be careful. It shouldn't have happened , but taking everything into consideration, it's really no surprise. You miss a bunt, and the runner isn't Ricky Henderson at 2nd, they are vulnerable.
-
It's not Renteria's fault if the play wasn't challenged. They have a guy who tells him what to do. But it does seem this year and last, there have been several times a challenge appeared in order but never happened. Maybe they are just OK with the call going against them and increasing their chances of losing.
-
Ricky used to get questioned a lot about his bullpen use with the Cubs. A lot of people have forgotten about that. It's probably the biggest thing a manager has control of in determining wins and losses. If you know how to manage a pitching staff, you pretty much don't need to know much else to be successful at running a game. On top of that, Ricky does bunt too much.

Probably at least until Avi comes back and Palka can take his spot, if he is still hitting.
-
He speaks Spanish and is very nice.

I think in NL parks it's true, but the AL has the advantage in AL parks because most NL teams don't have the quality extra hitter AL teams do.
-
It's not like we see it all the time with this team...wait.........oh yeah.
-
And top it off with less confidence, there is a lot of trouble. He's had a few moments he has looked great. Hopefully something can happen where he can get to the point of getting pitches over the plate without having to groove them. Of course, as was pointed out, it's a problem with a lot of pitchers. If it were that easy to fix, teams would be lucky to score 2 runs a game.
-
He got lit up in inning 1. What would make you believe he is a reliever? It isn't like he has command of one or two pitches and it's the others that get him in trouble. Until he learns to throw strikes, he blows no matter what you do with him. And on those rare occassions he actually has an idea where the ball is going, he's a pretty good starter.
-
Santiago does the same thing.
-
Rodon has had the same issue. Kopech probably will have it. If it can be fixed, the staff can be amazing. If not...we are seeing it.
-
No, but it is their problem. This staff has a huge problem with control and command.
-
They might not score 14 runs the next 5 games.
-
Inability to throw strikes makes Gio and Fulmer gas cans.
-
He's the Gordon Beckham of pitchers.
-
and this game is ova. This is sickening.
-
On the bright side, I didn't go to this game.

What is weird is why would someone refer this to a Real Estate guy? And even stranger was Steve Dunleavy who from his wiki page Dunleavy controversially wrote a series of articles in defence of Wayne DuMond, a Vietnam veteran who was convicted of rape in Arkansas in 1984, questioning the justice of DuMond's sentence and conviction. DuMond's sentence was eventually reduced to the point where he was paroled; within a year of his release, he went on to rape and murder two women in Missouri. Was this anywhere near the time Ivanka and Donny Jr. were in trouble with the law?
