  1. They were really painful to watch for over a month after they traded Q. Then September came. As has been stated time and time again, don’t believe what you see in garbage time in September.
  2. At what point can we tune into a game and expect it to be competitive for at least 3 innings? I’ll hang up and listen for my answer.
  3. Trump spending money studying building more coal plants. Sweet. also on Fox and Friends one of the hosts put on a skit yesterday looking through the “failing, fake news”NYT. Saying he couldn’t find a story about the 5 ISIS leaders that were captured. He was correct, there was no story in Friday’s paper. They reported it Wednesday, even before Supreme Leader tweeted it. You have to love State News.
  4. If none of those guys make it, the White Sox will have several more top 5 picks to select pitchers. They just need to take the top player on their board regardless of position. If everyone wants to be like the Cubs, exactly how many of Theos draft picks have started games for the Cubs?
  5. The first 35 games after they traded Q, they were 10-25.Then they went 19-21 to finish out the year, mostly Sept. meaningless games for both teams. So 9-26 is pretty similar to where they were after Q. Then they did a bit better, but who knows about the September asterisk. Maybe their record is their their talent level. I still think Baltimore is worse, and will be even more pathetic after they deal Machado. I am not too sold on Detroit not falling apart like they did last year, and after watching head to head, it’s hard to imagine KC truly being better than the White Sox. Cinciantti and Miami are far and away awful in the NL, and SD is poised to make sure their draft pick is high. The Sox could finish with a worse record than last season and draft a few slots lower.
  6. Trump cancelled NASAs greenhouse gas tracking program.. Global warming, climate change, fake news.
  7. I agree. They aren’t winning anything next year. Let them get their feet wet then, and have an extra year of control when they are going to need it.
  8. Draft pick I will give you, but no way on playoffs
  9. Wasn’t he 2-37 or something like that to start the season? Since then he is making Eloy look like a chump
  10. Well we knew Rodon was going to be out a while. Moncada has missed about 5 games, most have anticipated Avi to regress at least a little. Expecting a team to go through a season totally healthy isn’t realistic. 9-26 is a bit short of even what you were anticipating when you said 69-93. 60-67 the rest of the way seems a bit far fetched.
  11. Everyone expected bad. No one anticipated a 41 win pace vs. an easy part of the schedule.
  12. BTW for anyone in Chicago that eats at Chipotle, on Sunday it is BOGO if you are wearing any Sox gear. Cubs gear works as well, bu fuck them.
  13. I read all the time on here the Sox need to call so and so up to work with Coop. Apparently Fulmer isn't one of those guys, as are a few more.
  14. I agree that not trying to be competitive is bad for the sport and something should be done. But it worked for a couple of teams so until it fails with someone, which is a guarantee, it will he consdered foolproof. It isn't as bad as the NBA. Yet. There being bad isn't enough. Not dressing your better players or pulling them during crunch time is becoming common. Who knows, maybe Sept. 1 the Reds give Votto a vacation or the Sox tell Aubrey to go home and rest. If something like that happens, then something definitely needs to be down immediately.
  15. At least I am not an Orioles fan. Think about how bad they are going to be once they trade Machado. Reds, Marlins, the tanking for draft picks crew really have pick 4 again as best case scenerio.
  16. I think most expected bad Maybe the first couple of games gave some hope for not so bad. But no one could have anticipated this awful.
  17. Volstad has been pitching lately like there is something wrong with his arm and if he said something his career would be over.
  18. The team seems to get along well, etc. I just wonder how bad the record can get before some guys start getting annoed with each other.
  19. Exactly. It's hard for the runner. You have to get a good jump, but this is a guy who stands a good chance of going through the attempt so you have to be careful. It shouldn't have happened , but taking everything into consideration, it's really no surprise. You miss a bunt, and the runner isn't Ricky Henderson at 2nd, they are vulnerable.
  20. It's not Renteria's fault if the play wasn't challenged. They have a guy who tells him what to do. But it does seem this year and last, there have been several times a challenge appeared in order but never happened. Maybe they are just OK with the call going against them and increasing their chances of losing.
  21. Ricky used to get questioned a lot about his bullpen use with the Cubs. A lot of people have forgotten about that. It's probably the biggest thing a manager has control of in determining wins and losses. If you know how to manage a pitching staff, you pretty much don't need to know much else to be successful at running a game. On top of that, Ricky does bunt too much.
  22. Probably at least until Avi comes back and Palka can take his spot, if he is still hitting.
  23. I think in NL parks it's true, but the AL has the advantage in AL parks because most NL teams don't have the quality extra hitter AL teams do.
  24. It's not like we see it all the time with this team...wait.........oh yeah.
